We've replaced ours once and it needs it again. Seems to last about a year before the numbers area cracks. Kind of aggravating to keep replacing it but I worry about rain getting under the number plate. Paula

We ordered ours in February of 2019 and took delivery in September 2019. We have never regretted our decision. We also benefitted from the forum and we were fortunate enough to attend the 2019 Oliver Rally at Lake Guntersville SP. We really enjoyed seeing the presentations and meeting many of the owners. We have been so pleased with our LEII and love to share with other people.

I took some photos of our failure. This was the second occurrence. First failure pulled the strap from the screw connecting it to the aluminum base on the right side of the furnace facing the curb side. I just used another hole. I did have to bend the left side to ninety degrees to have enough strap to reconnect. This failure was after our trip last fall. This new failure probably occurred due to a very rough unpaved road, rutted, and with many potholes. We had our tire pressure at 70lbs this spring. We don’t have any strap on our Truma and it is solid. The furnace has a bit more give to it without the strap We are going to lower our tire pressure to 60lbs before our fall trip. I will go with a nylon strap secured with a aluminum u channel and two screws on each side The strap will a buckle on top.

I don't remember seeing a top screw on ours, will have to look again. We bought new metal strapping but haven't really decided whether to use that or to try another solution with a nylon strap. Still pondering! We've read much of the past discussions about tire pressure and have been running ours at 70 psi. Interesting to know Jason says 55. Paula

I like the holder in the closet that holds your aluminum foil etc. What did you use to attach it to the inside of the closet door? Looks like something (wood?, plastic?) was glued (with what?) to the inside of the closet door, then the rack was attached by screws into the wood/plastic. Nice mods! TIA. Paula

We just finished a trip on miles of gravel/dirt logging roads. When I was cleaning the dust out I lifted the panel under the curbside bed and noticed that the same strap is broken on our 2019 LEII. This is the second time it has broken. David is thinking about replacing it with a heavy duty nylon strap. What do you think? Paula

We bought a Weber 1200 and did the mod to allow it to work off the Oliver QC. We also got a Camp Chef stove and put a 3/8 inch 1/4 inch QC male flared fitting on it to connect to the Oliver QC. I do enjoy like using QC connections front and rear.

I find the KTT mattress a little too hard but David likes it. I am more of a side sleeper and he is more of a back sleeper. Paula

Cindy, We ordered the denser foam cushion from Foam Source https://foamsource.com/. We bought the densest, heaviest (ridiculously expensive!) ones. We do like them a lot though! Paula

We changed to denser and heavier foam cushions to prevent "bottoming out" when we sat at the dinette for a long time. One benefit was that they no longer slip, even without the nonskid mat. We have the ultrafabric. Paula

We have the KTT twin mattresses and like them. Yes, they are heavy! Paula

We were traveling with our Norcold 4.5 refrigerator on Auto. We had the LP off and were running on DC. We check this too by pressing the mode button and the LED illuminates showing DC. When we got to the campground where we don’t have shore power we turned on the LP. I checked the stove at some point and turned on the Truma outside and the at the remote inside. After a few hours I happen to check the VictronConnect Smart Battery Shunt numbers using my iPhone and Bluetooth and discovered extraordinary draw. I immediately checked the refrigerator by pressing the mode button and confirmed it was on DC. Several iterations of this with the Norcold setting of Auto always showed DC when I pressed the mode button. I finally changed to manual LP and the LED F was displayed indicating an LP issue. I couldn’t understand why the stove and Truma would work and the Norcold had a code, but power cycling the refrigerator after relighting the stove for one more check resolved the issue. I suspect the code was suppressed by the Auto setting on the refrigerator. My warning is to not trust the Auto setting without checking the actual operation by pressing mode or setting to the desired setting manually.

I butt spliced my antenna when I broke the original clearing snow but when we get back from our current trip, I will be terminating the original cable in with SMA male and female to allow easy replacement down the line. I bought an an antenna with higher gain to hopefully improve performance when signals are there weakest. I may also add an internal antenna where we use our phones the most too. Leaving the original in its current location above the dinette.

Kathie,
I have run my A/C with the Ez-Start option using my Honda EU2000i so I wouldn’t expect you to have a problem either if you have the Ex-Start capacitor

I purchase a kit for my Weber that allows me to connect to the Oliver QC and just bought an adapter for my Camp Chef Ranger II. Saved the eliminated regulators for the owners of the two propane appliances. Now connecting to my Champion dual fuel was more elaborate and required a special regulator to allow the carburetor to pull propane as required. I added some QC connectors to facilitate storage, but the total cost me about $150 including spare regulator for using on a propane tank at home.

I have used a 5 gallon poly gas can for grey water occasionally and use it for our LEII when we were generating too much grey water before we can dump at the dump station. I attached the hose adapter to the end of the sewer hose and dedicated a hose to use. This worked well, but I ran into some vacuum issues so I recently used a y adapter and added an air vent hose that I can elevate an open and speed the entire process. We use this when we can drain completely or have an extended stay. I dedicate the gear for this purpose and store in the bumper.

Just a quick note to anyone who builds one of these, don’t forget to winterize with RV antifreeze. We had some pretty cool weather forecast for our current trip on March 21st so we after we sanitized our water tanks and plumbing, we winterized our LEII and I used the transfer pump to winterize itself.

Not sure if it is NE enough but we stayed at Douthat State Park in VA . Great hiking, more than one campground area. We didn't see as much of it as we wanted, it is on our list to return to. Paula

I bought my case today and have most of what I need to build the case except for the Zamp adapter. I have a toggle switch that I will install already. I will need to get some barbed hose adapters to connect to the PEX piping that I will use. I already had the spare pump. I want to be able to remove it easily should I have a failure of the one installed in the Oliver basement curbside.
Composting toilet, pro and con

As long as the pee bucket is emptied every couple of days and not allowed to "steep" it isn't bad. We do find that if you let it go longer it can be a little ripe when you empty it. The part that I thought would be nasty, emptying the used coco coir, isn't stinky at all. If you had the runs for several days you might need to add more coco coir, but a single case hasn't been an issue. I do think if I needed to vomit I'd choose a bowl rather than hang over the toilet! Luckily haven't had to test that yet! We are glad we chose the composting toilet. Paula
