  1. Mike –

I like it – nice job. Care to share the dimensions of each piece of the PVC?

Will this picture suffice for measurements?

Is that one bag filled with suction cups and are those used to secure the curtain to the sides of the Oliver?

Yes they are Harbor Freight aluminum suction cups holding the frame to the hull.  They are the most expensive parts used, but they do double up in the closet to secure our camp chairs with a bungee cord.
I do like multiple uses for any equipment we carry while traveling.

Assuming that you use this on the other side of the Oliver, have you used it with the outside shower – is the hose long enough?

You just had to make fun of me for installing this on the curb side, didn’t you. ?  It was easier to take pictures on this side but I included  some from the street side just for you, Bill.

Krunch picked up the shower curtains someplace cheap.  She didn’t like the clear vinyl ones I bought.  The shower curtains do need to be secured in windy conditions.

Hopefully these pictures are right side up.

  2. I was trying to figure out a way to reduce grey water production and have a larger shower and came up with this mod. It doesn’t take long to set up and it affords us some privacy.

The first pic is the gear bundled for storage and travel.

The second pic shows the frame installed.

The third pic has the shower curtain installed and ready for use.

And before everyone has a laugh ? at my expense, these pictures are on the curb side for demonstration purposes only. There is too much vegetation on the street side for pictures.

  3. Actually it is a piece of 1/2” pvc pipe with chair leg cups on each end and 2 small Harbor Freight suction cups for each set of drawers. When parked, we use the setup inside or out for hanging wet things. And after seeing a recent mod for a shower curtain, I believe it will work for that as well. I also have a similar setup for an outside shower curtain. Got to love pvc.

  4.

Is there a way to merge the camera system signal from the rear of the trailer, electronic or hardwire, so I do not have to mount another monitor?

    Thanks

    Coy aka Hardrock

There is a way to do this if your truck display has RCA connectivity. Jensen makes the Voyager cameras Oliver is installing. They also make a wireless receiver that will connect to non Voyager equipment through RCA connectors. So if your truck monitor has RCA connectivity this receiver would plug into it and should display the rear view camera output. Your GMC dealer may be able to answer the question about the RCA connections. See the attached pictures from Rvcams.com and be sure to read the fine print about camera compatibility. Also check with www.rvcams.com for support. Let me know if you need any further assistance.

I personally use the rear view camera whenever the Ollie is connected. I turn the rear view mirror toward the ceiling or temporarily remove it and place the Voyager display high in place of the mirror. Looking at the Ollie in my rear view mirror drives me nuts so I eliminate that view.

  5. MontanaOliver, are you planning to run that chain through the wheels? It looks pretty large…

Sorry about not being more clear…I purchased two different lengths in two different cross sectional sizes. 1/2″ and 3/8″ with the smaller one sheathed in a protective wrap (basic hydraulic hose sleeve). I plan to use which ever will fit through the wheel holes. If the 1/2″ works, I’ll run to Tractor Supply or a hyd hose shop and purchase some hose protective sleeve and duplicate the ABUS chain.

I also purchased two different lock shackle diameters:

Abus 37HB/55KA-5544653 RK Granit Extreme Security Steel Padlock – 2″

Abus 37RK/70 Granit Extreme Security Steel Padlock

    ABUS chain

I have owned an Abus chain and lock for nearly 20 years. It is used for motorcycle security. I tried to run it through the holes in the Ollie wheels, didn’t fit. The link diameter measures 15/32” and the total width of the chain is 1-9/16”. I am going to call that the 1/2” chain and not the 3/8” chain Roguebooks posted.

  6. My wife is in Great Sand Dunes NP in Colorado and she called to let me know that she thought she had seen an Ollie in the park today. Of course, when I questioned her about the sighting a got nothing useful. So if you were there today remember,”you can run but you can not hide”. Enjoy the cold weather, as she has been snowed on 3 different days at the park.

  7. Congratulations on you new Ollie. Sounds like you are making up for the Cannonball run to Hohenwald by taking time to smell the roses on your trip home. Enjoy the slow lane. Safe travels back to AK.

  8. Medeco locks are part of the ASSA ABLOY Group. I have a house full of Medeco door locks and I am very satisfied with their products. The communications industry has used the Medeco brand of locks at remote and secure facilities for years. The locks and keys are controlled through the Medeco dealer network, so you have to buy from them. Check the dealer tab at this site for locations and additional information.

  9. Prior to buying #193, it was parked at a commercial RV storage facility under roof. I brought it home to mid Florida in January. It is stored in my driveway exposed to the weather. With the tree cover it may receive 40 to 50% sun light and the tree cover on the battery box side is 90%. The Hydrolink hose has been stored inside the trailer 100% of the time. And it hasn’t gotten hot in Florida yet. I’ll be in Howenwald after the rally and will discuss it with Jason. I should reach out Trojan as well.

I just wanted to ask the forum if anyone else had seen this problem.

  10. On hull 193, the shower head holder is bolted to the closet wall with nylon lock nuts in the closet. If you remove 1 of those, you could determine the bolt length. The bolt is flush to the nut so I believe it was trimmed in place. I have also thought about “well nuts” for locations were access to the back side in not accessible although I haven’t tried it yet.
