  1. While replacing my interior lights with new LED bulbs I noticed that one of the faces/lenses is missing. Does anyone know the name of these lights or where to get them? By the way, this site is awesome!

  3. I have been using the Tailgater successfully now for a few months. Very simple to set up and use in our trailers. Now the question is what do I do with that big bubble on the roof? I have been thinking of taking it off and having a solar panel put in it's place.
  4. Has anyone used this in our trailers. It just takes one cable hookup. I am wondering if you can use the present hookup at the back of the trailer and attach directly to the satellite receiver? I am really challenged when it comes to stereo and electrical hookups.
  5. Great, that's what I was hoping to hear.
  6. I discovered that the 12V power cord to the TV had overheated and destroyed the end with the fuse that plugs into the cigarette lighter outlet. I spliced onto the old connector a new fuse plug with negative results. I tested the cigarette outlet and it works fine. Either the TV is bad or the little L shaped connector is bad. I called Jensen and they said they do not support this TV anymore and that the connector on the new ones is a different size. My question is: Will a new Jensen 19 inch TV fit the original TV holder? Has anyone replaced their original TV and with what and how. Thanks, Steve
  7. I wish I would have thought of taking photos. It's very easy, you take off the screen then remove all of the bolts on the trim. These are attached to the window itself and are what holds the window in. Now go outside and take a knife or blade and trace around the window freeing it from the caulking/adhesive that is now holding the window in place. That's it for the removal. I did this part myself. I took the trailer to an RV repair place near me and they installed the new window for $50 in less than an hour. You can't tell the difference form the original. I could have installed myself but then would have had to research the caulking/adhesive and not make any mistakes with making the holes to screw in the new window. For $50 it was worth it to me to have the RV people do it. Steve
  8. I recently made a post on this forum asking about replacing a window that lost pressure and got moisture between the panes in my Oliver. Within a short time, Buffalo Bob, from Oliver Technologies contacted me and set up delivery of a new window for my trailer. I received the window and installed it successfully. Oliver Industries has been so helpful during the short time I have owned my trailer. They are always there when you need them. Not only am I so happy with my Oliver Trailer, I am just as happy with the folks at Oliver. Thank you Buffalo Bob and Oliver, Steve
  9. One of my windows is compromised and there is water/moisture in between the panes. It looks like I will have to replace it. Has anyone had to do this, and where did you get the window?
  10. Thanks Pete, Al & Pam for the kind words regarding my photos. My daughter is visiting for the holliday and using the Oliver as a guest suite. I can't wait to get back on the road and start another adventure with the Oliver.
  11. Hello, I recently acquired an Oliver and spent a month out west after picking it up in Utah. I spent a week in Glacier Nat. Park and worked my way back down to my home in SW Florida. I took lots of photos but see no way to present them here. You can go to my Facebook page at Steve Petersen Photography and read about my travels and see the images from this trip. I hooked up with Bugeyedriver in South Dakota and he spent and hour or so showing me all of the systems and gave me some good tips on tweaking the Oliver. I have spent about 40 nights in my Oliver since picking it up in September and look forward to my next adventure.
  12. I can hardly wait to head out of Florida to pick up my, new to me, Oliver in Utah. I will be headed up to Glacier for a week or so, down to Yellowstone and the Tetons, then maybe to Moab and the San Juans in western Colorado for some fall colors. On the way home I will spend some time in the Smokeys and then head up to northern W Va for some more fall colors. Eventually, I will have to head back down to SW Florida but by then it should have cooled off significantly. By the time I arrive home the Oliver will have had a serious shake down cruise, as it has less than 5,000 miles and has been used for only 32 days during its first 4 years. I will come close to doubling that mileage and use on my first trip. These last three weeks have been like a whirlwind. After arriving home from a 5 week adventure out west in my AS Bambi 16, I sold the AS and managed to buy an Oliver. Now I will leave in a week to pick up the Oliver and spend another month out west. Retirement is GREAT! I don't know how I ever had time for a job.
  13. Nice blog Pete. I enjoyed reading about your adventures with Oscar out on the open road.
  14. I think it is a simple three-way switch and can be found at any auto supply store. I had to replace mine on the AS I used to own and that's where I found one.
  15. Thanks for the input Sherry. I have about two weeks to make up my mind weather to stay with the 15 inch wheel and go for the Maxxi 10 ply, or 16 inch LT tires, probably Michelin LTX M/S2's. How fast do you guys tow and do you do 500-600 mile days?
  16. Thanks Sherry. The other forums I am looking at seem to have arrived at the consensus that ST tires are old school and still made to keep old machinery and plants working. They are saying that an LTX tire rated for high speed and the proper load rating is far superior to the old ST tires. There are even some tire engineers in those discussions. After you read what they have to say about ST tires vs LT tires, it would be hard for me to put another ST tire on an RV. One of the things that they bring up is that the ST tires are not certified above 65mph because they have inferior design and materials. Since they are made for trailers without passengers, they have to go through way less testing and regulation. On the websites of these ST tire manufacturers, they warn you that after three years, these tires have lost one third of their integrity. If they were marginal when new, think about what they are like after loosing one third of their integrity. It's like rolling the dice with your RV trailer. Considering the residual damage they can cause to your trailer when they fail, it seems like a very small price to pay to upgrade to LT tires. Airstream has as an option for LT tires and 16 inch wheels. They are retrofitting these on many of the Airstreams in use, as their owners are getting fed up with catastrophic tire failures and tires that become deformed after a few thousand miles. Some of these tire failures have cost thousands of dollars in residual damage to the trailers. From what I can gather from all of the input on this subject; If you pull between 55-65 mph, and not during the hot part of the day, you will probably be OK with the ST tires. If you are not able to keep within these parameters, think about LT tires and maybe 16 inch wheels. One of the reasons some of these ST tires are hard to find or not made anymore is because the plants that made them were outdated with old machinery. Most of the ST tires are made in China now. According to some of the forums I have been reading, Maxxis 8008E ST tires are some of the best out there for a trailer tire. I am trying to get this all figured out because I know the trailer I bought and will pick up soon has the orgional tires, which, depending on when they were manufactured, should be about 6 years old now. Steve
  17. Has anyone put 16 inch wheels and light truck tires on their Oliver?
  18. I have just acquired an Oliver and am looking forward to using it. I won't pick it up for a month or so. In the mean time I am trying to learn as much as I can so that when I pick it up it's not a mystery. I have been lurking on this forum for a while and learning a lot .
