  1. The guys at the plant tell me that the Pony Express is ready to roll, the demonstrator model is shinning like new money and we need to get ready to roll !

Betty is packing the jeep with our plunder that we will need during this extended time out on the road, and we leave out for the factory in Tennessee in the morning !

We are looking forward to seeing you out on the tour !

  2. I have been following the roof air topic with interest. The choices seem to be noisy with all the cool you want, versus quiet with reduced capability. We like the gentle heat provided by the electric heat strip while hooked to shore power, and we like for the fan to shut down when the thermostat is satisfied.

This is a classic RV issue that many full timers resolve by migrating North and South with the temperatures, with most seeking low to mid 70's. The savings on propane and generator fuel if boondocking is noteworthy.

Roof air manufacturers do not seem to be in a rush to resolve noise and other problems most likely because of cost. There is just not much available out there that meets all of the Rver's needs.

As full timers, Betty and I start thinking about relocating, moving on down the road, anytime we have to run the heat or air. That luxury isn't available to everyone so here's hoping that roof air manufacturer's get their act together soon !

  3. I heard sometime back about a owner that had a couple of the Coleman factory rivets come out and they said that it was quite noisy when running. I have looked on these forums and can't find that post so it was likely on another forum somewhere. Have you , by any chance looked at the ac cover to see if something could be loose ? I know that my ac got loud after a wind storm and I found a tree limb had cracked the plastic housing. Replacement cleared the noise right on up. It was a simple ladder and screw driver fix.

  4. In that grainy old cell phone photo, we are boondocking at 10,022 feet of elevation in the front range of the Rocky Mountains, within 100 yards of the very cool Cumbres pass steam excursion train station. Located eighteen miles North of Chama New Mexico, it is just barely in Colorado. There is a USFS campground a few miles away, but we wanted the exotic ambiance of the ancient train station with all of it's sights , sounds, and smells of days gone by. We could hear that steam engine pulling hard for miles before it began to blow it's whistle at the yard limit marker and start slowing for it's stop at the station. Soon the brakeman and the engineer are swinging out the large water tank pipe to top off the train's water reservoir. The ringing of the train's bell and the calls of the Conductor and porters as they gave arrival and departure information was quite a experience and, it was all in the front yard of our free boondocking campsite !

Oh, yeah ! Boondocking, it's the bomb !

  5. It won't be long before we are out there touring again. Plans for the Summer of 2015 tour are well in process. Have you some suggestions for stops and visits ? Be sure to send them in to Robert at the sales office in Hohenwald ! Hoping to see you this Summer !

  6. Betty and I had the 3000 efi Yamaha in a front basket and it worked well. However for convenience we turned the generator so that the exhaust was towards the Oliver. Soon black from the exhaust began to stain the fiberglass, so I had a small 90* tube welded onto the exhaust pipe which cleared the problem right on up.

We never noticed any CO2 issues.

  7. During our extended boondocking stay at the primitive Housley Point's Big Fir campground we have our support trailer with us to provide water as needed. Here is a link to a You Tube video of the pump in action as Betty and I refilled our fresh water tank. The set up is very straight forward and simple to operate using a automobile jump start battery pack and a spare water pump. Here is the video link:
