  1. Hello all, I just saw a possible solution for securing the drawers. The solution is shown on a Youtube video at about the 7:45 mark. One could choose a different material to coordinate with the interior finish of the Oliver. Perhaps the folks at Oliver would consider such a modification utilizing compatible material ....
  2. Hi June, At the risk of duplicating/contradicting prior posts from other good folks I would like to offer my thoughts. I am located in Maine and this will be my first winter with the OTT. I did a fair amount of research, spoke to OTT, and the manufacturers of various covers. I knew before making my purchase that indoor storage would not be a realistic option for me. I also know folks in Maine who prepare for winter by waxing the camper well and remove snow as needed. They report very positive experiences. With that info as background, I plan to use a CalMark cover as it is specifically designed not to chafe and will protect the surface from potential issues where I park my camper. (pine pitch, bird droppings, etc) You may have read other posts in a separate thread describing positive experiences with the CalMark Cover and the OTT. In my humble opinion, storage for the OTT is like finding a pair of shoes: you must find what fits you. FYI: After washing, waxing and winterizing I plan to use pool noodles (slit as needed) on the edges of the solar panels. I will also strategically place some pool noodles behind the awning to raise the cover a bit and eliminate the 'valleys' on the roof. I may create a lightweight 'skirt' to avoid build up or drifting snow beneath the unit. This will make it easier for me to 'unwrap' if I decide to bug out before the snow on the ground has disappeared. I used this general approach(noodles, skirt and cover) for many winters with considerable snow on both my boat and a prior camper with fiberglass sides and had very good results . Congratulations on your purchase of the OTT. I am truly enjoying mine and continue to be impressed with the design and quality of the trailer! Good luck with however you choose to store your OTT!
  3. I was planning to travel across Tennessee when I saw this thread. I scheduled a service appointment with OTT and took a detour to Hohenwald on September 28. As always, I received OUTSTANDING customer service. Turned out, the inverter in my trailer was properly grounded. I was able to ask a few questions to clarify my understanding of the trailer and greatly appreciated the plain spoken and thorough explanations. I continue to enjoy my trailer and am often asked by strangers 'How d'ya like it?' My immediate reply: 'this trailer has exceeded my expectations!' Many thanks to all the folks at Oliver who have designed, produced and support what in my opinion is an exceptional piece of camping equipment!
  4. I recently cleaned the window seals by removing them and soaking in a bowl with white vinegar and water. There were a few stubborn spots so I quickly dipped the seal in a dilution of water and bleach, rinsed well and let the seal dry before reinstalling. Mine looked like your pictures(or worse!) and now look like new!
  5. Hello folks, I have 2 dogs so I also grappled with this concern. I have been using the Tempstick (described in the list provided by ScubaRx and reviewed by Long, long Honeymoon on YouTube). Tempstick does indeed need a wifi hotspot. It can be set to alert me as the temp reaches a setting of my choice AND I can monitor in 'real time' from my phone whenever I wish. The setup was very easy. The customer service was excellent when I had questions before and after purchase. I try to be VERY careful to not leave the app 'open' on my phone as it will continuously send/receive and use significant amounts of data! (an oops that goes cha ching!) Realistically, there will be areas where there is a weak or no signal. In that event I plan to simply forego leaving my dogs unattended. The initial cost for the Tempstick, the cost of the hotspot and the added $10/mo for said hotspot has been well worth it for me. Hope this helps! Happy Trails!
  6. Hello all, I also purchased a ventilation product(Aire-Flow) before taking delivery of my TT. I opted for the latex mattresses and decided the extra ventilation might be beneficial and relatively cheap insurance for the costly latex mattresses! Aire-Flow ventilation material is not inexpensive. I ordered it online from Mattress Insider. (Very good customer service) Based upon my experiences so far, I have no regrets....despite having camped in conditions with wide swings in temp and humidity I have no mold under the latex mattresses . The Aire-Flow material is a light weight mesh that somehow maintains it's thickness. It looks like scrunched up strands of plastic. The product arrives with a fabric backing. You will notice an extra 3-4 inches of fabric attached along the length of one side. When cutting to size(to follow the shape of the mattress) I noticed the 'cut' edge felt very sharp. I should add: I used the leftover/scrap edge of Aire-Flow to create a vertical barrier between the exterior wall and the mattress. But once all pieces were loosely fitted in place I then had these sharp edges below and beside the mattress! I feared a bad scratch when I made the bed or puncturing/ruining my bottom sheets. As I mentioned, the product arrives with an extra 3-4 inches of fabric attached to the length of one side. This flap of fabric can be folded over to cover one edge. But the remaining edges? My solution was to take a scrap of the Aire Flow fabric backing material to a fabric store and purchase a similar fabric. (I believe the fabric is commonly used on the underside of upholstered furniture) It was the exact same color/appearance and less than $1/yd. I cut long strips of the fabric about 6" wide and folded them over the remaining exposed edge of the Aire Flow. I used a heavy duty needle and crudely attached the strips of fabric threading through the open spaces on the aire-flow. This solution has worked well for me. I hope this information is helpful. I appreciate all the info I have obtained by reading this forum!
