The Legacy...
The Oliver Legacy started as an idea. It was an idea thought up by two brothers, identical twin brothers to be exact. These two men were Jim and John Oliver. Their idea was to design and manufacture a travel trailer that would last a lifetime and conceivably contain all of the amenities of a full sized motor home, but still be economical to compete with today’s standards. They began by examining all of the current design options in the RV industry and decided that there was nothing available to the consumer at that time that could actually last someone for a true lifetime of enjoyment. They began to design the custom molded fiberglass travel trailer that has now become the Oliver Legacy. Its design and construction make for a lightweight, aerodynamic, fully insulated, low maintenance and self contained travel trailer.
After three years of designing and testing; the Oliver Legacy is now available for you to own. It will give your family the opportunity to enjoy all of those unforgettable moments and to create your greatest of memories.
Now, let me tell you about the construction and design that goes into every Oliver Travel Trailer!
Starting at the bottom...
The Frame is an all aluminum box tubular design. The reason for an all aluminum construction is to lighten the weight of the unit as well as provide a frame that will never rust.
The Class III Cast Iron Hitch on the frame has a variable tongue weight that can be customized to meet the towing capacity of the vehicle intended for towing. It can telescope out from the cabin. Adjusting the length of the hitch will either put more or less weight on the tongue load and inversely add to or subtract the weight from the axle.
The 3500 lb. axle is paired with a leaf spring and shock absorber suspension system. The reasoning in this design is helping stabilize the trailer. The shock and leaf spring system were designed and tested to ensure an all around better performance, more control and safer ride. The axle also contains a powered braking system. The installation of an electronic brake control is necessary for use.
At the rear of the trailer’s frame is a polished aluminum bumper that can be deceiving to a new eye. The bumper that has been incorporated in the frame has a very unique feature. There are two pins, one on each side, that when removed allow the bumper to be folded down. When folded down it opens a storage compartment that can hold water hoses, tools, sewer hoses and also contains the drain connection for the black and grey holding tanks.
Built into the frame of the Oliver Legacy is a powered leveling system! This system includes a powered tongue jack that controls the front-to-rear leveling and two more powered jacks located at the rear of the frame. One is placed behind each rear wheel and provides the side-to-side leveling. On top of the powered tongue jack is a level bubble that can be used as a level guide for leveling the travel trailer.
Moving on to the good stuff…
The overall construction of the Oliver Legacy is a Double Wall Fiberglass Core that contains Thinsulate™ Acoustic Insulation. Basically, you have a completely custom molded fiberglass exterior shell, as well as a completely custom molded fiberglass interior shell. Between the two layers of fiberglass there is an insulation barrier.
The custom molded exterior has been designed to direct and keep water from ever entering the shell. Every opening or attachment to the exterior has been encased in a fabricated enclosure and sealed to protect from all of the elements.
Outside
The custom molded exterior has been designed and shaped for a sleek & eye catching appeal. Many of the exterior features have been incorporated into the mold to add to the look and quality of the Oliver Legacy exterior.
In the front of the Oliver Legacy is the custom molded propane(LP) cover. It has been aerodynamically designed for better fuel economy and provides a clean look and appeal to the unit as well as to protect the two 20 lb. LP tanks when covered.
At the rear of the Oliver Legacy you will find the custom molded spare tire cover. This thoughtful design adds to the look and appeal of the unit, as well as protects the spare tire. The spare tire cover can only be removed with a special tool that is provided with the unit.
Next to the door is a lighted audio/video connection center w/ a 12V power source. This is to provide an easy connection point to bring the flat screen LCD TV outside for viewing. There are also speaker connections that allow for two external speakers to be connected for additional audio.
On the side of the Oliver Legacy, near the rear is an enclosed faucet/battery box. The faucet area is lighted and also houses a water pump switch. This allows you to operate the water pump from outside the unit without having to go inside to turn it on! The faucet also extends to become a shower. The battery box can hold up to two 12V batteries in a slide out tray for easy maintenance. The 30 amp 110V powered service cord is located on the same side as the faucet/battery box. The service cord is 45’ in length and powered. Just press the switch located inside the service cord storage compartment and it reels itself back up!
Inside
On the inside of the Oliver Legacy you will find a beautiful and brilliant white gel coated cabin.[G2:265 class=g2image_float_left] There is no carpet to be found on the walls or even on the floor. A tiled floor comes standard in the Oliver Legacy, but an optional carpet kit is available. Above you will find a full surround of overhead storage space. These overhead cabinets have been custom molded into the inner fiberglass shell as a one piece design. This is a feature that can be greatly appreciated. There are no pop-rivets or screws used to hold the cabinets in place as they are part of the interior fiberglass mold! The seating in the cabin is also molded into the inner shell and conceals more storage space that is hidden beneath each seat.
You will find the bathroom in the Oliver Legacy to be very spacious and also quite useful. The bathroom has a toilet, a shower and a custom molded sink with a vanity.
The three faucets in the Oliver Legacy are high-end premium grade products. We want you to have the performance that you deserve as well as operation you can count on. The locations of the three faucets are bathroom, kitchen area and the outside courtesy faucet.
The holding tanks and plumbing in the Oliver Legacy are enclosed between the inner and outer fiberglass shells. This is to help lessen the possibility of freezing in extreme cold climates. They are insulated and also laid out evenly across the floor for even weight distribution. The sizes are grey water: 35.5gal, fresh water: 32.5gal and the black water: 18.5gal.
All holding tanks and battery capacities can be checked at anytime by using the digital monitor station (gauges) that is mounted in the kitchen area. It will inform you of the percentage used or remaining in each holding tank as well as the current voltage status of the battery(s).
The Oliver Legacy has been decorated with modern lighting that is placed in the most vital locations. All of the lights in the Oliver have their own independent switch for operation. They are also of a high grade caliber. Most all of the lighting in the Oliver is LED; there are a few lights that are incandescent.
Incorporated in the design of the interior is a full surround of sound. There are four speakers mounted in the cabin. Centrally located is the head unit. The head unit can perform such operations as playing DVD, CD, CD-R/W, MP-3 plus AM/FM Radio. To make sure that you get the best of options when listening to the radio we have added an AM/FM signal booster!
You will also find a 15” flat screen LCD TV in every Oliver Legacy. This TV is matched with the head unit for ease of operation. It is also mounted beneath the overhead surround storage with a tilt/swivel flat screen TV mount.
One last thing to add to this wonderful audio/video package is the King-Dome roof mounted Satellite! The King-Dome can be used with any satellite service provider. The nicest feature of the King-Dome is after programming it once; all you have to do when you get to your location is turn it on. It will find the satellite on its own!
