Step Up Platform between Twin Beds w/storage

Is it possible to build a removable Step Up Platform between the Twin Bed model?  Not built in.

Where you step up to get in the bed, but also have a sliding plastic bin under the platform for shoes and laundry to create extra storage?  Like those "under the bed bins" you can buy. 

I think the plastic bins are about 6.5" tall.

Not sure how high off the floor the air duct vents are to clear the platform.

Everyone on here is so creative on building things for their Ollies.

Thank you for posting the picture.  I like it. 

Looks like you can modify this to add a sliding drawer for laundry, etc. and put a rug on top.

I just bought a couple of composite deck boards and a 2x8. We slide our folding chairs underneath and also it’s a nice step up to the bed

Does the unit stay in place or does it tend to wander? Does yours have rubber feet or pads or an anchor in back?? I would be a little concerned about it smashing into the bathroom door during an emergency stop.

How much headroom is there when standing on the stepped up floor?  Does the frame block the heater duct?  I would also be concerned about it sliding forward during an emergency braking situation.  Surely someone clever can think of some sort of stop to keep this from happening.
