Better not to have these blemishes at all in the side of your hull. OTT has been installing these cheap ports, each requiring 5 drill holes in the side of the hulls. If you use these ports, just drill a single 1/4” hole for the wires, and use 3M VHB 4950 on the entire base, skip the 4 screws.

I’m glad these were not installed in our 10-year-old hull. Our rooftop was another story. Reuse them or fill them and don’t drill new ones, if at all possible.

Should your hull look like this? Or would you prefer it to look like it is now after MANY HOURS of detailed fiberglass repair? There are better methods of installation! 🤣

Yea after miles of dirt road the dust gets everywhere.  We missed cleaning under the caps but I'm not concerned about it.  

To get the ethernet cable from the attic to the outdoor garage, you will need to remove the attic's street side wall panel, it's held in by two hex head screws.  Also remove two screws to partially pull back the garage side panel.  From both locations, you will see the clear poly drain tube for the air conditioner.   The gap is wider here, and I was able to snake a fish rod along the side of the tube straight down to the garage without restriction or obstruction from the insulation.  A cheap Amazon sectional fish-rod works well here.   Always pull an extra string with the cable because it gets harder to get the rod through with each wire added, and you may want to add wires later for my "Turning On The Rear Camera Automatically"  modification😁

@Snackchaser how did you get the nut onto the threads of the RJ45 connector?  I ordered the shielded version of that same connector you linked above, but there are not enough threads showing inside the wall to get the nut to bite onto it.

JT, I'm not sure which connector you have, or how you're installing it, so forgive me if I state the obvious.  

I think you might be trying  to put the nut on the inside wall of the trailer, that would probably be too thick.  The nut goes on the back of the Furrion cable TV port after it's drilled out to fit the Rj45 panel mount.  It's assembled on the bench, then installed on the trailer with the 4 mounting screws.   The hole through the Oliver might need to be enlarged a little, this is best done with a step drill bit.

Oh my goodness!  That was exactly what I was doing!  I can’t believe it didn’t dawn on me to put the nut on the back side of the Furrion cover!  I spent the next hour in a panic, mumbling bad words occasionally, searching Amazon for a panel mount with longer screw threads!  (I found one eventually.)

Installed and tested. Works as intended.  I tapped the wires going to the 12V receptacle and installed a cutoff switch which you can see in the photo.  I’m not sure if the POE injector consumes power all the time or not, but installing that LED switch guarantees it and the router are off when I’m not using it.  The injector has a chassis ground terminal, and I ran a wire back to the common bus.  (The instructions said this would help reduce signal interference.)

I did have to do ethernet cable surgery on the end going into the waterproof connector at the splitter going into the dish.  After many bad words and prayers for forgiveness, I finally got the tiny wires in the right order and pushed through an RJ45 shielded connector.  I probably could have got by using a cable intended for indoor use, but I purchased an outdoor rated cable made to the same Starlink standard.  The protective boot over the connector was too big to fit inside the waterproof connector, so I had to cut off the end and put on a plain shielded connector.

Excellent JT! Great build shown in your photos. It's cool that you started this thread just 4 weeks ago, and today you have the setup you wanted working well! 😂

Thank you for getting me started on ours. We received our Mini recently and activated our account today. Easy setup and more to come soon...
