Water line toilet valve repurposed
chiwald replied to chiwald's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
Update to the weight of the purifi washer. It's 42 lbs not 50 lbs. Sorry about that! -
Water line toilet valve repurposed

I think we are going to store it (only on long trips) in the front basket of the oliver wrapped in thick insulation. TLA does have a cute smaller one that only weighs 13 lbs. We can't haul it in our TV because it's taller than the bed cover. -

It does weigh 50 lbs. It's from The Laundry Alternative.com and the model is the purifi. They do have other models. They have a smaller one but I thought it was too small. Here are the adapters plus I bought a short plumbing hose. -

It's working great! Went to home Depot and got a knowledgeable plumbing person. Took her 3 minutes to locate 2 adapters and a short hose 😁 This has to be my best mod yet! Got to figure out a storage place though. -

The washer is 16" by 16" by 28" so not big. I would need to figure out what type fitting would work. And yes, drain to gray tank. -
Good morning, Question for y'all. We have the compost toilet and I was wondering if anyone has repurposed the water valve behind the toilet for something like a portable washing machine? I just got one from the laundry alternative and planned to connect it to the bathroom faucet but the Manuel says you can't hook to a pull out faucet. So then I remembered the water valve behind the toilet and wonder if I could use that instead? Thoughts?

Yes it feels at least 10 degrees cooler under the tarp and in the Ollie. The flag is only out when parked. We just finished it so it hasn't rained yet so we will see. It needs to come forward about a foot and a half and I would like to hang another tarp off the back to shade the end. We have 4 weeks before we leave for out West but because of all the changes we are soooo ready to go!!

OK, here was yesterday's project and then I think I am done!!! It still needs tweaking especially with stormy weather which we got to experience last night!

We haven't gone anywhere yet with the new changes but I also hadn't really used that cabinet before either, just had some plastic food containers in it. I moved the containers to a better spot so I feel like it will be a great place for the glasses. And now the cabinets and closet don't feel as cramped and no items are just shoved in to holes. Looks nice! 😉

No dishes are in the closet, our hanging stuff is in there like jackets and such, we don't hang a lot. I was able to reorganize all the kitchen area after the closet reno and we did free up more space in the kitchen. I will use disposable cups but don't really like to.

Here are a couple of pics of the glasses organizer. I would have liked the tall ones in the back but with the slope they wouldn't fit. It will still work great and stay put during travel. Matt thinks it takes up too much space but with the closet reno, now we have plenty! 😀

Good afternoon, I wanted to post some pictures of my closet renovation (thanks to coach and jojo.) I have been getting our Ollie ready for a big trip out West this July. Going to the Rally was awesome and really gave us some great ideas! Matt and I loved meeting all of you. the drinking glass holder is going in the left overhead cabinet above the table.

Wet floor under black mat in closet
chiwald replied to chiwald's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
Thank you for the tips!! -
Hello everyone, I just noticed in my Ollie closet that underneath the black mat was wet with a salty liquid. The round port hole may have also not been tight in place. Anyone one what the salty wetness could be from? Thank you!! Christi, Matt, and Lucy

Thanks everyone!! We have been to several local campgrounds in our area just to get things figured out. Boondocking question, we haven't done this yet, but are planning to boondock up to the Adirondack Mountains in January 2023. After we get there we will be in a campground but want to boondock to and from. We want to go play in the snow! 🙂 ❄️ Could anyone tell me what kind of drain on the lithium batteries the furnace would be while not using shore power? We weren't planning on buying a generator just yet. Thank you!! Pic of our new tag! CW Hull #1261.

Good morning Oliver family, We just became members last Thursday!! We are so excited about our upcoming adventures. Question for you. I ordered several upgrades from Foy Sperring and one of them was the wood insert to put in-between the twin beds to convert it to a queen. We have the new mattresses, not the KTT. Does anyone on the forum have this? Can you tell me where you ordered a foam insert for the middle and at what depth? Thanks in advance. LOVE everything so far!

Cradlepoint Wireless WAN (wide area network)
chiwald replied to Coach and JoJo's topic in Submit Your Story
Hi again, I've beening doing more research on this topic and I am worried about getting starlink and the tree obstruction situation. I just chatted with Cradlepoint and he said there were no month fees to pay them, that after the first year, you can renew support for $65 per year I think is what he said. So the monthy fee would be just from Verizon for the added line per month? I know it is a large upfront cost, which is why I'm not sure, I just want to be able to get decent service wherever we are and I know camping in State Forests and such, there is ZERO cell service. If you have found something that works good and since this is an older post, will you share it? Thanks so much! And thanks VBistro for the tip on declining the service from Oliver. CW -

I'm assuming the starlink will let you stream on TV with Hulu, Netflix, etc.? CW -
Cradlepoint Wireless WAN (wide area network)
chiwald replied to Coach and JoJo's topic in Submit Your Story
Hello there, I will be making my final selection choices in June for my Oliver and I have on my order to get the cradlepoint wireless wan. Our Oliver is for camping and travel, not a business so I am exploring less costly options. I know this is an older thread so I'm wondering if there is new info for other options? Any info is greatly appreciated. Thank you Christi -
My Oliver is coming end of September 2022!! So excited! Now if I could just find a truck......hopefully by end of summer there will be some choice.
