Vent lithium battery compartment?

Recommended Posts

The hatch door for the lithium batteries has two circular vent holes. I've seen folks cover the interior of the door with Reflectix. Is there any problem covering up those vent holes in cold weather?

No problem with lithium batteries. They don't need to be vented like lead-acid batteries do. Just be careful with the Reflectix around the batteries. It will conduct electricity if it comes in contact with the battery contacts/cables. I have some pink foam insulation inside the hatch for the winter.

@GlacierGirl yes use pink foam insulation or 3M Thinsulate 600.

Thank you! I'll go with the safer option.😊
