Is there a trick to get the screens past the roller shades once you pop the screen out of the track? There doesn’t seem to be much clearance and I don’t want to permanently deform the screen frame. TIA and greetings from Gulf State Park!

Your 2024 has roller shades, our 2023 has accordion shades, did you switch them out? Must say I’m a little confused (maybe just me😊) as to exactly what you want to do here. If what you want to do is remove the screen completely, you have to pop off the accordion shades frame first, just pull firmly on the corners.

Here is a picture of the shades. I want to remove the screens to clean them. I see an earlier post which says the shades must be removed before removing the screen but not sure how. Thanks.

Yes I edited my op before seeing your response, you have to remove the shade frame, just pull firmly on the corners.

Thanks Rich- after being a bit apprehensive to pull off, it worked. Straightforward and simple once a newby gets good advice!

Nice! Also, if you want you can flip the shades so you can open the night shade from top down as opposed to bottom up, see this post.

Rich -

Now that you have the screens removed for cleaning:

If you live in or travel to any area of the country that has "no-see-ums" you might consider replacing the screen material with material that has a smaller/finer mesh such that these biting little critters can't get in.  There is nothing "wrong" with the standard screen material except that the mesh (the small holes in the screen) is big enough for these (and other) small insects to crawl through.  There are a number of YouTube videos on how to easily tackle this job -

Good luck.

We did this to our Casita and Oliver...quite an improvement but some of the tinyest, unidentified critters still manage to infiltrate.  We are happy we did this modification and do recommend it!  :)

Best of luck,

John

Agreed, having lived a few years in no see um South Georgia/North Florida coast we found it’s just best to keep the windows closed and the AC on. We called those pests a flying set of teeth. 😂
