Home Depot and Lowes carry Azec brand pvc board and trim boards which is exactly like the material Oliver uses, not cheap but strong and lite. Used in areas subject to moisture and water exposure.

 

 

 

[Some feedback on the Houghton air conditioner]

Original thermostat works fine, though it flashes E5 which is an open circuit code because there is no more AC unity to connect to. Just toggle to thermostat to heat when you turn it on and the heater works as normal. 6 month now using the Houghton and we love it! Its quiet, the Heat pump works great, as long as outside temps are above 40" F. Runs 5-6 hrs so far on the lithium 640 amp Hr batterys. Hull 1144 LEll, FORD F150 2014 

[HELP! Anybody know how to wire the thermostat after putting a Houghten AC unit on their OLLIE?]

I replaced the noisy Dometic with the Houghton AC unit, its so much quieter! Now i am trying to wire the furnace to the thermostat without burning it up, Does anybody know how to wire the unit up ? Can  i use the original thermostat ? Any suggestions appreciated !

Thanks  SeaDawg, Well so far everything is working well, got a recall off the trailer axle, got to replace the washers that retain the bearings!, og the washers sent out by Dexter but the weather is to hot to do it my self and to far to Mothership , probably shouldn't drive it till its taken care of, so well wait for cooler weather and get it done. Repair shops are busy too.

Well picked up Hull 1144, 14 June 2022, very impressed by overall build quality in light of how many trailers they are building per week! very few minor problems that i managed to fix my self. Been almost a year in wait but worth the wait!

WE asked Phil for a hull number so we could know how far along they are commng, I'm sure you could contact Oliver and request a Hull # assignment.

I made a point to ask Anita and Jason a very specific question when I took our factory tour;  "When a problem happens in the field... how do you handle it?"   They assured me that when something happens in the field... they go back to the manufacturing point and attempt to get to the "root problem"... and fix it so that it doesn't happen on future builds. 

    I hope that turns out to be true... because most of the problems that pop up... if they do a proper root cause analysis... these things shouldn't happen again.   It's in their interest to do so because every "repair" is profit lost, whether its done at the factory or by an authorized rv repair facility.

    I sincerely hope that somebody at Oliver is monitoring this site to be aware of problems... especially repetitive ones.  In addition, I think it would be nice to sometimes hear from Oliver on what they are doing to resolve some of these problems (for example the shackles with wet bolts that should have a bushing?).

I too am feeling  LITTLE NERVOUS about OLIVERS quality control. I hope they are and do work on achieving resolution of these defects, For a almost 90K trailer. Given that they must be producing a lot more units than in the past they hopefully well solve the Quality problem. They eliminated the stripe option to save time and money! we were told. Hope they invest in a little more Quality Control. We're buying our Oliver in June 2022 # 1131. Well be making a through list for sure when ours becomes available . Thx everybody for posting problems so we can throughly check it out on pick up.

Thanks for the advice, reading here on the forums , Looks like I'll be going through it throughly! to find defects, i believe we well be camping out at the Oliver factory as the are almost finished with their new site. Hopefully all well be good though!

We're Todd and Laurie Hoffman from Maryland, !1August 2021, Hull 1131 well be ours next June 2022, Hopefully time well fly by until then! It well be our 3rd RV, Really impressed with the Build quality, hopefully Oliver well keep it up! unlike all the best of the company's out there. Love the dry camping potential ! still debating lithium pro vs lithium platinum  though. really like the large reserve of the platinum setup and ability to run the AC as needed. We look forward to joining the Oliver get-togethers and meeting other Oliver owners!
