Ray and Susan Huff
This popped up on my Facebook news feed. Could this be useful on self-supporting awnings? Overland
I haven't heard of anyone using them, but it's worth a shot to see. For what it's worth, I've never had a problem with water pooling on our Carefree awning. And relative to Ollies with the Fiamma, the Carefree seems to be much tauter. I know that the fabric is different on mine at least - Recaril vs Sunbrella. The fabric may start to sag over time, of course (and it's a mostly irrelevant observation to anyone who has or is getting the new Dometic awning). I think if you opt for the powdered version, I'd make sure that you turn off the auto retract if you use those noodles. As far as pool noodles go, they come in handy in a lot of ways. Would definitely turn off auto retract if using one on the awning. 😀 Ray and Susan Huff Elite II Twin "Pearl" - Hull#699; delivered December 7, 2020 2013 F350 6.7l diesel Super Duty 4x4 long bed crew cab 1UP-USA Heavy-duty bike rack 2017 Leisure Travel Van Unity Twin Bed (sold)
Moderators Mike and Carol Posted June 11, 2020 Moderators Share Posted June 11, 2020 I just angle my awning slightly to the back whenever i put it out. Never had an issue. I do carry some pool noodles that I have used on the supports from time to time.
