Surge Protector Progress 2018 Oliver Elite 2

Currently camping at campground. Power went off at campground. Hooked up Honda generator like I have done a 100 times. I get power to Oliver for about 30 seconds and then power to A/C and Oliver shuts down. The Progressive Surge Protector shuts completelty off, no lights or error code showing. Surge protector is on during the initial 30 seconds, then shuts entirely off. What am I missing. What is causing the progressive surge protector to shut down? Yes, I have tried 2 different grounding plugs.

Have you tried it without the AC running to see if it's detecting an overload?  Have you tried the generator on Normal mode vs Econ?

I tried in both modes. It worked with AC off for a minute. I then turned AC on and it quit after 30 sec. Now the progressive surge won't come on at all no matter what mode generator is in.

That’s exhausted my ideas. Hopefully someone else will chime in. Is your surge protector built in?  Can it be bypassed? (Wondering if it was damaged by the power outage rather than actually doing its job.)

The only thing I know that would cause a complete shutdown is no power coming into the trailer.

I assume the unit is unplugged?

Electric water heater off?

Does the EMS reset itself and do all that a second time if you restart the generator?

Are you getting an overload warning on your generator?

I've never had mine shut completely off.

Surge Protector now on with generator running. Surge protector shuts power down when AC is turned on.

You're overloading the generator it appears. That will shut off the electricity coming in (without killing the generator.)  Make sure your water heater is not on electric. Check your generator for an overload indicator or reset switch.

Scubarx,I just turned the water heater off. It seems that was the trick. The AC is now working. Been running for 3 minutes straight. So, I guess I never in consideration the water heater used that much juice. That may have been the answer. It is still running. I will update in a few.

Glad you've gotten squared away, it would take a very large gennie to run the A/C and the Water Heater. Ours is 3000 watts and it won't do it. I believe you will be fine now. Switch the water heater to propane and everything will be right with the world again.

After 3 years, I have learned something again. The AC is still running on gennie. I would have eventually figured it out. I check fuses, breakers, turned water pump off and completely forgot about water heater. Thanks for being there ScubaRx and Overland!

Turn water heater to LP and you can still have hot water

We find, with the Progressive Industries built in surge protector, that with an error code, once you get the problem isolated, you have to unplug power, whatever the source, and plug back in.  It seems to reset the error code on the surge protector so it can function normally.  You know, the old stand by REBOOT 😖

If there is a reset or clear code button, I don't see a reference to it in the manual.
