We also got the recall notice for our 2022 LE II Hull No. 1291, even though we bought the factory upgrade to the 2-5/16"  Bulldog coupler.  As you would expect, our coupler reads "12500 lbs."  Oliver is just being overinclusive, to be safe.

And so did I, thankfully I found out with my brother checking my mail!

I wrote to Oliver Service just to let them know that it doesn't apply to my Oliver, as I also have the 2-5/16" 12,500# Bulldog. I appreciate OTT for sending the notice.

  2. I have been following this thread (when I log onto the computer)... I learned to grease my zerks last year during my first "long" trip. No problems. But this year, when I greased them, there were 2 that did not accept the grease the way I expected.

Thank you to all the members of the Oliver Family who help those of us who are learning. This thread is very helpful.

While you've got the cubby insert removed and have inspected that "great space" under the sink - try considering replacing the insert with one of these and adding a shelf to store toiletries and stuff:

That looks great! I'd vote for that to be a suggestion to OTT Mothership Design Team!

That’s the goal!  Looking forward to the nighttime temps…. Mike

Two nights ago it was 27 degrees here along the Taylor River in my Gunnison NF dispersed camp site. I'm going to be sorry to leave this weather when I move on!

PS @topgun2 -- yesterday I finally spotted 3 Moose right along the river, just down the road (closer to the reservoir). No Elk, but Doe with spotted Fawns. This has been a wonderful area.

    Does anyone here use Roadpass?

Your question made me curious so I researched some more..... RoadPass made an announcement back in 2021 about adding Campendium to their .... product line of apps. In that announcement, they stated, "Roadpass Digital is a technology joint-venture between THOR Industries and Tourism Holdings Limited. Roadpass Digital is focused on making it easier to experience, own, and maintain recreational vehicles as well as more easily discover, book, and navigate road trips. Roadpass Digital has offices in ChicagoCincinnati, and Auckland. Learn more about Roadpass Digital and its CampendiumRoadtrippersRVillage, and Togo RV products at roadpass.com."

If you click the links in their announcement, you will find that "As of March 31, 2023 the RVillage website and mobile apps are no longer available and end user support for those products has ended."  Also, for the Togo RV, "No more switching between apps. Togo RV is now integrated into Roadtrippers Premium!" (in other words, you have to buy the premium version to access it.)  And RoadTrippers is "based on what we've learned from over 38 million trips" and "AI-base Autopilot"....

Here's hoping that the continued use of Campendium apps prevents them from killing it off.

If you have not visited it already, tour Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP. Breath taking!

Thanks -  I have not been there. I will add it to my list!

**EDIT -The closures on Rt 50 that I mentioned are between Gunnison and Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP. While their website stated it would be open (one lane only) some other campers here went there 2 or 3 days ago and it was still closed. Be sure to check the road status before you plan to travel through that area.**

It's possible to get there, but it might be the long way around. Sometimes that is the best way!

We’re leaving for Colorado tomorrow, maybe we’ll cross paths!

Be sure to check road conditions -- Route 50 closed in sections (bridge work) and also some local flooding last week. I will keep my eyes peeled for Olivers on the road!

Looks like the common scheme to get new accounts by linking prospects to some other service.

My impression is that Campendium (highly successful) was too much competition for RoadPass, so they acquired it and plan to kill it off in order to .... What? Acquire user data? Sell user data? I don't believe they provide the same service, so it's hard to say what they are doing.

    Does anyone here use Roadpass?

I have used Campendium (which I like pretty well) and when they sent notice that they were going to 'change' login requirements for Campendium to require a 'RoadPass account' I went ahead and signed up for a RoadPass account -- but I have never paid for any of it.

RoadPass (the developer) has a competing app called RoadTrippers. The RoadTrippers experience made me want to vomit. It's like Travel Planning for people who don't want to think for themselves at all (sorry to be blunt) -- they create your route and tell you where to go and what to see. In fact, it seems to send you to all the most-crowded places (someone here can correct me if I'm wrong about that.)  Ummm.... No Thanks. My Campendium app still shows dispersed camping spots, even though articles stated that the app would be disabled in a few weeks (reported in FEB 2024). I do NOT pay for Premium. Other people have told me that they don't see dispersed camping any more on their  Campendium app, ever since RoadPass takeover (they use iPad). I use the iPhone Campendium app and am signed in using the RoadPass user account.

I have since started using iOverlander. It's not as user friendly, imo. The maps are harder to read. I find iOverlander easier to use on a computer, and I have gained good information from users notes. There seem to be two different versions of iOverlander (on my iphone, one app is dark orange with white logo, the other is white with dark orange logo; I haven't been able to distinguish them.) Again, I do not pay for any of it. Neither of the iOverlander apps show the area where I am currently boondocked.

