  1. Probably hasn't changed much from the 90s'. The Historical District homes are some of the most concentrated and beautiful I've seen and the food is out of this world. Friendly folk, fantastic beaches and lotsa' things to do and see. When is your pickup date. Mine is probably 1st week of March. Keep in touch and we'll meet up for the 1st Oliver mini rally! Regards, Chuck
  2. W O W ! ! ! Beautiful pictures, Thanks for posting!! Chuck
  3. Just discovered another terminolgy: traveling and camping Traveling=point A to point B, usually quickly. Camping=where you're going when "traveling" (see above)
  4. As I am a member of Escapees Club, when I'm traveling, I boondock wherever I can to save $, so I travel with 1/4-1/2full tanks to save gas. If I know I'm gonna' want hookups, I''ll do the shower then. So I'll usually boondock/drycamp 2 nites and full hookup the 3rd. That's traveling! When camping, I'll fill water tank before arriving if I'm dry camping and not if I've got hookups but I never let water get below 1/4 full. I carry 2, one gallon jugs in bath for flushing and usually 2 three gallon jugs or a case of drinking water for the dogs and I. Usually do not use fresh water for drinking but add bleach to keep it purified. Traveling= getting from point A to point B rapidly with no fun stops Camping= the fun stops Chuck
  5. And I'll be in that area in about 2 weeks just before I pickup my Oliver....which has been dubbed "Ollie" ! Having been there a total of 6 times, I can attest to it's beauty and tranquility. Two fantastic FL state beach/campgrounds ON the water,Gulf or bay, and several excellent and relatively inexpensive private campgrounds that are on or very close to the water and some GREAT seafood and fishing! I am looking to settle for the better part of the next few years here with my Oliver! I'll probably be the 1st fulltimer Oliver owner and this is my favorite area! Hope to see Olivers owners comin' thru to visit!!! Chuck
  6. Hi Pete!! Thanx for info and linK!! Robert not sure they can do it as my top shell is already on but we'll talk Monday by landline. My Casita just sold so I'm eggless and it's my neighbors who seem to be missing it....found out they use it as a point of referance...3 houses from the eggy trailer!!! Chuck
  7. Wish I was closer to factory and not having obligations on west coast. The way that Oliver welcomes customers and potential customers to the plant is refreshing! If they let me in, I'd probably make changes at each stage of my build sheet!!! This will literally be my home for at least 10 years, God willing, and I would probably drive the line bezerko! It seems that every day, they will try to accomodate another customers wishes, usually successfully! BE WARNED, ROBERT, I'LL BE CALLING ON THE CELL PHONE BOOSTER THINGIE!!!! Regards, Chuck
  8. Great new topic. Everyday it seems that something new is available with an Oliver! We, the early Oliver customers, are able to ask and get answers like "if we can do it,we will"!!! Some will work and some probably won't! But we know that it's tried and not laughed at! Yes, this is a great co. to work with!!! Now about that second story bunkhouse............... Chuck
  9. Thanks for the heads up Geri!! Robert, WHAT is the cell phone amplifier thingie?????? And can I still get it????? How does a 23rd del date look????? Casita sold and I'm homeless.....not really but? Chuck
  10. Hi Robert and Butterknife!! Great idea to use Powerpoint! A DVD sales presentation for customer enquiries based on it is great idea! The mere fact that you LISTEN to your customers is very refreshing! It will be the basis for a very long and FRUITFUL(for BOTH) association. Butterknife will hold your feet to the fire, I'm sure!! Regards, Chuck
  11. Ohhhh, you guys(and gals) are bad ! If I can figure it in finacially, that is my dream trip and I would love to join you. Plse keep particulars on this trip posted as it is ONE trip I would love to make!! FYI, the Casita sold today to some great folks! Chuck
  12. The DVD would be a GREAT idea.....wadda think, Robert??? Chuck
  13. Like your 4 door Wrangler!! What engine/trans? Tumblweed
  14. Hi Herschel! Thanks for posting your rally as I heard your last one was fun. I'll live closer this year so as time gets a little closer, expect my reservation, Tumblweed
  15. I was NOT looking for a new trailer when I saw Billy and his Oliver 'gathering' at Quartzsite last month but was curious and thought I could glean a couple of 'mod' ideas! Billy (from the factory) let my friends and I wanderer and explore the Olivers to our hearts content.....that sneaky devil!! The more I explored, the more impressed I became. I really love my Casita, I've done a lot of mods to it with help of friends and just about got it perfect for me BUT.. as I'm fulltiming in it, I saw that the double pane windows and day/nite shades would keep interior more comfortable, full power jacks and easier to use hookups make setup quicker, slideout battery, propane and tire covers make mx easier: I sold my self! Base $ on the Casita and Base Oliver are comparable but the options that are AVAILABLE on the Oliver made the choice easy. I had to do the mods to my Casita to upgrade and while sometimes enjoyable, sometimes not so enjoyable. So now I'll have more to FISH!!!
  16. Thanks for posting the Impact wrench. Been looking at them and with the Chinese origin was highly suspicious! Guess I'll wander over to Wally World. Also, a carpet sample on the ground/hot asphalt usually saves the knee!! (free at your local carpet store!) tumblweed
  17. Hi all! I really like the CocaCola theme! Do you need some small accesories?? Got some so let me know what you're looking for! Placemats, salt n pepper shakers, etc.. I'll probably go with Southwestern "theme" depending on fabric Evon finds. Casita is the Margarita Casita, sort of surf bum, Jimmy Buffett decor. I'll miss it a lot but the Olivers dual pane windows,day/nite shades and hookup conveniences sold me! Hope current owners will post more interior shots. I too, will have a hard time drilling that 1st hole but I'm sure that they'll me a few. Chuck
  18. Hi Mountainborn and all the other members. Got deposit in to factory, not too sure on pick up date, gotta' get Casita sold. Oliver website put on some nice picture albums. I'm retired and in process of moving from Central Coast of CA to about 100 miles e of Pensacola, FL...VERY laid back area. Regards to all and thanks for setting up this forum!!! Chuck
  19. Hey finally figured out how to get on the map and put my final destination on it vs where I'm moving from. Thanks for getting this started, the negativity on Casita Club Forum was awful!! Chuck
