  1. Thanks! Can you say where in the below picture I should connect if I ever try this?
  2. Our 2019 Elite Legacy II trailer - which we bought used - is probably pretty unique - it has just about everything anyone could want - but no inverter. After hooking up Starlink the lithium batteries in the van died. I revived them with the car battery and ramped down the energy usage and the batteries appear to be restored. My question is would it have been or is it possible to attach the Bestek 400-watt inverter to one of the batteries in the battery pack of the Oliver and get some energy out of it while the lithium batteries in the van were being restored (by the solar panels) ?
  3. Right - yep - a shunt is going to be part of the lithium upgrade. Thanks for the reminder.
  4. Not using furnace or stove... We have 20 gal I think. Let's hope the sensor is wrong. It might be - I just added the Mopeka sensors which don't appear to work when we're on a slope - they've read 15-18% and 100% - quite a bit of variation there! I'm taking the tank in to get it filled and will see where it's at and will report back 🙂
  5. Thanks for the reminder - there is the charge the batteries on the road option. I plan to do what when we switch to lithium. Unfortunately we had a battery disaster and got a new set of lead acid about six months but the time is coming 🙂
  6. Good to hear - Driving down to Phoenix from Vegas tomorrow - will give it a shot on DC 🙂I'll report on that. I Hadn't thought about adding a solar panel to roof but it does look like there's room for at least one more in front....hmmm
  7. Thanks! That is really something 🙂
  8. I set it to propane.... This might help?
  9. Nice idea to switch to DC when breaking camp and turning off the LP. I know you're not supposed to run the fridge on propane when travelling but having it on DC seems like an option -but wow - what a drawdown on the battery at night. Again, I wonder if upgrading to lithium might help? Also - I have Bluetti power station with portable panels. Is there a way to have the power from those panels flow directly to the house battery?
  10. So that's how it works...AC then propane then DC - We have lead acid batteries in the trailer now. I wonder if upping them to lithium - which we plan to do at some point - would help maintain the batteries under load much better. Is there much to installing a supplemental fan to pull more air through the coils? The fridge was throwing an F error code I think it was - it turned out to be dust and stuff gathering in the fridge. Once it was blown out it did fine. It's 95 degrees here right now - so it is very hot. I'll be in cooler temperatures soon.
  11. 2019 Oliver Legacy II - with no inverter. I got the fridge going and am in hot temps (@90 degrees) and bright sunlight - and it is burning through the propane. The temp is set at 6 out of 9 with 9 the coldest - and is pretty filled up. A couple of days running and one tank is down to 15%. The fridge is set to auto - and can be set to AC, DC or LP-gas. The manual says the DC setting works off the car battery and the car must be running - but I imagine and hope that it's drawing off the trailer battery. I can't tell if it's doing that, though, and if it is it doesn't seem to be helping much with the fridge (?). The first person who bought the trailer put everything in it but the inverter - I don't know if that makes a difference. Anyway, I don't know if blowing through this much propane is normal or not in these circumstances or if there's a way to stop the propane drain other than reducing the cold level of the fridge. We just had the fridge in for maintenance, by the way, and it appears to be running perfectly.
  12. Thanks! That's my experience as well - the two sides of the chain do not match up - thanks for the suggestion 🙂
  13. Good idea! Never would have thought of that.
  14. there have been times when the plate was at an angle that one side had more threads than the other. I probably should have checked that after I drove a bit and readjusted. I think it was probably tighter than usual this trip.
  15. I pulled into a spot outside of Vegas and was surprised to see the right chain of the Anderson hitch lying on the ground! The bow shackle holding the triangle plate to the chain had disappeared. Not seeing any scoring on the chain I thought it might have dropped off on the dirt road. Sure enough there the shackle without the pain on an incline coming up from a severe dip in the road. It was bent open pretty nicely. (Never found the pin.) Could I have tightened the Anderson hitch too far down or did it just happen? The hitch is 5 years old. I was able to find some bow shackles on Amazon.
  16. Propane checked out fine - as expected. We went to RV Henderson - a smaller place - and had a good experience. The guy said the regulator was working fine but thought it might have failed in the cold - something about the diaphragm getting too stiff I think. Apparently regulators are not that difficult to replace if it goes.
  17. For sure the more options the better - It's pretty darn cold right now in the southwest. We are on the way to this one - 3000W Inverter and lithium's to run the Heat Pump or other options. and maybe this one - generator Thanks
  18. Ha! Good to know - thanks!
  19. Beautiful = It's on our list 🙂
  20. Thanks for that - we are replacing that. 🙂
  21. " Simple solution is to turn off all propane users, disconnect the tank hoses. Reconnect, and crack just a bit your tank valve and light off one stove burner. it will purge any air and you can ignite the burner. Let it burn for a few seconds and then fire off the refer and furnace and hot water heater." Great idea! Thanks :). I wonder if we did something like you suggested to tweak it. We were without any heat with some propane left in one bottle (the other was as bone dry as propane canisters get) but maybe the levels were too low at that temperature to get the system going. I was getting frost on some things. Another learning experience! 🙂
  22. We did keep the arrow level pointed to one tank or the other. This is what it looks like right now. The tank on the right is the full one.
  23. Got it - thanks 🙂
