  1. Bugz, butcherknife said that was a good idea and she was going to try it.
  2. Tom and I have been throwing around the various merits of different manufacturer's hitch lock designs. While he was looking on Amazon.com, he located this one at a good price: Here is the link that Tom found: Thanks Tom ! It looks good to me, but was wondering if anyone had any experience with them ? Jump in and help us with this search if you have the time !
  3. Chuck said: Currently enroute to Apalachicola/Eastpoint FL to put my stuff into storage, see my girlfriend and we'll go up to pickup "Ollie". !!! Assumed you used the half ton truck,, how was handling???? Hope to me you soon, Chuck! [/i] > Hey, Chuck, here it is the last couple of days in February, you are getting close to delivery time. What day will you arrive at Hohenwald ? Oh, yeah, I see that you have chosen the same nick name for your coach that we have. It usually goes like this around our house. "Honey, wil you carry this stuff out to OLLIE ?" I makes me wonder if owners will just refer to their camper as "Ollie" instead of giving them a speciffic name as Casitan's often do ? I havn't seen any one posting a name for their Oliver TT yet.
  4. Bugz, we tow with a Jeep also, and when we stop, sometimes the cushions are in the floor. Butcherknife seizes the opportunity to admonish me about my Wild driving. Thanks for the input. I may be able to convince her that it is just a naturaly occouring phenomenom that has nothing to do with my advanced driving skills. It took years to polish those skills to the present level of sophistication and I was worried that I might have to tone it down a bit.
  5. The jugs have been all recovered, and lunch on the lake causes a strange phenominum. Reclining lawn chairs suddenly become pro active and will actually capture some one that wanders too near.
  6. Update: Robert told me that the factory is now installing the newest Intelli-Charger that has the Charge Wizzard feature built into it. Isn't it great that they are always looking for small ways to improve the way our coaches operate ! A quick comparison of your converter to those in the link above will tell you if you might already have it built in, or not.
  7. Four bars of signal !! Is that cool or what ! Thanks Pete.
  8. Geocache located near the grave markers of two people that were killed in the Pleasant Valley Range war. Here is the link: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=938edbc3-904d-4848-932f-3957f2dec826
  9. Pete, tell me again about the tin foil and what it does for your cellular telephone repeater set up. I remember you posted something about it earlier, seems like. Does it help with the amount of gain the antenna gives ?
  10. Know of a link that is useful to you ? Think that others might want to go there ? Post it in this thread to be listed in the sticky at the top of the forums. Example: http://www.olivertraveltrailers.com http://www.goodsamclub.com http://www.fiberglassrv.com http://www.geocaching.com
  11. Though we have been using a few suction cups, we mostly found them by accident. For some reason we did a search using the "dogpile" search engine. The search string was for "suction cup hook". We found so many that we were amazed. One manufacturer makes one that will hold twenty five pounds of weight !
  12. Then there are the domino games in the evenings: The bucket light hanging over the domino table:
  13. He, he, that's right Tom, when them ol' homeboys says they has been a' juggin', you may have to think twice about it !
  14. Sherry, We have the same problem ( drilling anxiety ) and our paper towell rack is an experiment. We took two of those lever type suction cups and connected the hooks with a small bungee cord running through the center of the roll. So far, sometimes it stays, sometimes it doesn't. While parked it seems fine, but Butcherknife says that when I do some of that fine hill folks manuvering in freeway traffic that I some times sling it off into the sink.
  15. Bugz, Congratulations on your new Oliver ! Like you, we were quite impressed and knew immediately that it was the one for us. Be sure to give us a trip report of how the first trip went for you.
  16. Of all of the types of catfish, we prefer to catch those that feed up in the water collumn instead of on the bottom. One of our favorites is the flathead catfish. Here butcherknife shows one for the camera: > Here he is head on: > And here is the finished product, ready for the fish cooker, well, almost, butcherknife has this seasoning and corn meal thing that she does. Aren't those just absolutely beautiful fillets ? All carefully trimmed fillets, no bone at all.
  17. Tom, I think that those flooded batterys will give you good service. One thing that I read about the charge wizzard was, that after it put the batterys into storage mode, it would go into a brief de sulfidization phase every twenty hours. I have heard that sulfidization issues are a real battery life shortener. A plug in micro processor that does all of that stuff for battery longivity, costing twentyfive dollars, sounds like the way to go.
  18. How it works: The jug is cast at dusky dark and left out over night. In the morning when the sun rises, we are easing down the lake to where we cast the jugs. The state record for Blue Catfish is well over one hundred pounds. We generaly take a quick photo of anything over thirty five to forty pounds and put them back. We have never came even close to catching a state record, but to hear us whoop and holler while trying to land a biggun' you might think we had a record on the line !:D
  19. The business end of the rig:
  20. Here is a look at one assembly:
  21. Here is a look at the jugs. Twelve will fit in a crate. They are empty anti freeze jugs. Yeh, I know, we spare no expense, when it comes to having the best in high quality fishing gear.
  22. TumbleWeed and I talked briefly about batterys in an earlier post, because it is quite a topic of discussion on other forums. The reason is that most "dumb" chargers will cook a battery to death in a short period of time. Especially when sitting up over the Winter. Other forums recommend leaving the battery disconnected except to charge it briefly and periodicly over the course of the Winter. That would mean having to connect back up every time you made a trip to the trailer and needed to use lights, ect.. A battery disconnect switch eliminated all of that hooking and un hooking, which is why we were bragging on the Olivers push button switch. However with the addition of the charge wizzard, even that can be eliminated, because you made your smart charger into an "intelligent" charger with the addition of a small, plug in, microprocessor. Be sure to remember to get the charge wizzard that is for your type of battery. Link to on line source for the wizzard: http://www.bestconverter.com/Charge-Wiz ... 39-15.html This page also has a goof explanation of the various modes it puts the battery in and how that is indicated.
  23. One of the choices that we make as new Oliver owners, is the type and number of batterys that our coach will have. Our 08' Elite has a "smart charger" that will allow the use of either gell type or lead acid type batterys, either one or two, as the owner's needs require. We chose the wrapped fiberglass and gell, Optima batterys. The smart charger has a port that will allow the addition of a "Charge Wizzard" that is a microprocessor that constantly monitors the battery, changing it's charge rate as needed. Even to the extent that it will put the battery into "storage" mode. This module that just plugs into the existing Intelli_Power TCMS Power Converter/Battery Charger, will eliminate the need for much battery maintenance by the owner. The bonus is that it will extend the useable lifetime of the batterys and reduce ongoing upkeep costs. Want to learn more about it ? Here is a link to the charger: http://www.progressivedyn.com/prod_deta ... 130_2.html And here is a link to the Charge Wizzard module: http://www.progressivedyn.com/prod_deta ... _9105.html Please note that there is a different part number for the charge wizzard, depending upon whether or not you have acid or gell batterys. It's a microprocessor thing I guess. This link gives much data on the TCMS Power CONVERTER: http://www.progressivedyn.com/power_converters.html Be sure to scroll down to view the full data.
