johnwen Posted September 19, 2022 Posted September 19, 2022 My freezer door hinges broke. The tabs that fit into the hole on the inside of the fridge. Springs will still work. Just the tabs broke and allow door to hang down. Anyone have experience with this? TIA John 2022 Oliver II #996 "Bessie", 2019 Silverado LTZ 5.3, Veterans https://wenandjohnsadventure.com/
Moderators SeaDawg Posted September 19, 2022 Moderators Posted September 19, 2022 That's a bummer. I broke my freezer door, different brand, though. I had to order a new door. I'd open a service ticket and see if you are covered under warranty. 1 2008 Ram 1500 4 × 4 2008 Oliver Elite, Hull #12 Florida and Western North Carolina, or wherever the truck goes.... 400 watts solar. DC compressor fridge. No inverter. 2 x 105 ah agm batteries . Life is good.
Kathy Tewart Posted September 19, 2022 Posted September 19, 2022 Our freezer door hinge also broke very recently-a very small plastic part broke off. Ordered a spring holder part from Amazon, it just arrived so it hasn't been installed yet. Probably should have made a ticket as the small part was about $25. Hopefully this is the correct part 1 1

johnwen Posted September 19, 2022 Author Posted September 19, 2022 Hi Kathy, That is the correct part for the left side. The right is 919041. If you have two hex head screws underneath the freezer door, Norcold told me to simply remove the screws on one side and wiggle the assyembly out. After the reassembly you gently push it back up to where the tabs pop back into its hole. Norcold is going to send me the parts to Ft Davis park in Texas and I've notified the campground its coming so hopefully I'll get it fixed... we have 2 weeks at the park and it sems pretty simple. Norcold doesn't normally send parts to the end user but in this case (being simple) they will and it's covered by warranty. However if I mess something up as far as functioning of the fridge, I'll void all warranty. Best of luck, John 1 2022 Oliver II #996 "Bessie", 2019 Silverado LTZ 5.3, Veterans https://wenandjohnsadventure.com/
johnwen Posted September 19, 2022 Author Posted September 19, 2022 Kathy, Here is a YouTube video but it's for a Dometic. It does show you how the tabs lock into its hole at about the 9 minute mark. It does give a good idea of how the door works but it's not exactly the same as a Norcold. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXQCQgKwjGo 2022 Oliver II #996 "Bessie", 2019 Silverado LTZ 5.3, Veterans https://wenandjohnsadventure.com/
