Due to unforeseen circumstances - Dave and Pam will be departing Seattle on Sunday evening. We will not be able to attend the Bumpershoot Festival as previously planned. We hope to return to the Washington State area very soon--We are still at the Seattle RV and Outdoor Show and will be in until closing on Sunday August 24th. Please stop by and see us. The next Oliver appearance will be in the Reno/Sparks area at the Nugget for the RibFest on LaborDay weekend. Pam

pam roach replied to technomadia's topic in General Discussion

Hey, Dave and Pam Roach are from Rock Island, Tenn. We just moved over to the other side of Center Hill Lake several years ago. But we lived on Webbs Camp Rd - our son spent his teenage years swimming in the Blue Hole at the State Park...that was our backyard! Fall Creek Falls is definetely one of the most beautiful and versatile Parks in the nation. Have been lost on the trails there many times! Small world, huh? Pam

Can't tell you her initials- but they call her Pam.

Moderator note: Split from the Welcome forum Hope you had a good childhood -I did. My mom was a Cub Scout leader, a Boy Scout Troop leader and a Girl Scout Leader. And she raised seven children without going insane! Well..maybe a little!! Ask David... Anyway, we have always packed a first aid kit on all of our trips land and water.. It has been used a lot on this trip!!!! Cold medicine, ibuprofene, peroxide and immodium....these in particular- not necessarily in that order (LOL) I suggest that we all brush up on our first aid response skills as you never know what could turn a wonderful sunny day into a tragedy. We had a wonderful friend with us today at the car show in Spokane that choked on a peice of food. Probably thirty people were watching this occur-but did not realize he was truly in trouble until he gave the universal sign (pointing to his mouth/throat area) We have been trained numerous times on the "dummies" but today was the real thing using the Heimlech Manuever. In seconds the danger passed and response was spontaneous-but in looking back if we had not had this knowledge--it could have been bad...but it wasn't!!!! We suggest to just do a little brushing up on first aid techniques and if anyone has any suggestions on critical items to carry in a first aid case..please share... By the way, if someone gets bit by a snake- I'm not sucking out the poison!!! Someone else will have to be in charge of that one! Pam

We have been on the road for 5 weeks today! We are in Spokane at the Goodguys Car Show for the weekend and there were probably 1500 antique and vintage cars in today- the real crowd shows up tomorrow. We have lots of pictures to share and will be learning how to share them this week and get them online.. Have to tell you guys we had to stay in a Holiday Inn last week at Reno and were so glad... to get back in the Oliver...it is so homey and clean. The Oliver is 17 feet in length on the outside but we joke that it is 40 feet long inside.....Five weeks together and we are still talking to each other!!!! We thought we would have a respite from the heat in Nevada - but it followed us to Spokane. We had a couple show up at the show this morning that saw us pulling the Oliver through a town outside of Seattle....this has happened several times. Thanks to everyone at home for all the support and hard work- Kudos to You! If you have met Jim and Evon ...then you know they are nonstop workers and go getters...For the record Jim promised he would take one day and rest next week. We shall see!

Hello Fellow Travelers- I would like to take a few moments and introduce ourselves. This post is from David and Pam Roach- we are the newest members of the Oliver Team and are traveling with Jim and Evon around the West and the Pacific Northwest of the USA. Some of you guys that are reading this have already met us..we have had terrific response to the Oliver line and have met some of the greatest people already! Just a little background on us.. David and I (Pam) have always had a bit of the "Wanderlust" in us... but this is my first trip out west and it is wonderful!!! Something/someone new over each mountain range. David has been a cabinetmaker for quite some time and I recently left an Airstream dealership in the south after I found this new and unique product. We "know" that what is happening with the Oliver Travel Trailers is "history in the making!" And are more than excited about what is happening. We would never put anyones product down- but we found with the Oliver to have: 1) The absolute quality 2) The amenities and available options 3) The price point! 4) Absolute ease of towing 5) The ease of Care and Cleaning We immediately recognized a new and unique product available at a critical time in the economic and changing structure of our country. No one would get on a train that never leaves the station...but this train has pulled out of the station and we also recomment that you jump on as it is pulling out of the station! "The Olivers have created the Rolls Royce edition of Fiberglass Travel Trailers! David and I have the honor of traveling with Jim and Evon in the field this year... Planned stopping events are posted and we are excited to meet you -if you attend the scheduled events..(some of you reading -we have already met) We are available for any questions and would love to hear from you as you study the product and many of you are new owners - if we can help with any tips - just ask!
