2019 Oliver Owner's Rally

Bring Your Travel Trailer May 16-19, 2019 Lake Guntersville State Park In Guntersville, Alabama

We are happy to announce that the 2019 Oliver Owners Rally will be hosted at Lake Guntersville State Park in Guntersville, Alabama on May 16th-19th, 2019.

Lake Guntersville State Park features stunning views that marry the pristine lake waters with the southern foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. The adjacent 69,100 acre lake is consistently ranked one of the best waters to fish in North America. Boat, kayak and canoe rentals are available when you are ready to explore this beautiful lake. The 6,000-acre park has 36 miles of hiking and biking trails. You will see it is a refuge to some amazing wildlife that include fox, raccoon, whitetail deer and one of the largest populations of migrating bald eagles.

For the adventure seekers, the incredible views and excitement from the Screaming Eagle Zip Lines will give you an adrenaline rush you will not forget. If you prefer a day to relax, the lodge pool will be open and offers amazing views of the lake and campground below. If you prefer to hit the links, the Eagle’s Nest Golf Course is very affordable and only minutes from the campground. With all that Lake Guntersville has to offer, you’ll be hard pressed to not want to stay longer than the four days of the rally. It is truly a gem that you will not regret visiting.

Featured Events
Each month we have given you more details for a specific rally program or activity in our monthly Featured Events section of the newsletter. This month we are featuring four activities (Table Games, Ladder Ball, Cathedral Caverns Tour, and Trailer Show and Tell).

Table Games
Playing games together is a great way to reconnect with old friends. It is also a fun way to meet new people. Although everyone will have many opportunities to play games on your own, we thought we would schedule a time for those who like table games to get together. We will provide a few games, but feel free to bring the ones you like. Hopefully there will be time for you to play more than one or two games, so you will be able to enjoy your old favorites, and also learn some new games.

Ladder Ball Tournament
You will notice people playing Ladder Ball at many of the campgrounds around the country. It is a fun game for all skill levels. You do not need to be a good athlete or an expert Ladder Ball player to join this tournament. We want everyone to play. We believe this will be an annual favorite at our rallies. Come join us for the very first annual Oliver Travel Trailer Owner’s Rally Ladder Ball Tournament. Even if you do not want to play, please bring your chairs, come watch this live-ly game, and cheer everyone on. You don’t want to miss it.

Cathedral Caverns Tour
This will be a special treat if the day of the tour is warm. Inside the caverns it will be nice and cool. People come from far away to see these beautiful caverns. We confirmed the price, and it will cost each person $14.00 no matter the size of our group. We will meet at the Beach Pavilion and line up the cars. We will car pool there from the campground or you may drive separately if you prefer. Everyone will pay individually upon arrival at the caverns. We will wait for everyone to arrive and pay, and we will tour the caverns together as a group. After the tour, everyone will decide if they want to meet at the same restaurant on the way home, or if each vehicle will stop for dinner where they want.

Trailer Show and Tell
At any camper rally, it is always interesting to see other trailers. This will be a non-competitive activity. Everyone will be able to visit those campers who will be open for Show and Tell. We will let you know which trailers will be open. Seeing how others decorate and what modifications others have done is always fun. If you would like your trailer to be open for Show and Tell, please sign up at the bottom of this newsletter. You do not have to sign up to go see the trailers. Only sign up if you are showing your trailer.

Look for these featured events in upcoming newsletters: Golf Outing, and the other activities Lake Guntersville State Park offers (Zip Line, Geocaching, Nature Talk, and Nature Hike), Maintenance Workshops (Anodes, Truma, and Bearings), and our Boondocking Panel.

Activities with a Cost
Four of our rally activities have a cost involved. If you participate in Golf, Zip Lining, the Winery Tour, or the Caverns Tour, you will need to pay the entrance fees.

Golf Outing - We will be sharing the details of the cost and how and when to pay soon.

Zip Lining - We do not have enough people signed up yet for a group of our own. The only way to be in the same tour with other Oliver Travel Trailer Owners, is for those who want to participate in zip lining to call, ask for the same tour time, register, and pay yourselves. They cannot hold any slots for us without payment. To ensure that those who want to participate in zip lining get a spot, you need to call the Screaming Eagle Zip Lining Desk at (256) 886-2517 soon and sign up and pay for the 9:00 am tour on Friday, May 17. The Screaming Eagle Zip Lining employees will fill up the 9:00 am tour as people call. When the 9:00 am tour is full, they will start put-ting people in the 10:00 am tour for the same day. They will tell you if they sign you up for the 9:00 or the 10:00 tour. The day of the tour, anyone can change to a different time. (If we have only a small number scheduled for the 10:00 tour, they could change some people from the 9:00 to the 10:00 if people want to do that.) Level 1 costs $59.00. Level 2 costs $99.00. Payment by credit card is their only means of payment. You have to pay in full when you register.

The cancelation policy is - outside 7 days of your tour date, they keep a $20.00 processing fee, and you get the rest refunded. If you cancel within 7 days of your tour date, they keep a $20.00 processing fee, and you get 50% of the rest of the amount that you paid refunded. If you cancel the day of your tour, or you don’t show up for your tour, there are no refunds. Please contact Mary Kay Cvacho at 434-841-4474 with any questions, or call the Screaming Eagle Zip Lining Desk at (256) 886-2517.

Jules Berta Winery Tour - We will be collecting payment for this activity at our Rally Registration. Your tour leaders, Henry and Kristie Scheuer will be collecting $25.00 per person. Please pay in cash, so we can use that to pay the winery. The Scheuer’s will pay for the group upon arrival at the winery. This will include the wine tasting and pizza dinner at the winery.

Cathedral Caverns Tour - The cost is $14.00 per person, no matter the size of our group. Every-one will pay individually with a credit card or cash as you arrive at the caverns. After the tour, everyone will pay for their own dinner on the way back to the campground.
