  1. Following this.. We pick up our Oliver on 12/10. We live in South Dakota. We are wondering about how low a temperature people have camped in (running furnace) without freezing problems (I mean the camper not us). The place we plan to store it will be 40 degrees (heated hangar). At what point do we need to winterize ..i.e. How long can it set at 40 or do we need to do anything for storage at that temp.? Thanks Linda
  2. Thanks so very much! We are getting the Oliver Elite Legacy II. We have been backpackers and tent campers mostly. Twice we hauled a pop up with our 76 Toyota FJ40. My husband is a farm boy so is used to hauling trailers. We also have moved several times with him towing a car. All these details about dealing with water, sewer, jacks, etc. is new to us. We appreciate all your feedback! Linda
  3. Hello, We are to pick up our Oliver on 12/10. We received a list of supplies we need to bring with us and need some advice. 1) potable water hose and sewer hose.. how long should these be? Also advise on what/ how to choose these things.. pad supports for Stabilizing Jacks Wheel chucks Thanks Linda
  4. Thanks, I hadn't considered that space..then we can pet him at night, too! Plus it would be an escape place other than our beds (which he will like the best). Linda
  5. Hi, Here I am with more questions! We are picking up our Elite II Dec 9. We are going to be traveling with our dog and appreciate any wisdom anyone can share. He is a 12 yo Lab/Shepherd mix. He is a LONG lean 65# healthy guy. I am thinking we will need to use the dinette bed for him at night. I would rather have him on the floor. His sleeping style varies from "small" curled up to fully stretched out. In our house he roams from couch to his bed to the floor during the night. We could have him use the back of our Cayenne, but he might get cold! I might need a baby monitor to check on him Do you have any wisdom to share re dogs traveling? Also somewhere I read about a temperature monitor in case we had to leave him in The trailer and the AC malfunctioned. Any help with this? Thanks, Linda
  6. I appreciate the ideas. We are going to start collecting things for camper to "take the edge off the wait". I think I will get nordicware plates and bowls, but also some paper plates. We are going to use those unbreakable glasses that look like glass. Our indulgence will be our ceramic coffee mugs and maybe a couple of real wine glasses. We have been backpackers so are good at figuring basic items and can add as we go. Dave is getting a bike carrier for the trailer. Also a screen room that is easy to put up as mosquitos love him and black flies love me. I am interested in the Fagor multicooker. Has anyone used this item? Linda
  7. Hello, We ordered a Legacy Elite II and are to pick it up in December. I have some questions about the kitchen, the cubbies, and what people have done. My concern revolves around breakable items..dishes, glasses, cameras and computers. Do you use Corelle or what for dishes? Where do you keep the dishes ? Do the cubbies stay reliably closed? If so how do you keep you dishes from moving around. Or do you use the drawers for dishes? How do you store the dishes? How about laptops and cameras? Where do you store those? I really don't want plastic rolling around either. I was thinking about the using the nice quality unbreakable glasses but melamine doesn't work in the microwave so then I am back to glass for some things. I did see a link to basic kitchen supplies so I think I have a good idea of minimal things to start to collect for kitchen use. Thanks for any help Linda Posts: 2 Joined: Mon Sep 14, 2015 9:19 am Top
  8. My husband and I toured the factory yesterday and put money down on our new camper! We are from South Dakota. We have been backpackers and tent campers mostly. We have had a few trips in wheeled campers of various kinds. Yesterday was so informative and fun. We are looking forward to new adventures while being comfortable! Now we are working on a name for our trailer. "She" will be towed by a vehicle who is named Ruby ( 2008 Porsche Cayenne GTS). Linda
