  1. Kirk, If you couldn't afford the basket Oliver provides as an accessory, what would you get instead? They charge a hefty $1600. Also, how would you attach the basket to the tongue? Thank you!
  2. Hi John, I have an SUV, not a truck, and I prefer to keep gas fumes out of the SUV interior. Otherwise , that would be a good suggestion. I do have a 1000 watt suitcase, just not sure where. I'll have to dig around Thank you!
  3. Hi SeaDawg, I did call Oliver, and I definitely can't afford their tongue basket. I've seen comparable ones online for much less, but I don't know if they would fit, and I don't know how they are attached to the tongue (?). I think I already have a solar panel somewhere; I just need to dig it out. I would definitely get the Honda EU 1000, as it is quiet, lightweight, and easy to start. I don't plan to rely on electricity 100 percent. Thank you!
  4. Great answer, thank you. How would I get the tray, just use the Oliver website? Sorry for being such a newbie. I haven't checked for the connection. The generator would definitely be a 1000, as that is all I can lift. I would have to go to higher elevations to escape heat.
  5. My nice RV mechanic suggested I place the Honda generator I plan on ordering on the bumper? What would be the best rack? Thank you!!
  6. Not sure. Sorry if I sound naive. Where is hull number?
  7. Two inch hitch with 7500 lb. rating worked well with my Nissan Armada . Thank you!!
  8. Good news @Townesw Bill and Martha, and @SeaDawg: It was the friggin' camper battery! Apparently, battery was SO dead, that even shore power wasn't enough to maintain A/C, thermostat, and at times, some of the outlets. A new battery takes time (I guess)?, as in overnight, and for now, A/C and thermostat are beginning to revert to working condition. On to the next, err, hurdle, but I'll give it a few days. The previous owner was nice, but I think she lived in Oliver for awhile , and then just at let it sit. Thank you for the great info !
  9. Yep, that's it alright @Townesw, but I have good news! See below
  10. Hi @SeaDawgand @Townesw I think I figured it out. I'm about 80 percent it's the thermostat. It may need replacing? It has some weird programming, so part of the issue may be the programming function, and it may also have needed more battery power, as I just got new batteries. If someone can help me figure out the weird thermostat settings, we might be able to solve this! I have MCAS and P.O.T.S. ( no need to look up, lol), but heat exhaustion would not be good for me. A/C did suddenly come on this morning. It did so yesterday too, but after I brought it back from car mechanic to get new 12 v batteries, there was nothing I could do to get it to turn on . . . . THank you!
  11. Thank you SeaDawg! Got your message and replied in inbox. I have electrolyte salts somewhere. I do well with salt bc of low BP. Thanks for the concern!🌹
  12. Hi Townes, I will try what you suggested, although I have noticed that the thermostat is acting wonky, so am wondering if the issue lies with the thermostat? The A/C suddenly came in on its own this morning, but I sadly had to turn it off, bc I took Jasmine (my Ollie) to car mechanic to get new batteries. Some strange , and/or annoying issues still remain, the A/C being one of the most concerning . Temps reached 107 in some areas of the desert near town today.
  13. Hello Townes, Those are all very good questions, as A noticed that the previous owner wasn't exactly the best at maintenance. The air is coming out of three openings and the grate on the bottom. Not much air coming out of 4th opening. I will remove the grate when it's a bit less hot. What is the best way for me to remove the grate? Negative to anyone checking the could. What type of technician would do this? HVAC? Thank you!

  15. Thank you Mike. Goodness knows, I need help . . .
  16. That's exciting, Kirk and Carrie! Best of luck!
  17. Thank you! You were brave, to teach Middle School;
  18. Please help. My a/c unit is blowing cool, not cold, air out. It was in the 90s today. When I arrived at the state park, and hooked up to electric, it wouldn't come on. Then, the thermostat seemed frozen . After that, it would only come in for short bursts, then stop. A fellow camper fiddled around with the thermostat, and the a/c finally kicked on, but it has taken three and a half hours for the room temperature to go from 95 to 85. I got so hot trying to get things accomplished inside and out, I started to see black spots in my eyes, and to feel kind of drunk. I went inside , but it didn't help. And yes, I'm drinking water, but what's up with that Dometic? I adjusted the thermostat to a higher temperature, so the a/c could inch down and not get stalled by a low temperature like 68. It's on 79 now, but room temperature is 84. It goes down about 2-3 degrees an hour. Is that normal? Sorry, photos skewed, so numbers reversed. The first is thermostat setting, and the second is room temperature. If it does this every time I travel, it's trouble, bc I don't tolerate heat well. Thank you
  19. Ok, that makes sense! Thank you , Kirk!
  20. Hi Wyodoc, No, actually, I meant 2 5/16". Oops. Thanks! I will edit.
  21. Hi there, I have a question about ball size. Does the ball on the receiver hitch have to be 2 inches or can it be 2 and 5/16th of an inch? Thank you!!!
  22. Hi there! I am the new owner of an Oliver Legacy Elite II. My Ollie was delivered on the 14th. I will be living full-time in my Ollie. I have named her Jasmine. I am a retired English teacher More later . . . . Thanks!
