  1. [postquote quote=174764][/postquote] We are thinking the same thing John! Hey quick question, do you know what type of calk I should use?
  2. Having never towed anything as big as our Oliver before, I add the ASA Electronic backup camera for a little piece of mind. With 2 years and 20,000 miles behind me, it clearly helped many times. Last trip out to the Rally, the screen was all cloudy. I thought maybe the camera was just dirty. A closer look found that it was full of moisture! I sent ASA an email and that got right back to me. Bad seal was the diagnosis. They issued a RMA and I removed it and shipped it out to them. A week later I got a Brand new camera. No charge. Got to love companies who do things right. Thanks ASA, you have a customer for life.
  3. Can I craft you a shower mat for your Oliver. Treat your feet and add an impressive upgrade to your Oliver shower. Boat builders count on Mahogany & Teak for their ability to stand up to water and the elements. My shower mats are made from sustainable Honduras Mahogany. They are a half lap design inspired by old ship grates. I use brass screw instead of glue for a lifetime of service. There are 28 real rubber feet on the bottom to provide a sure grip and allow water to flow to the drain. Shower mats - $199 plus USPS 2/3 day shipping to your address. To order email me at 48ocean@gmail.com Please note: These are wood and as such will need a little care from time to time. After each shower, simply tilt the mat up toward your closet wall and let it dry. Every few months scrub them with a soft bristle brush let dry complete. Apply a light coat of mineral oil will keep them looking new for years.
  4. Thank you Sherry! That really means a lot to me and is the real reason I work in wood. Foy
  5. I got tired of seeing my Anderson hitch chains looking rusted and I knew paint was only going to be temporary solution. I considered replacing the chains with plastic/rubberized covered chains but found a lower cost option. I used Techflex Flexo Clean Cut 1 1/2-Inch Braided Cable Sleeve, in black - 10 Feet. Amazon sells it for $8 - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007VT09LS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The 10 foot length is perfect to cover both chains in my case. It cuts clean with scissors and the ends can be burnished with a lighter. You can still see through the braiding to make sure you have no twisted in the chain and it only took a few minutes to put on over the chains. I used tie-straps braided through the last chain links on both ends to hold them in place.

  9. After making my wife the first cutting board and shower mat for our Oliver over 2 years ago, I have made over 90 to date. I never thought so many of you would appreciate my craft and I thank you all. In that time, I have used 2,500 board feet of mahogany and with the need for another shipment of lumber I will be increasing my prices as the price of mahogany lumber has gone up. If you have an order in my queue you price will NOT increase, including those who ordered and are picking up their Olivers in 2020. New price for cutting boards increases from $75 to $85 plus shipping. New price for shower mats increases from $189 to $199 plus shipping. If I can craft a cutting board or shower mat for you, please email me at 48ocean@gmail.com
  10. We too were told we needed to move and that if the work was done before the Rally they would move us back. As I am part of the Rally team I called to find out how many people were asked to move and it is 9 in total. Can't say I am happy about it but it will be fine, it a beautiful park and campground.
  11. I think it was 8" long. Trailer is in Hohenwald for service otherwise I would measure it for you.

