  1. @SteveCr, thanks! We have always kept our differential at d2, and I would think that default setting is the better choice. No?
  2. @jd1923, I've never even heard of a control box! I had no idea when we purchased this Oliver 1 1/2 years ago how much I would need to learn!!! Yes, I reset the thermostat and my husband shut off the breaker, and the clicking is as bad as ever. In a year and a half we have yet to use the air conditioner, so I don't even want to think about replacing it (even though it's volume was off the charts when we tested it). I'll go read the thread you mentioned. Thank you for sticking with me on this! Barb
  3. @John Dorrer, yes, we did the reset ... still clicking!!!😵‍💫
  4. @jd1923, thank you very much! Our Dometic a/c doesn't have a heat pump, nor does our thermostat have that setting. You may be right about our thermostat being on its last legs; hopefully it can limp thru this month-long trip. We greatly appreciate your idea of shutting off the breaker for the a/c and have just now followed your advice.☺️ We'll see how tonight goes. Barb
  5. We are boondocking and running our furnace at night. The fan, via our Dometic thermostat, is set to AUTO, although we have also run it on low at times. Our problem is that throughout the night whenever the furnace is attempting to ignite, the AC is also making loud clicking sounds, as though it is trying to start, as well. To be clear, the clicking sounds probably aren't loud, but at night they sure seem to be! Argh! Anyway, what do we need to change to stop the AC from trying to do whatever it's doing? Thanks! Barb
  6. @Steve Morris, oh, thank you so much! Your knowledge about such things is helpful and your answer is comforting. I appreciate your input! Barb
  7. @Steve Morris, I wonder if you saw my question in the above post?
  8. @jd1923, WOW! I am so grateful for thorough explanations like yours so I can learn about these Oliver details of which I know nothing about! Thank you! It must have been a different Mark & Barb who had brake shoe issues; regardless, I want to have some knowledge to be prepared for possible future malfunctions. Your previous comment about your brake locking up put fear in me - now I know a bit about what to do. Thanks!
  9. @jd1923, or anyone, what is one supposed to do when a brake locks up? 😬
  10. @Steve Morris, argh! I made the mistake of having my husband install the Reese receiver backwards(?) on our back bumper. In other words, the wider & higher “lip” around the receiver is closest to our spare tire. Is this a problem? It would be an easy fix if we could simply turn it around, but with the original Oliver receiver holes drilled in the bumper, and now the “backward” Reese receiver holes, I worry about rotating and moving the Reese receiver off-center and adding more holes. What is your opinion? Thank you! Barb
  11. That's a good idea since we often camp far away from cellular reception. Yes, it's more expensive, but not terrible. And, @Steve Morris, it's good to know that your Trak-4 has been mostly reliable most of the time. This is going to be a difficult decision!
  12. Oh, I did not see that option on their website!
  13. We feel safe when the trailer is at home, but we want tracking abilities when we boondock in isolated areas in Utah and leave the trailer while we go off hiking for the day.
  14. That's a good idea, @CRM! I was looking into the Trak-4 tracker, and their subscription is $7 a month, after purchasing the device for around $15 on Amazon. So the phone would actually be a costlier method, but I like your ingenuity!☺️
  15. We are wanting to place a GPS tracker on our Ollie. The posts concerning trackers that I’ve seen on these forums all appear to be at least two years old. I’d love to know what trackers you folks are using now - and, of course, details on how you like them, the monthly/annual cost, etc. We have android phones. Thanks, Barb
  16. Very good points. This is why I asked y'all on the forums!
  17. Thank you, @Rivernerd! That’s the direction my husband would like to go. We appreciate the links.😊
  18. Looks like that will be our route, too. I’m glad @Steve Morris walked the road ahead of us. ☺️
  19. ".. a true 2 inch receiver is 2 1/16 inches" - that's interesting!!!
  20. We are home and remeasured our Oliver rear-bumper hitch that will not allow the 1UP 2” bike rack to be inserted. It seems that the 2” Oliver hitch receiver is literally a hair’s width too snug. @Jason Foster, here are photos of our hitch and receiver. @Zodd, @MAX Burner and @bugeyedriver, the anti-wobble bolt was not tightened, and the plain ole square end of the 1UP shank would not even begin to enter the receiver. It looked like it should, but was a teensy tiny bit too snug to allow entry.@rich.dev and @Mountainman198, it is, in fact, a 2” Oliver receiver. Perhaps it was a special request by the original owner?? So, with all that being said, do we dare file down the inside of the Oliver receiver… or the outside of the 1UP shank? By the way, the 1UP shank fits fine in our tow vehicle’s 2” receiver. Suggestions, please.🙏 Barb
  21. I greatly appreciate hearing your opinion, @Steve Morris; especially since my husband and I are ignorant about such things. I'm going to follow your advice and copy what you did. I'm going to the McMaster-Carr website right now. Thank you so much.☺️ Barb
  22. Perfect, @Steve Morris. I appreciate those specifics. The only place I can think of to get a thin, tough plastic pad is the one that came with and is under our Anderson leveler. I'd better leave that one alone! Where did you get yours? Barb
  23. @Steve Morris, I've read and reread your posts on the aforementioned previous thread, as well as this one, and that Reece receiver seems like the way we need to go! You mentioned using 1/2" stainless fasteners designed for "high pressure applications". If we go to our local Home Depot, what do we look for to identify fasteners specific to high pressure applications? Barb
  24. @TimD , @ZLarryb and others who have added the receiver on the original post: how have you liked using it, and has it held up well?
