Patriot Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 I recently purchased a set of what I thought were brass quick connects to install on my water inlets on our Oliver. I quickly realized when I received the QCs that they simply had a brass colored coating and were made of aluminum. I returned the aluminum QCs via Amazon and ordered a solid brass set of quick connects to avoid any galvanic corrosion or fusing of the threads due to dissimilar metals. Maybe I am overthinking this but I can’t imagine how much trouble it would be to remove a leaky fused aluminum QC on an Ollies water inlet. Does anyone know what metal the threaded water inlets are made if on the Ollie? My plan is to use these new solid brass QCs when they arrive unless I learn differently. I know there are more high dollar QCs out there, but these have pretty solid reviews and the price seems decent. Thanks for any input and thoughts. 2020 OLEII - Hull #634 aka- “XPLOR” TV 2021 F350 6.7 liter Diesel Lariat Ultimate Tremor Retro upgrades - Truma Aventa 13.5 AC, Alcan 5 leaf pack, Alcan HD shackles & HD wet bolts, 5200lb never lube axles. Frank C Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 I’ve been using that style of brass quick connect fittings for a couple years now on all of my water connections (except for the black tank flush connector, to avoid any mixup with a hose I specifically keep separate for that function). No problems so far and no corrosion of the Oliver connections. I know some folks have expressed concerns about how far out the quick connect fittings extend from the hull, and the risk of damage while driving from debris hitting the fittings. But our travels are usually on main highways/interstates that are pretty clear of major debris. I’m not driving at high speed through rock quarries or minefields 🙂. No damage so far after approximately 20,000 miles of travel. 1 1
Trainman Posted July 17, 2022 Posted July 17, 2022 I have them (brass) from Camco and sold on Amazon, they work great. There also on my Black Tank flush hookup, I use a different color hose for that flush, army camo color, get the idea. trainman 1 2019 RAM 1500, 5.7 Hemi, 4X4, Crew Cab, 5'7" bed, Towing Package, 3.92 Gears. I've been considering buying some stainless steel quick connects like these. A bit pricey, but maybe worth it in the long run. 1 Jerry & Kathy 2019 LEII Standard #539 + 2019 Tundra Limited 4X4

Patriot Posted July 24, 2022 Author Posted July 24, 2022 I decided to order these much higher quality Eley QC’s based on a recommendation from another member on here. Verrrrry nice and very high quality vs the aluminum Chinese junk sold on Amazon (above). These are made in the USA 🇺🇸 and top shelf. I would purchase these again based on the fit and finish and they come with a 10 year warranty. Getting the cap on and off on my trailer is a two handed operation which is what I would like to mitigate with quick connects. Thanks, BTW: Eley are the absolute best! 1 2018 Elite II, Hull #414 (the very last 2018 produced). Trailer name "2 HOBOS" . 2018 F250 4X4 Crew Cab, 6.7L diesel

This should help answer your question -the caps screw in. And I like having the safety chain as an added security measure to keep from loosing one of these while in transit. 1 2020 OLEII - Hull #634 aka- “XPLOR” TV 2021 F350 6.7 liter Diesel Lariat Ultimate Tremor Retro upgrades - Truma Aventa 13.5 AC, Alcan 5 leaf pack, Alcan HD shackles & HD wet bolts, 5200lb never lube axles.
