Going Coastal Posted August 1, 2023 Posted August 1, 2023 I have one of my rear drums not spinning freely. I called around to our local Napa and O'Reillys and both said they don't turn drums anymore. If I replace my drum(s), is it worth it to purchase the Dexter E-Z Lubes? I'm guessing the center piece that you grease, sticks out more than a standard drum. Will these drums work with my 2017 rims or will I need to change my centercaps? Moderators topgun2 Posted August 1, 2023 Moderators Posted August 1, 2023 GC - Remember that the EZ Lubes do not really free you from bearing maintenance. I'm not aware of that many (if any) owners that have made this switch. I'd send a PM to Jason in Service and see if he has any experience with this. Moderator+ ScubaRx Posted August 2, 2023 Moderator+ Posted August 2, 2023 I don’t think that would be what you want to do. Like Bill said, it doesn’t free you from bearing maintenance. The EZ Lube system is really only useful in situations where the axles are completely submerged in water—often. Going Coastal Posted August 2, 2023 Author Posted August 2, 2023 Thank you Bill and Steve!!! I thought wth EZ Lube you just squirt more grease in, push out the old...didn't realize you still had to repack them. Will keep what I have. Thanks again!!! Wandering Sagebrush Posted August 2, 2023 Posted August 2, 2023 It might be worth a little time to check out their Oil Bath bearings and hubs. I had them on my EZ Loader boat trailer, and I liked them a LOT! 1 Hull #364 - The Roadrunner 2023 F350 CCLB SRW 6.7L