  13. Thanks Overland! I was shooting for 3/4" on the center strut in my original prototype but, it was not sturdy enough for my liking. I ended up laminating two 3/4" pieces together to get the rigidity I wanted. Last thing I wanted was it to collapse on someone sleeping or getting in & out on the bed.
  14. A new Oliver owner asked if I could craft a platform providing additional sleeping area between their two twin bed configuration. The project got my curiosity going and would require a fair level of planning to do right so just the kind of thing I love. I had seen other owners do similar things by adding a board across the two bed risers that hold the mattresses in place but, I discovered from talking to Oliver that, these risers are not designed to take a great deal of downward pressure. The design I came to is strong yet, light weigh while transferred the weight load to the flood and not on to the raisers. Two legs pieces interlock into a thick center strut, provide weight distribution and “horns” on the top of the legs lock the top board and legs in place. This is a large platform - 50” in length by 18” in width and 18" in height, it needed to fold-down for storage, stainless steel hinges allow the center strut and top board to fold to a compact package - 25” x 18” x 6”. Spring loaded latches secure it together when in use. Space is always a premium in our trailers and leveraging the dinette seat cushions which, fit perfectly, meant an additional cushion was not a requirement. Note: depending the height of your mattresses the level of the platform can be made taller or shorter. We have 10" mattresses and the customer has 7". Complimenting the Oliver interior lead me to select cabinet grade oak plywood with a white mike paint finish to show off the wood grain and match the interior. Also a nod to Frank Lloyd Wright for overall design esthetics never hurts. If you're interested in more sleeping room for your twin bed configuration or have a pet that likes to sleep with you but just not enough room for Fido at your feet, message me, I’d be happy to craft you one too.
  15. Hello Steph & Steve, Thanks! Very good question and one I had not thought about completely. Cutting boards are on average 7/8" thick and have a 1/4" sink bowl insert cut into the bottom side of the board. This leave 5/8" of an inch above the sink. The outer edge is rounded over which allows for your finger to better lift the board. See image below: That said, I when out to our Oliver and tried to lift the cutting board one handed. This prove very easy with just two finger. See image below: If you or your partner have dexterity issues, I can easily drill a finger hole in a tasteful and leverageable location on the cutting board, allowing you to just reach in with a finger and lift it up.

  17. Hello Duane, Nice to e-meet you. It would be my pleasure to craft a cutting board for your Oliver. I see from your signature line that you have a 2018 Elite. Is that correct? If so, they have the smaller sink and I have made ones for other Oliver Elite owners. Please send me an email at 48ocean@gmail.com so I can send you my template to confirm your sink size. I look forward to working with you.
  18. Great idea! Send you an email with our quick list.
  19. Mirna and I want to thank everyone for coming to the Micro Rally! We had a wonder time and hope everyone else did as well. Our goal was to get to know more Oliver owners in a wonderful campground on the beach and we did just that. Over the course of the week we had 11 trailers and 18 people join us. We traded stories, knowledge and campgrounds we loved to visit and even had potential Oliver owners join us for dinner. While many of us did not know each other well, we left with new friends and bonds that will last a lifetime. Special thanks to Oliver and Matt Duncan for the gifts and Bill (Topgun) for making all of us winners! I would personally like to thank Mike and Krunch for keeping our Fish Fry dry & clean, all of you who brought delicious side dishes to make the meal a true feast! For those of you thinking about doing something like a Micro Rally in your local state, I would highly recommend it. It is a bit of planning but what you create and gain far outweighs the effort many times over. If we can help you think about planning or answer questions about how to do this, please reach out to us. Owning an Oliver makes you part of a wonderful family and getting together is great fun!
  20. Yes its the pump. If you recall I had problems with plastic in my fresh water tank from the Water pickup upgrade. I am still dealing with it as not all the plastic has been removed.
  21. I understand my Oliver is a complex group of systems and third-party products. That said, two things keep my tolerance in check - first, Oliver. No matter what, how many or for what reason, they have always said “Not a problem Mr. Sperring we will take care of it.” Second, this forum. The people here care for one another and truly want to help. Whether it’s an opinion or hard learned knowledge. Time and time again you all have helped me. I hope I can return the favor as my experience grows.
  22. With 5 days of straight rain we have had plenty of time inside. So organize and clean. While cleaning the outside of the microwave I notice my paper towel was catching on the corners of the stainless steel frame round the microwave. Looking closer I found three of the frames corner have stress cracks. See other phots below I can only surmise this is form installation or the microwave is not fullly suppprted and movement is stressing the material. Anyone’s else have this happening or ideas of why? As always, this form and been amazing and I truly appreciate all who contribute to it.
