Sherry, if the batteries are fully charged, wouldn't they still be putting DC into the camper even after unplugging from shore power? Thanks, Nan

It would not be hard to cut the power. I could just unplug from the shore power. The camper is under a carport so the solar is not getting any sun. The thermostat is a Dometic Capacitive Touch. I am not at the camper right now so cannot tell you the settings, but I will look tomorrow and let you know. The only information I have on this thermostat is what Jason put on the forum..I actually called the Dometic factory and they said to take the cover off and see if it would work..Thank you and I will get back to you.

Hey Sherry. Yes, you are right in that the furnace and AC were replaced and the ladies said it was an authorized dealer that did it. I do not know if the thermostat was replaced or not. The thermostat is a Dometic, as is the AC and the furnace is an Atwood. I know for a fact that the furnace was never checked out because after calling Cindy at Oliver she told me about a switch. In order to get to the switch you have to take the faceplate off of the heater (outside) and reach behind many wires and turn it on. You cannot see the switch, but only feel it. The switch was off. Now there are 4 screws to be removed on the heater faceplate, however one of the exhaust faceplate screws covers the heater faceplate screw, so you have to take that exhaust plate off first to get to the rest. After moving the switch to the opposite position the heater seemed to be working. I left the thermostat in the OFF position and plugged in the little space heater I had. When I came back to the Oliver the next day, the little space heater was off and the Atwood was blowing full force with the temp being 75 degrees in the camper (thermostat was OFF). No matter where you set the thermostat the heater stayed on. I finally cut the gas off at the tank and in about 2 minutes the heater shut off. Now the AC and the heat strip work fine. Another subject: I have had 2 windows leaking, but after cleaning out the troughs I think maybe they are fixed and then there is the little problem with a screw in the bathroom door...Then trying to get the guy out to check on the nuts on the Dexter...Guess I am whining because so far it has been a PITA. But, thanks for asking.

Thanks Sherry and Seadog. I do not have a manual, but found one online that is similar to the thermostat I have. So, I am going to give their instructions a try and see what happens before I rip out this thermostat and install another one. I could understand a faulty thermostat if all features were not working, but two out of three are working.

Thermostat works on A/C and heater strip. Thermostat is flaky and does not want to turn on heater. Left thermostat on OFF last night and when I returned this morning heater was running and it was 75 degrees in the camper (with thermostat off). Does anyone have any ideas? I called Dometic and was told to try it without the cover on the thermostat..it was already working, just not on heat. But I pulled the cover off and the whole readout went nutty..it was reading 9 degrees and then flipping to 23 degrees. I put cover back on. I called Cindy at Oliver and she said to let it alone and maybe it would reset. Does anyone have any ideas?

MaryRN, there is a switch that is outside behind the panel. It is very hard to see, but Cindy at Oliver told me where it is and I found mine, however that did not fix my problem.

MaryRN, I am having the same trouble. Mine will work on "heat strip" and that is using the AC on the ceiling. But, it will not work on auto and furnace.

Just made the plunge to move from a small motor home to an Ollie. We took a plant tour a week ago and were impressed. Primary motivation was for our Alaska trip next year. I don't trust either the Mercedes chassis nor the (unnamed) coach on the Alaska highway. I completely trust my Toyota Tundra and from what we saw, the Ollie is more than capable.
We did see "Pura Vida" and several other almost completed trailers on the line during our tour.
Probably not the place for a question - but here goes. What are folks using for bed linens, etc. for the small twin/cot mattresses that are used on the twin bed configuration?
Looking forward to joining in the "family" in May. We signed up for a February production slot that became available.

Welcome from the Savannah area. I bought sheets, pads and blankets from ABlifestyles and they fit the Oliver perfectly. I talked to "Janice" and her number is: 1-800-825-4533. She was extremely helpful and I received them in just a few days.

Hey Ken, my grandson crawled under the Oliver and found the two bottom nuts on all four tires were loose. He tightened them 55fp. Do you think I should still take it to a shop?

Our Ollie's Christmas gift arrived yesterday. 2 200 watt panels, to double the output of our existing twin 100s. Excited for that.
Next year, maybe a Lagun table , if I can figure out a good mount place in the small dinette. I'd love to be able to raise the table to counter height when I am using the little table as a prep space, or dish drying space. 🙂

I just received the wok yesterday, so have not used it. I only got the Cobb a short time ago, too. I did buy the cook book for the Cobb, but I am not a fancy cook so do not think I will be using these receipts...lol

We got the 22-inch double-burner Blackstone Griddle - it is a heavy and a bit overkill (with 2-burners you can cook breakfast for the entire campground). The 17-inch single burner, still a bit heavy, is definitely a better choice. Either way, Blackstone griddle is a versatile cooking machine. We also got the hookup hose for our Oliver propane connections - no need to rely on those propane camp bottles, although we still use them from time to time. And, we got the Blackstone table stand ($89) for easy leveling and eliminate the need for a portable cook table. Although expensive, and heavy, the Blackstone stand makes the Blackstone experience better. One last suggestion, using small disposable aluminum pans (or aluminum foil) to line your grease/oil catch trap makes cleanup easier. You may want to visit the Blackstone website to checkout options for your new griddle.
I am probably going to get the 17-inch one. But, I bought a Cobb grill and also a wok for it. I think I am going to REALLY enjoy this.

