  1. It is looking like IRMA will be round two. Best of luck to all and especially our kindred Oliver owners in the Florida area. Most of the "old timers" have been down this road. But, this appears to be a bit of a different beast. Please be careful! Bill

  2. Thanks. We have been down this road many times, but it's been awhile. We're trying to help neighbors who have never experienced a storm like this. And, help our daughter and friends get ready. Paul is at the sand pile with neighbors as we speak. My truck holds a lot more bags than their cars... Thanks for your thoughts. You won't see a lot of me for the next few days. Sherry

  3. Super - I'm with you on the zip line thing. I've asked Matt if a group thing could be organized as part of the rally (i.e. group discount). Glad to hear that 7066 is working! We're excited for you and your new Oliver. Just in time for some nice Fall adventures. Look forward to meeting you at the rally or out on the road. Bill

  4. I just booked E-31 for Thursday - Tuesday; I wanted a day on each side to orient myself to the area. Cannot wait to meet everyone. BTW, when I called for the reservation, they did have the 7066 discount code activated so I think that got straightened out. I definitely will go zip lining with the group! Silly excited to to get my Oliver in about 5 weeks and get on the road to new adventures.

  5. My wife and I did the Alaska trip (and much more) from Atlanta and back last year. It was a great trip but requires much planning and preparation in my opinion. We traveled with another couple who almost didn't get to go due to illness. If anyone is interested, we kept a blog of our trip to share with friends and family as we traveled and you may find some stories and/or photos to help pique your interest. The blog can be accessed at https://culpepperwaters.blogspot.com/ and the chapters are identified by the different towns/stops so you can focus on the Alaska only parts if you wish. It was a great trip and recommend it....and hopefully our next one will be in an Ollie.

  6. We haven't towed with a van in a decade, but I can tell you why a lot of people love them, including me. Vans do it all. Tow your trailer. Hide your Christmas presents. Carry just 2, and a cavern of cargo. Or, carry seven people in the same space. Paul loved his 70 something Chevy van. Frankly, so did I. Our first 'camper'. We owned that one for almost 30 years. When I gave up my bronco for a more versatile minivan... well, I had misgivings. But, it hauled one to 7 in comfort. Carried an amazing amount of stuff for my catering business, and was fairly nimble in busy traffic, though fairly unattractive. That is what it is. Vans aren't beauty contest winners. They are, however, amazing cargo and people movers. I actually cried when my 14 year old van was towed away. Never a beauty queen, always a dependable, spacious, out of the rain vehicle. ( My 2004 Silverado has replaced my beloved van.) I can understand why the owners in the earlier post modified their van to suit their needs. Easy to do, economical. I might be tempted to do the same, if I needed extra camping space. Sherry

  7. We just booked D8 for the rally. Maybe I will paint the Stream white so we fit in. LOL? Seriously, we just want to hook up with some really great friends. See you all there.
