xdr Posted May 28 Posted May 28 We have a new 2026 Elite II with the new pull down shades. One of our shades will only retract half way. The other three shades retract at least 3/4 of the way up. All of them are a bit finicky to use. Any advice on how to get the shades to retract properly? It almost feels like it a spring inside needs to be re-rolled to give it tension to roll up. Thanks-
Moderators topgun2 Posted May 28 Moderators Posted May 28 Zane - Most of us do not have your type of shades on our windows. I'd either call and/or open a Service ticket. Both of these can be done by clicking on the "Service" tab located in the dark blue area at the top of this page. Good luck. It’s just a normal roller shade, nothing unique to Oliver, so doing a general web search on roller shades might help. Mine are working fine but I think (remembering to when I’ve used them before) if it’s kinda stuck just pull down to the bottom of the window to reset the mechanism. Regarding “the others retract to at least 3/4 of the way up” - I think you mean they leave 1/4 hanging when fully retracted? That’s not right, all of mine only leave an inch or two of the shade hanging. Anyhow so far been trouble free for me. The design has been around forever, seems like an early 20th century invention, anyhow should be easy to work with. No, interesting it has an even longer history Quote Roller blinds were invented in the early 1700s in Holland. Originally known as "Holland blinds" or "Scotch Holland," they were made from starched linen mounted on wooden rollers. The modern, spring-loaded mechanism that allows them to retract automatically was patented later, in 1855 4 Oliver Elite II Twin 2026 (all the upgrades) Sierra EV AT4 2026 (max range 500 mile pack)
