rideadeuce Posted May 20, 2024 Posted May 20, 2024 The hardest part of this job was finding the correct part so that you do not have to drill new holes. Make sure to get one that is 5 1/2 in wide NOT 5 1/4 which most are. The one I found is from eTrailer and it is made in the USA even better. After butyl tape cures for a few days, I will put down some marine caulk. https://www.etrailer.com/RV_Vents_and_Fans/LaSalle_Bristol/34474558.html Best, Mike 3 4 - Mike Brentwood, TN - 2018 Elite II - Spirit of Adventure Hull #308 - 2016 Toyota Tundra Limited 5.7L Class IV hitch with 12k lb coupler, Weigh safe adjustable trailer hitch, Dobinsons HD 2in Leaf springs, Timbren bump stops, Dobinsons 3in coilovers and UCAs, Mechman 370 amp HO alternator. jd1923 Posted May 23, 2024 Posted May 23, 2024 @rideadeuce Mike, thanks for this. I might be going crazy. I could swear I wrote a comment on this Monday night after you posted and it's not here! Must have not clicked the Submit button. Thank you for finding the correct part, as you stated, sourcing can be the difficult front work of the job. Made in USA and reasonable, nice! Question is, what was your reason for replacing the vent? For $16, I might replace mine just to remove the ugly of the old vent and Dicor on top of Dicor mess. I'm working this summer on removing all old Dicor and caulk so someday she will be ready to apply a decent shine. Your installation is clean, nice work as always. 😂 3 Chris & John in Prescott, AZ | 2016 EII #113 | '01 Ram 2500 Cummins!
rideadeuce Posted May 23, 2024 Author Posted May 23, 2024 You can't see it in the picture but the cap posts were cracked and the screw mount that held it down had been broken as well during a wash/wax job. Kept falling off. 1 1 - Mike Brentwood, TN - 2018 Elite II - Spirit of Adventure Hull #308 - 2016 Toyota Tundra Limited 5.7L Class IV hitch with 12k lb coupler, Weigh safe adjustable trailer hitch, Dobinsons HD 2in Leaf springs, Timbren bump stops, Dobinsons 3in coilovers and UCAs, Mechman 370 amp HO alternator. Steve and Cindy Posted May 29, 2024 Posted May 29, 2024 Nice work! Did you find that the black pipe was attached to the cap? Our black pipe slips up and down an inch or so, and I don't know whether it is supposed to be attached at the roof penetration. 2024 F-250 King Ranch 6.7L Diesel | 2022 Oliver Elite II - Hull#1034 'Hullabaloo'

My black pipe had a nice bead of sealant at the hull penetration, so it didn’t move and was secure. The old cap slid off easily. I just cleaned up some foam that had been used to give it some support I guess, not really needed. 1 2 - Mike Brentwood, TN - 2018 Elite II - Spirit of Adventure Hull #308 - 2016 Toyota Tundra Limited 5.7L Class IV hitch with 12k lb coupler, Weigh safe adjustable trailer hitch, Dobinsons HD 2in Leaf springs, Timbren bump stops, Dobinsons 3in coilovers and UCAs, Mechman 370 amp HO alternator.
