Gliddenwoods Posted April 23 Posted April 23 i have discovered a small pin hole in the blue water line below the floor of the outside storage compartment. (See photo) Please advise repair advice. Such as what is the pipe type and what product do I use to repair? I assume I need to cut out a pipe section and replace? If so what fittings should I use? Any repair advice would be greatly appreciated. 1 2022 Oliver Legacy Elite II, Hull 1242, 9/26/22 Lithium Platinum Power/Solar Package Tow with Supercrew Cab 2019 F-150 4 x4, 5.0L 4-Valve V8 with 3.73 axle ratio & 157" wheelbase. rich.dev Posted April 23 Posted April 23 (edited) @Gliddenwoods I fixed the orientation of your pictures, and see below for a possible fix to your leak. Pretty sure you have 1/2" pex B piping in your rig, that's what we have in our 2023 LEII. I doubt you have the proper tools to crimp a joint to fix that leak, so the easiest way probably is.... 1) Shut off the water supply 2) Cut your pipe squarely and ensure both end are free of debris 3) Join the 2 end with a push to connect coupling like this You can buy these from Home Depot, Amazon etc. HERE's a link for Home Depot Edited April 23 by rich.dev 6 2023 Elite II, Hull# 1386, Lithium Platinum Package (640AH, 400W Roof Solar, 3000W Xantrex Inverter), added 400W Renogy Solar suitcase with Victron MPPT 100/30 CC, Truma water heater & AC TV: 2024 Silverado 2500HD 6.6L 10-Speed Allison
Patriot Posted April 23 Posted April 23 (edited) @Gliddenwoods Along with the push to connect or shark bite fittings you will need a pex cutter as well. $8 at HF. You can also pushase 4’ lengths of 1/2” blue and red pex at HD or Lowes. I always carry a few spares of pex (link) for quick emergency repairs of our Ollie or to help someone else out. cutters- https://www.harborfreight.com/finger-release-ratcheting-pvc-pipe-cutter-62588.html Lowes - https://www.lowes.com/pd/SharkBite-1-2-in-x-5-ft-PEX-Pipe/1000386513 Lowes - https://www.lowes.com/pd/SharkBite-Max-1-2-in-Push-to-Connect-Coupling/5014120315 Fittings - Edited April 23 by Patriot 4 2020 OLEII - Hull #634 aka- “XPLOR” TV 2021 F350 6.7 liter Diesel Lariat Ultimate Tremor Retro upgrades - Truma Aventa 13.5 AC, Alcan 5 leaf pack, Alcan HD shackles & HD wet bolts, 5200lb never lube axles. Ronbrink Posted April 24 Posted April 24 I’ve never seen or heard of a pin hole developing in pex, so I Googled it. Found a huge range of causes, mostly speculation, to include over pressuring, chemical degradation (such as chlorination), animal gnawing, physical impact, freeze exposure, manufacture defects, and so on and so forth. I would advise replacing the entire section of pex rather than splicing with a coupler at the leak point. 2 2020 OLEll, Twin, 579: No installed solar, Renogy 40A DC-DC charger, 460Ah LFP battery bank/Victron SmartShunt, auxiliary Cerbo-S GX/Victron 30A Blue Smart IP22 Charger combo, Hughes Autoformer, dual Lagun tables, extended dinette table and pantry landing, tongue-mounted hoist, Beech Lane refrigerator Ventilation/Evaporate Coil fans, Dreiha Atmos 4.4 A/C upgrade. 2019 GMC Savana 2500 Cargo Work Van: Explorer Limited SE, Low-Top 7 Passenger van conversion, 6.0L V8 Vortec, 6-Speed Automatic, RWD; Air-Lift LoadLifter air suspension/WirelessAir compressor; Buyers Products cargo containment boxes/DC Cargo securement system; pending transfer of DC-DC cable run and Mechman 320A high output alternator from former TV.
