  1. DonnaScott73,

First congrats on your Ollie delivery date!
To answer your question, we took delivery last June 16th and we did receive hard copies of the manuals. They are really handy and well done. As far as I know you still get a printed copy. We were told by our sales person that we would receive an electrical schematic or diagram for our Ollie on delivery day. Unfortunately we did not receive a diagram. We did spend a long time going over our Ollie on delivery day, just something to consider and prepare for. There is a lot of information flowing on delivery day sorta - like drinking from a fire hose.
A few months ago we asked via an email to OTT service for an electrical schematic/diagram. We still have not received an electrical schematic for our Oliver. It sure would be nice to have one. I don’t know if an electrical schematic is provided for 2021 model Ollies or not. Maybe someone else will chime in.

    Again welcome and congrats!

Douthat State Park in VA, is an outstanding campground; we have reservations for a few day in May.  There are several campgrounds associated with this park, we like the Whispering Pines it only has 22 sites and they are very large all back in sites with water and electric plus a double dump station when leaving.  You will need reservations, not much chance of getting a site in Whispering Pines without reservations.

Maverick - we are booked at Douthat SP in Whispering Pines May 23-27, maybe we will see y’all there!

  3. Meg,

Being a fairly new Oliver owner (less than a year) I can tell you we have used our microwave on a few stormy camping nights to heat homemade soups, chili’s, hot cereal and meals in general. We were so glad to have it. We actually upgraded to the convection/micro. I can honestly say we are reeeeally happy to have had it. And like Bill said no credit returned for opting out on the micro. We also thought about resale down the road as we chose specific options. Just another view point.
    Enjoy your time selecting options!

Is propane tank theft really an issue at campgrounds?  We seem to spend a lot of time worrying about trailer theft, etc. I haven't camped as much as most of you, so maybe I'm just naive or ignorant.

As Mike mentioned and I agree LP tank theft is not a big issue, and  likely will never be if you secure your tanks. For a 5 minute mod why not? We always make it a point when the opportunity presents, to kindly great our camping neighbors and say hello. As for RV theft...very rare, so no worries here.

For anyone that now owns an 890 -

Garmin has released a system update and it takes about 10 minutes to complete the install.

    Bill,

Thank you, I appreciate the heads up. Done!

I've been struggling (thinking too much) about how to attach the Camco furnace screen.  The springs simply don't work as you mentioned.  Looks like you fabricated a brace to connect to the screws holding the furnace cover on and then connected the screen to the braces?  Tough to see what you did in the picture, but I'm sure interested!  Thanks!

NCeagle - I used four pieces of fine SS wire. Looped it through the screen back out to a fastening point on the screen twisted it together snug and snipped the excess wire. Done. You would have to look hard to see the wire.

Yeah, it's a whole different topic, but I was thinking more of folks that want to cool down their trailer before pulling into the campsite and so run it while driving.  Maybe that's just for the big "RVs" with built in generators.  I don't know if it would actually work to run the generator in the basket while driving to "pre-cool" the trailer if pulling in late.

Oh I see what you mean. Cool! pun intended! 😊

I didn't think of an extension cord.  I was looking at the twist lock variety since I would be worried about it working it's way out while driving.

NCeagle -This is what I use for stationary or campsite use. I am not quite sure what you mean while out driving? When in transport I unplug the gen, I secure the cord.  It stores nicely.
