I bet with some digging and research you could have the black series suspension made to fit the Ollie since the suspension is separate from the frame.  $$$$$$

  2. I’ve recently posted about my vehicle with the Decked system. I am very happy with it. A lot of storage, plenty of deck room. It isn’t dust free. Nor is the inside of your cab, or the inside of your home. A little maintenance is all it takes. It’s all personal preference. What ever works best for you.

Just narrowing the field right now. Would this work well or should I just forget about anything less than a three quarter ton?

If you have time to wait. Sometime in August Chevy is introducing and will be available there 2020 1/2 ton Silverado with a tow rating of 12,500 plus now it is at 9000lb big difference, The new tow ratings for the 1/2 ton 1500 is the same as the current 3/4 ton 2500 HD.  Worth looking into.

  4. Camping Spot

Night two of our Alaska Trek was in a friend’s driveway with great food, always an excellent choice when traveling. Night three was at our first Harvest Host’s stop. We were in Hudson, Iowa at the Hansen Dairy. This is a same family owned 155 year old farm starting their seventh generation of owners. Wow. Beautiful spot and even better people. We enjoyed a peaceful night next to a small pond & ate wonderful ice cream fresh from the dairy. We also bought milk and cheese curds that my wife pronounced “delicious.” The site had showers in the tour building available. Nice, hot, longer shower! In the morning we took a neat tour of the dairy.

All in all an amazing stop making Harvest Hosts a great investment.

I hadn’t heard of Harvest Hosts I checked the web site Sounds Very inviting.  And your photos make it even more inviting Thanks for the Post.

  5. Your request seems like a big order to fill for a 23’ trailer of any kind.  The nice thing about the Oliver is the versatility to be able to modify as you please,  my suggestion if your are set on a Oliver is to look into used completely strip it out and try to put in every thing you desire. Buying new, then making all  those changes would be a waste of extra money and I’m sure would void any warranty . Good luck

  6. This is my third Duramax.   This one is 2017 High country  comfort, plenty of Hp, and torque. For a stock unit  My 2016 towed our 30’ airstream  25.000 miles around the country avg. 12-15 mpg  never had the rpms over 3000 on western mountains. The Ollie is going to be amazing to tow. I’m sure the Duramax owners already towing the Ollie can attest to this. I’m a big fan of upgrades. Lifts. Big tires wheels,  exhaust  performance tuners etc. i had them all. For high mileage towing Stock is the better choice. For me anyway. Less headaches if there is a breakdown,  also photo of 2016 with airstream  Don’t know why the photo went side ways.

  7. I just installed a system called Decked. It has two large slide out draws about 4’ long it has a composite deck that will hold 2000lbs in each corner there are small cubby storage.  Each unit conforms to your type of truck bed. Very easy to install about two hours. Cost about $1250. Free shipping.   Working very well so far I have a good amount of weight in the draws and they roll very easy and close nice.  Web site is Decked good video on the product.

  8. Question.  I never had a extra 30 amp outlet for a generator on any trailer I’ve had.  Are both 30amp receptacles tied into the main panel? Does the 30 amp generator receptacle have a cut off switch.  If they are both connected to the main panel with no cut off switch. When you ran a generator would that back feed to the shore 30amp receptacle making that live. And visa versa. Hope i asked this in the simplest way possible.

  9. Ill also confirm the trailer valet is junk. It always kicks out from the coupler no matter how tight the collar is the emergency hand brake engages when you don’t want it to and on a slight incline you have to be hulk hogan to wrestle with it,  that’s what happens when you try to go cheep.  John DYI on you tube has some good self made movers out of a atv winch. Or check parkit 360

I know, you veteran low hull numbers. Saying i remember back in the day when i was waiting for mine. Lol.
