External charging of Lithionics batteries; how?

I have a different message related to this ongoing problem regarding my Lithionics not taking a charge when plugged into 120, You may want to review that thread to get more background information.

However my battery voltage is very low and again it will not charge via 120. When reviewing the Xantrex website troubleshooting page it was noted that the Xantrex Inverter/Charger will not turn on if the battery voltage is too low. So.....maybe that is the problem. ("Battery voltage may be too low for the charger to come on.")

How do I/can I charge the batteries? I have a conventional 12v battery charger; can/should I use that? Do I need a special charger?

Yes you can, but it will not charge correctly and fully unless it has a LiFePO4 setting. Yes, for now do it, being careful to connect positive to +tive cables, negative to…

The other concern is how many amps is your charger rated. Many are only 10A. To fully charge 640 AH Lithionics that are at 50% SOC with a 10A charger will take 32 hours. Leave it connected overnight. An OK short-term fix until you get your Xantrex 3000 working!
