Jitters
I don't know if I will have an issue or not. But has anyone who has, tried these gizmos? The install between the regular and overload springs to engage the overload spring right away. https://www.etrailer.com/Vehicle-Suspension/GMC/Sierra+1500/2018/TLA7310S.html?vehicleID=201887455 Thanks Greg Greg USN Retired ARS AB7R
rideandfly
Greg, I was looking at the same mod for the Tundra and asked about it here, JD replied and thought it would ride rough. Already have Firestone airbags on a Tacoma for 8 years, decided to install a set of Firestone airbags on the Tundra last May. Run 20PSI in the airbags getting rid of 2" of rear end sag with the front and rear axle weights within 50 pounds of each other with Ollie connected. Placed the valve stems where screws secure the rear license plate. It's easy to add or let air out. Run 5PSI when not towing. 2015 LE2 #75 / 2024 F-150/5.0L
Trainman
I looked at everything out there so I could safely tow our new Elite II with our new 2019 Ram 1500 4x4 Crew Cab, which has a 500 tongue weight rating without a WDH. After spending days on the internet and on this forum I was convinced by many to just go with the Anderson WDH and be done with it. My biggest concern was I would get a stiffer ride when the trailer was not hitched to the vehicle, plus the liability factor comes into play as I would be over the 500 lb. tongue weight limit of my tow vehicle. My wife and I decided that a 3/4 ton Ram was a little rougher ride then we wanted, yes we could pull our Elite II without a WDH, but in the long run the 1/2 ton was what we settled on. All being said, it's all about the ride, YouTube videos helped convinced me to not go with spring helpers of any type. trainman 2019 RAM 1500, 5.7 Hemi, 4X4, Crew Cab, 5'7" bed, Towing Package, 3.92 Gears. rideadeuce
Got these because it was so simple to install with no moving parts, air lines, etc. Before we left on our trip to MI, I had her loaded down more than usual and noticed a couple of inches of drop that didn't make much difference in towing but thought I would try to correct it when I got back home. Literally a 20 min install. I will update with a pic of TV when hitched to Ollie and update how the ride was was while pulling.
