  1. In the short span of time we have been members here we really appreciate the volunteer efforts of all the moderators in keeping the riff raff out and content sailing smoothly. A great job, thank you all.

Thank you to all the long time members here for your patient responses with questions you have seen over and over from us new folks. Passing forward your knowledge and experiences is invaluable and is so greatly appreciated.
We look forward to meeting Oliver TT family members at a Rally someday!

    Stay Safe,

  2. We were glued to the big screen watching SpaceX launch. I gotta say we really needed to see something positive given the news cycle as of late. Kathy and I were so happy to witness such a successful launch and yesterdays docking with the space station. Despite all the craziness going on presently...the Space Coast persevered how awesome! 🇺🇸

  3. Peter,

A big congrats on picking up your new Ollie. There are many long time Oliver owners here more than willing to help with questions as well as sharing their hands on knowledge.
We have been patiently waiting since January to take delivery of our new Ollie Hull #634 very soon...in 15 days but who is counting? 😄 No doubt we really do believe the wait will be well worth it, and like you we are really excited. Oliver has done an amazing job with Oliver University, and the recent release of maintenance videos.
Hope to meet you at the 2020 fall rally. Happy Camping!

Good news on the batteries, but good lord I hope they don't really plan to add that logo.

Agreed, no lithium logo per Oliver’s comment on the Oliver Owners FB page. I also saw a comment from Oliver saying lithium batteries will run the AC.  Spoke with Anita this morning, she said details of this package would be released In the weeks to come. The Ollie is on its way to the Hiawassee Rally to show off the new lithium pro package.

  5. What is everyone using for a jack hitch cover? This one looks like a decent one and has a number of very good reviews. It appears to allow use of the light and see your switches and see your level without removing the cover completely.

  7. We were able to reach out to Calmark covers and ask how they recommend cleaning the cover. We hope this helps anyone owning a Calmark. Here is there reply-

Subject: Re:  Best cleaners for CalMark covers
Thank you for checking with us on the proper way to clean and care for your cover, I have attached some sheets on cleaning the fabric, I also included a stain chart as well.  Normally, you can gently hose down your cover to remove any surface dirt. You can use a Dawn dishwashing fluid and a rag or soft bristle brush. Then, gently rinse with water again. It is NEVER safe to put your cover in a regular or industrial washing machine. They can damage the fibers of the fabric and remove items that the fabric was originally treated with, such as those that protect against UV Rays, mold, mildew and the overall water resistance. There is also a company called 303. They make a biodegradable product used to clean Sunbrella. They also make a spray that you can use to retreat your cover for water resistance. It is a good idea to clean, then retreat, about very 1-2 years.

For a specific type of stain or spill, please refer to attached chart provided by Glen Raven.

  8. We bought a used 2019 Calmark cover for our new 2020 Oliver LEll. The cover has no visible holes or tears And appears in decent condition and even came with the original patch kit. After unpacking the cover on our driveway we noticed it does have a dusty tan colored stain on the very top. Calmark warns to use ONLY non detergent soap. We sent an email to Calmark asking what specific non detergent soap to use. They are closed due the pandemic but may be monitoring email.
Any suggestions on non detergent soap to clean the cover with would be appreciated. We may just try hosing that area off with just water first. We’ll post up if we receive a response from Calmark.

    Thanks,

Just a heads up about the cheap cords from Amazon, they are cheap for a good reason. They use sub-par wires and the engineering and build quality outside and inside the plugs is not very good. For an emergency backup, one would be fine, but for one used often, that you must rely on, get a high quality Marine shore power cord or adapter from Marinco or another top brand. https://www.marinco.com/en/products/connect

    John,

The custom 10’ cord I purchased above is made right here in the eastern part of our state in Raleigh, North Carolina.  here- https://www.pduwhips.com/aboutus.aspx

It appears to be very well constructed with top notch components and has many very positive user reviews. I try to source and purchase high quality products here in NC when I can. I think it’s gonna be a keeper. And agreed, ya gotta be careful on Amazon. If I by chance I unlikely wear this cord out or it fails, I will give Marinco a try.

Got the list from Anita.  Thanks all.  I have a pretty good list of additional items that we carry on our Sprinter MH. I'll duplicate many of those things for the Oliver, plus items to support a pair of Honda EU2200i's when they are available for sale again.  Seems like a stop sale order has been issued once again for a recall.

    katanapilot,
I ordered this shorter 10’ 30 amp cord to use if I decide to run our generator in the tongue/storage basket. It’s a top quality power cord. (theOrca a member on here suggested this to me)

  11. I often try and read back through posts of years past on this forum to learn from past experiences and to try and not to post up a question that has been asked. But I am guilty of doing so. That said, there is a wealth of knowledge here and always a pearl to be gained by just reading old posts. On the lighter side this morning I stumbled upon this link posted by DavidS a few years ago and I really got  few good laughs. Thank you DavidS.

When my wife and I camp our first goal as guests to any campground is to be decent and respectful of other campers in all that we do. It’s just the cloth we are cut from, perfect no. This link pretty much highlights everything we are not. I decided to post this as it certainly made me laugh as I read through it. Certainly it will generate a few interesting funny stories from camping trips past you may choose to share. A dose of humor never hurts. For me the dryer the humor the better.
Enjoy the read...maybe share a funny or not so funny obnoxious experience you have witnessed.

This article pretty much nails it.

These are comfy, strong and not too large. Two will fit nicely in the front of the closet if you wanted them there, along with a ladder.

Plus they have the cool overland ARB logo that will make folks think you really know what you are doing. Be sure you get chairs with sloped backs. The crap ones for $20 often have vertical backs and those are 100% horrible to sit on.

We have the ARB Touring chairs and besides having a lot of great reviews they are quite comfortable and appear well made. Ours came with a nice storage bags. As JD mentioned they and stow nicely for travel. The wide arm rests are notably comfortable. Removable beverage holder/small snack shelf and armchair pockets. I would buy again based on comfort, fit and finish.

From where else amazon.  The make is Opolar model # CF02 mini car fan.  It has USB plugin, mounts anywhere with suction cup. Has four fan speeds and is super quite. It moves a lot of air. The only thing is the USB cable is 10’ long i had a 6” cable that works great. I posted the pictures of it mounted. I’m not sure how to post the item on this site from amazon. If any one can help? Thanks I’m going to purchase a 2nd for the other side.

    Landrover,

Are you satisfied with how well the fan functions and suction cup hold in place? (I just noticed currently unavailable on Amazon). Bummer.
    Thanks,
