    Definition of flash mob

:  a group of people summoned (as by e-mail or text message) to a designated location at a specified time to perform an indicated action before dispersing.

  2. Holey Cow, Sherry ! Have you just set in motion the very first OLIVER FLASH MOB ?

Hey, I am up for it ! See everyone at ONE O'CLOCK EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME SUNDAY MAY THE 14TH !

A Mother's Day Oliver flash mob event ! Now that's pretty cool stuff Sherry !

  3. This is the way we loaded the gas cans at the end of the season up above 10 thousand feet where we were off grid for over 110 days each year. Our 3000 watt Yamaha generator holds a bit less than three gallons of gasoline, mounted on the Oliver tongue, so the last of the gas was put there, with the empty can carried on the roof rack. The small gas can contained chainsaw oil/gas mix and the last of it was put in the saw, and the saw in it's case. The small saw gas can was carried on the rear rack empty. Now to the casual observer this may have looked dangerous but the empty cans never presented a threat to us.

  4. Betty and I are currently in S/W Arkansas and the forums slow response speeds coupled with our 3G connection make getting on the forums difficult.

As a former KEYMASTER that was reduced to MODERATOR without notification, I feel that my input will have little if any weight in the conversation. I no longer get a heads up from the IT  department when they make changes, so I find some of those changes baffling.

As the builder of the original forums I recruited all of the current moderators with the exception of one that was appointed by the IT department. So our moderators now communicate directly with the IT department when they experience issues.  The moderators no longer have the authority that they had in the past and their suggestions seem to not influence the forums operation. I find that I am somewhat out of the loop since my demotion from keymaster status and since I received no courtesy call, my conclusion was that the newly appointed keymaster was handling the things that I had felt were in my job area.

  5. Much like you guys we tried several ways of storing the bags, but like the one in the doorway, it was just always in the way.  Every gentle breeze would make a plastic bag "harsh rustling sound". Our trash can was space that is designated, out of the way, and the extra bags are lurking in the bottom out of sight, yet at the ready.

  6. Larry, I found your article informative and reflective, we have made winter camping a seasonal routine. One of our favorite sites is Canaan Valley State park, it’s open year round. Electric and sewer at each site with water and laundry available at the bath house. Activities include downhill and crosscountry skiing, snowshoe, and hiking. I am curious to know if and where you mounted your wave heater. Also did you run a dedicated gas line? Kenny and Kay

Mounted it below the closet door. Relocated the courtesy light. Dedicated gas line with a shut off valve and a quick connect just ahead of the regulator.

  7. Great idea about the pump fed from the tow vehicle. A tank could be put in the back of the TV and then driven to the trailer. Then hooked to the Oliver for filling. No lifting of any sort required. Easy on the knees and back. We have made a small trailer that has a tank and pump salvaged from an old RV. We tow it with a Gator to water the garden and flowers. Was thinking at a boondocking rally it could be towed to fill anyone that might need water by a golf cart. Would just need somebody with a “Honey Wagon”, to backfill the dump station…

That is the way we do it at our favorite close to home, boondocking site. We have a water tank, pump and fresh water hose on the trailer. We also carry a "blue boy" 35 gallon black water caddy on wheels that can roll up the trailer's loading ramp. We will go to town every week or two to dump black water, sanitize the tank, and bring fresh water back to camp, during a grocery run. The lawn mower loading ramp at the back of the trailer lets us load a small chest type deep freeze and a dormitory size refrigerator on those times that we are with a large group. As gallons of frozen distilled water are taken from the freezer to a ice chest to keep things cool and then can be used as potable water later, the freezer space is filled with fresh caught fish to freeze for later use. Our rough old utility trailer comes in handy when we are not too far from our home base docking port. Here is a look at that old trailer:

You might note the blueboy tank nearby. We use a miracle grow sprayer hose attachment and diluted Clorox to sanitize the tank and trailer at the dump station

  8. I can only recall a couple of Oliver's that can water fill using gravity flow. Some folks have thought they would like to have the option but I don't know if it was ever installed. Here is simple pump I put together and run from a battery jump start pack. I know of several owners that have put together similar set ups. Some of those pumps run from power supplied by the rear bumper of the tow vehicle's 7 way plug outlet.

  9. Larry, Excuse my ignorance, but how is this thing used? Are you pushing the unthreaded end up into the faucet? Looks like something I need to add to my tool bag. Stan

Yes, you have it ! It is a friction fit, though as they age and wear, they can leak a little. I have seen them with a automotive hose clamp on them to make for a tighter fit. New ones seal quite well though.