I also used AB Lifestyles. I bought sheets, blankets, mattress pads and pillowcases from them. They are very nice people and very easy to work with. I would recommend them in a heartbeat! I also bought Dem-Dry for under the mattresses from Ravenwolf Marine and they are also good people to work with.

I purchased a single sized foam mattress but this too was unwieldy, not fitting either bed well. I had talked to other Oliver owners and was referred to Southern Mattress located in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. I contacted them and they indeed confirmed they would custom make a mattress for my Oliver Elite. My conundrum was how I could configure the mattress to access the components and storage areas under the seats. A full sized mattress would be just too much to lift and hold in place as I pulled out storage items, much less to try to work on a component (electrical, hydraulics, water, etc.). As I explained this to my wife telling her I wanted to split the mattress in half, she pointed out it would be very uncomfortable, sliding down in the crack. She said " split it where the bench ends, 1/3 and 2/3s. The crack will be at your knees and you will not feel it". I contacted Southern Mattress and they agreed to cut it where ever I wanted it cut.
I traveled to Rocky Mount, North Carolina and found this to be a family owned company. I arrived in late afternoon and the owner took me to his home. There, we hooked up my trailer with electrical and water on a pad next to his home. The next morning I pulled my trailer to the factory and they began to make my mattress. With each step, they asked me to approve the work, include changes I wanted made, etc. they measured the trailer, made the pattern and asked if I wanted extra room to be able to put bed linens on the mattress. The pattern was a good fit for the 2/3 - 1/3 combination. In short, I was very pleased with the mattress. I selected a 5" firm foam with another layer of soft memory foam. That night, I had the best sleep ever in my Oliver Elite.
I also had a mattress made for the smaller dinette/bed. I used the single sized foam mattress that I had purchased earlier in the year. Southern Mattress did not object to this. Again, they cut the foam to the 1/3-2/3 combination. Each matress was covered in a premium quality quilted cover, fire retardant and straps sewn in to make moving easy. The mattress was double sewn all the way around to reinforce the straps. By noon, I was on the road, headed home.
That night, I slept for the first time very comfortably on my new custom-made mattress. It now slides over easily and stores on top of the other matress while I access the storage and component areas.
If you are interested in a quality mattress, custom made, they now have patterns for both the Elite and the Elite II. They can custom make you a mattress and ship to you. They do not press the mattress in a roll. Rather they box the mattress and ship it to you.

I also bought mine from Souther Mattress in North Carolina. They could not have been nicer to work with and they shipped them in big boxes (and it only took them a few days, too!!). I highly recommend them!!

I read the forum and the owners Facebook page often and it is amazing to see so many of our veteran owners helping our "newbies" with their questions and concerns. I absolutely love this group of people and appreciate each and every one of you.
We get so wrapped up in the business end of things here at the sales office and I don't know if we show our appreciation often enough for the many field visits that resulted in our clients buying Ollies or the expert advice given to the novice campers.

Leaking Windows need to be sealed. I've used duct tape across the top of the windows for a quick fix, plus I added rain gutters over all of the windows and that helped a lot. My old 85 pace arrow motor home never had a window leak in the 30 years we used it but the Oliver windows need to be all torn out and resealed when it comes off of the line. We also had to seal everything on the roof that had been overlooked by Oliver on our build. Plus, the rain gutters that were put in our windows at the factory actually blocked the drain holes, so they would fill up completely with water and run over inside. I ended up removing the windows built in gutters, cutting and modifying the plastic by putting drain holes where they should have been.
The thing that you should do is just pull out the windows as soon as possible and then remove any old caulk and then install and seal them properly yourself. I used a dremel tool to cut the drain holes in the plastic gutter liners and to enlarge the drain openings. Ours leaked from day one until I did this. It was by far, Oliver's biggest fail in our long list of problems that we have all fixed on our own. Don't wait like I did while trying to find the leak. Ours were never sealed at the factory.
Thanks for the information. This should be a trip for a 73 year old Grandmother to do!

I need to clean out the window tracks. Can the weatherstrip that is removed to do this be placed back on the windows, or do I need to put a new weatherstrip on each window? Thanks

Sherry, just got off the phone with Dometic service dept. and was told that it was probably a relay problem and there was nothing they could do about it. Told me to contact an RV service company to check it out. I asked him if I could just buy a Dometic thermostat and he said they did not sell them that I would need to find someone who did and go through them. I am getting the total run around.
