Copycat Carlton Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 My 2019 Elite ll hull # 552 Norcold refrigerator has stopped working. We were on a 5 night boondocking trip.During the fourth day I noticed the refrigerator was lighting then going off then relighting sometimes. This became more frequent to the point that it would light and then immediately go out. I checked my propane and it was ok I checked my 12 volts and it was 12.7volts. We finally turned the fridge off and used an ice chest the rest of the trip. When I got home I connected to 120v and the refrigerator will not work on ac power either. It shows a n fault code. I have called Oliver and talked to the service manager but they couldn’t tell me anything. Can anyone help me with this ?
Ray Kimsey Posted October 7, 2024 Posted October 7, 2024 I have attached a Norcold Service Manual that explains the "n" error message with some troubleshooting techniques. See page 24. Hopefully the pdf will be allowed to upload. Norcold Service Manual.pdf 2 1 2019 Ram 1500 5.7L V8, 3.92 axle ratio - 2020 LEll - Hull676
Copycat Carlton Posted October 7, 2024 Author Posted October 7, 2024 Thank you Ray, I was able to download the pdf.
Galway Girl Posted Saturday at 08:23 PM Posted Saturday at 08:23 PM That manual is an amazing resource @Ray Kimsey. Thanks for posting. I was starting up my Norcold after winter today and it was throwing an F code. Symptom: On GAS the Norcold would ignite, but the igniter circuit kept clicking and clicking until the unit shut down and threw an F code. I was concerned that it would be one of the harder to find parts like the igniter board etc. I downloaded the manual you posted and followed the F Code troubleshooting flow chart. Upon opening up the burner box, I spotted that my burner area was very clean but the sensor was practically touching the burner, and needed to be adjusted out to 3/16". I did that adjustment by sliding a 3/16 hex key along the burner and squeezed it into the igniter so it was set for 3/16" Re-tried the fridge and it started with no codes and is still running. The gap between the igniter was fine but the sensor was too close. The PIX below are from a service posting showing how the parts are supposed to be aligned....and what a proper flame looks like. https://www.arprv.com/norcold-gas-valve.php 1 1 2019 Elite II (Hull 505 - Galway Girl - August 7, 2019 Delivery) Tow Vehicle: 2021 F350 King Ranch, FX4, MaxTow Package, 10 Speed, 3.55 Rear Axle Batteries Upgrade: Dual 315GTX Lithionics Lithiums - 630AH Total Inverter/Charger: Xantrex 2000Pro Travel BLOG: https://4-ever-hitched.com
Ray Kimsey Posted Saturday at 09:24 PM Posted Saturday at 09:24 PM Glad it was helpful! It allowed me to diagnose a power board issue. Saved me some money. 2019 Ram 1500 5.7L V8, 3.92 axle ratio - 2020 LEll - Hull676
