  1. Howdy folks. I'd like to buy a Legacy Elite and live in it, part-time, in one location. I don't own a car and am on a tight budget. Wondering if A) anyone can recommend a shipping company or B) I could pay you to tow the trailer if you are already passing through/by Hohenwald on your way to the west coast. If there was a truck rental company that would let me drop the truck off in Oregon on a one-way trip, I'd be interested in that, but I don't think many companies would allow it. U-haul does, but their rates for long distance are exorbitant. Many thanks!!!
  2. With a composting toilet installed, I would like to use the BLACK water tank as another GRAY water tank to expand the time I have before I have to dump either. Would it be that difficult to plumb a connection between the BLACK and GRAY, so that the GRAY would overflow to the BLACK? I'm assuming that the "vanity sinK" is currently connected to the GRAY tank.
  3. All this talk about generators and nobody is discussing the power needs of the their trailer and the appropriate wattage rating of the generator to match those requirements. Maybe this is discussed in a different topic, but it seems appropriate here, too, as we're talking about powering A/C and what generator to buy. Does anybody know the wattage requirements of the Elite I and II, assuming use of all lights, furnace, water heater, refrigerator, microwave, etc.? Worst-case scenario in the dead of winter or a blazing hot day with A/C on. Once you have those numbers, you can find a generator that provides the sustained power to meet your consumption. The weight of the generator can be a factor, and I personally wouldn't want to buy one that is much bigger than I need. Really enjoying learning from all of you experienced campers!
  4. Thank you for the referral! I just emailed him. Will probably be too expensive, but who know. Cheers, Daniel
  5. Thanks David. I sent him a message. Cheers, Daniel
  6. Have any of you used a delivery service to transport your Oliver trailer from one part of the country to another? I live on the west coast (specifically, Oregon) and would like to purchase an Elite, either new from the factory or used, from Tennessee or some other part of the country. to where I will be living in it, near Eugene. Unlike many, I don't plan to travel in my Elite, but to live in it full-time. The proposition of driving it from Tennessee to Oregon doesn't sound that fun. Kind of surprised that Oliver doesn't offer this service or refer potential customers to trustworthy delivery companies. Let me know if you have any experience with this or have heard recommendations about any specific delivery companies. Cheers!
  7. Maybe 105Ah is an estimate of usable power, but the capacity rating is 217Ah. Just a thought. I went to Lifeline's website and the smallest 6V is 220Ah, which is close to your Trojan's rating.
  8. Trying to extract information from owners of this model year, but so far I'm in the dark. Went to Lifeline website and 220Ah is smallest 6V they now sell. All this inquiry is to determine how much it would cost to upgrade a 2017 Elite to Lithium batteries, which is why I'm here. I've contacted AM Solar, but they need information on what is currently installed to base their estimate of an upgrade. Again, thanks for your input!
  9. I used the Search function and found a user with these, that are rated at 220Ah each: Lifeline GPL-4CT. Maybe that was with an Elite II he was referring to. These are 6V, no? Lowest rated 6V from Lifeline is 220Ah. Thanks SeaDawg!
  10. What is the capacity of the Lifeline AGM batteries? Is your answer the same for what Oliver was using in the 2017 models?
  11. Sherry- Thank you for your reply. It's tough extracting information without people to talk to and this site is a wealth of information and friendly people, like your self. I saw those last ads for Elite 1s, but they were far away and the timing is a bit early. I have some time to do my homework and be ready when the right one comes along. Since I have a roof over my head right now, I don't have to rush. Thanks for that link! I may very well need to read it in its entirety. That's a big help. The coldest I would expect would be in the mid-20s Fahrenheit. Do you think any of those insulation types are preferable for my situation? Again, thank you so much for your consideration and generous spirit. I look forward to learning more from you and others. Cheers, Daniel
  12. Thanks ScubaRx for all that information. I am hoping to buy a used Elite I. When you reference the "early Elites" are you talking about those built from 2007-09, before production was stopped? So, if I buy one made from 2015 on, servicing/removing the fridge will NOT involve removing the front wall? What year was the suspension, A/C, storage, bathroom window and LED lighting improved/implimented? Are you talking 2015 and on? If you don't know, does anybody else? I'd like to focus my search to model years that incorporate those improvements. Thanks again. Hope you are well! And thanks to all the others who have and will contribute to this discussion. I think it will help others, like myself, that are in the market for an Oliver.
  13. Hello all. I've been on a quest to buy a used trailer for several months. Unlike many, I plan to live in it year-round, so 4-season ability is a must. I am single, so I think something 16-20 feet would be sufficient. Until recently, I thought I would be buying an Escape, but the insulation in those seems much less than on the Olivers. I don't need a lot of bells and whistles, like A/C, power awnings, electronic stabilizer jacks and a tv, but it seems like I can't escape those features with Olivers. Basically, I need a sturdy trailer with good storage, great insulation, ventilation and the option of a urine diverting toilet, like a Nature's Head. For now, I'll keep my eye out for an Elite I for sale that is closer to Oregon than Tennessee or Florida. Something west of the Rockies would probably be easier/cheaper to purchase. If you have any suggestions, like what year models of Elites I should focus on, classifieds off this site that you recommend or any other general advice, I'd much appreciate it. This is a big purchase for me and your experienced help is valuable and appreciated. Cheers, Daniel

  15. Any of you been tracking the changes in features or structural differences between model years of the Elite that can comment on what was changed through the years and when? Maybe it's been covered here before, but I can't find it. Thanks in advance, Daniel