    I hope this helps.

Spy any moose down there in the willows?

    How are the bugs?

    Bill

Moose and Elk have been spotted by other people a week or so ago, but I haven't seen them yet. I watch, especially during morning and evening hours. Lots of deer including newborn spotted fawns. Lots of birds, though not as many raptors as I expected. I haven't had any issues with bugs -- I suspect because I'm perched on an open ridge overlooking the river, and the wind blows steadily. In the forest areas, it's a different story.

We are venturing into new territory this summer...Voyageurs, Isle Royale and Minnesota's North Shore.

I almost volunteered in that territory last summer, at Grand Portage National Monument. Almost... Once the park staff suggested "impenetrable clothing" to ward off the attack of mosquitoes, I decided to head elsewhere. That said, I have been to Duluth and along portions of Lake Superior and north of Ely in the Winter and it's spectacular.

If you are near Duluth and enjoy birdwatching, there are numerous places to go, including:

    Hawk Ridge   https://www.hawkridge.org/

    Sax-Zim Bog   https://saxzim.org/

Near Ely there is Voyageur Outward Bound School and they have sled dogs (you can see and hear them from the road, but they don't allow you to pet them.)

    Enjoy!

I even suspected that the "battery heater blanket" that Oliver installs could be malfunctioning... even though it's obviously not below freezing... but the battery BMS is showing 78 degrees... which is about ambient air temp here in Ohio... so I don't think that's the problem either

Last year, I found that the toggle switch on my lithium battery blanket was faulty — it would easily trip to “ON” with the slightest bump — meaning any road vibration could trip to ON position. It didn’t seem to trip to the OFF position . I asked OTT to service, when I passed through at the end of my trip last fall.

  13. I recently spent 12 days boondocking in the Kaibab NF, near Marble Canyon, overlooking the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. FS 611 (Forest Service Road) is a combination of washboard, loose rock over sand, and some pits, but slow and steady got me there — about 5 miles up FS611 there are a few dispersed camping sites that are spectacular.

So, I converted my [version 2] Starlink to run off 12 volt and without cutting or modifying cables

    Thanks for sharing!
So far, I’ve been keeping everything except the dish in a waterproof box that sits on my “sofa” near the curbside window. I plug into the overhead outlet, and pass the dish through the curbside window, gently closing the screen and shades… (I have the Twin Bed Oliver E2 with one mattress and one side serving as a sofa/guest bed). I’ve found it fairly convenient, and only use about half the cord to the dish.  One day I plan to upgrade my system.

Most small generators only have a single duplex receptacle with two outlets

Thanks for this — I have a similar adapter, bought before I picked up my Oliver.
As I look, this (new to me) generator is similar to your description. The friend who gave it to me also gave me a small adapter (I will attach photos if possible). That friend had to depart, sadly, for medical care.
So far, I haven’t run down my lithium batteries to the point where I need to use the generator (after doing so once, and then waiting a couple of days for them to rejuice with the sun). But I am not using much, hardly using the microwave and never using the AC… as it gets hotter, my frugality might be confronted by my desire for some comfort.

this is the setup the EMS expects to see, but most portable generators are not set up that way. Hence the plug

    Thank you!
I was worried, because I found online other “grounding plugs” that were the 30 amp style/size.

This seemed to be one a few folks used when I did research on it back in 2022.

Thank you — I ordered it, and I am guessing it won’t come with instructions. This looks like a standard plug. I thought it would be a plug that would accept my Oliver’s 30amp plug. I guess I am going to have to trust YouTube videos to try to understand what this does to change the behavior of my OTT — if and when I trust the information and try to use this generator to boost my lithium batteries.

I did find this article useful: https://support.olivertraveltrailers.com/portal/en/kb/articles/power-management

I still need more information though, to understand what it requires.

I know this is a little late in the game but I believe Badger's solution was to purchase the bonding plug that Phil mentioned.

Much later … I have been reading various posts about this “neutral grounding plug” “neutral bonding plug” and have tried without success to access the Amazon products linked in several posts. The product links are outdated (I guess) and one leads to a Xantrex Remote Control.

Can someone please give me a more specific description of the plug, and where it’s supposed to be inserted? I was expecting to find mention in an OTT video or OTT knowledge base article, but so far I’ve failed to find it or specific information on changes (if necessary) to my Xantrex settings, so I can recharge my lithium batteries with a Pulsar Inverter Generator 2000i (a gift to me, so it’s all new territory).

    Thanks for any assistance here.
