  1. Welcome Free2Roam! I can feel the excitement here! :D
  2. There will be an announcement before hand. :)
  3. Not for me. Is there a way to let the viewer choose whether or not to have the bar there? John Davies Spokane WA Hi John, right now there is no way to have the bar display per user. It can only be enabled/disabled globally, this can also break down further per device/screen size. Is this not working for anyone else? I cannot reproduce it not working on my desktop or on my phone. Working for me on both. Thanks, - Jason
  4. Corrected the issue. There was an update that messed the bar up. This is now corrected! Bar is back!
  5. Share and Enjoy !0Shares0 0 The world is only as big as much as you have explored it. Travel trailers are a great way for you to explore the world around you. You can choose to make temporary friends at famous camping sites or indulge in the innocence of nature by boondocking. If you are a traveling person or a family with a passion for traveling, you must find yourself traveling down the roads exploring beautiful landscapes quite often. "So how many places are there in Northern California where you can really do some worthwhile camping?" Here is our list for best camping spots in California. 1. Lassen Volcanic National Park This is a dream come true for those who like nature and the many faces of it. This area, which lies in the east of Redding, is home to volcanoes of all shapes and sizes. In addition to volcanoes, you will also be able to take a peek at pointy hilltops and some beautiful lakes. Many travel trailers will park here without any reservations. But it is up to you to reserve or not to reserve a campsite before arriving. Plan your adventure: Campgrounds of Lassen Volcanic 2. Rocky Point Campground, Lake Almanor There are nearly 131 sites available at this campsite. These sites are given to those arriving on a first come first serve basis. The campsites located along the skirts of Lake Almanor provide a beautiful view of the lake water and a bunch of water sports activities such as boating, swimming, hiking, fishing, and even skiing. Plan your adventure: Rocky Point Campground 3. Lava Beds National Monument If you want to blend your passion for camping with adventuring, this is just the place for you to visit in northern California. When you are here you will be surprised to know that you are standing on grounds with hundreds of caves and lava tubes right under your feet. If you are adventurous enough, get your torch and backpack ready to explore some of these caverns. It is located nearly 100 miles away from Mt. Shasta to its northeast. See more info about their campgrounds. Plan your adventure: National Monument California 4. Cisco Grove Campgrounds, Soda Springs This beautiful natural site offers you the view and experience of the South Yuba River. Once you are here you will be surrounded by hundreds of acres of forests where you can camp. There is a lot that you can do at this campsite starting from playing volleyball and basketball to hiking and bicycling. If you visit Cisco Grove Campgrounds in winters, you can even go sledding and skiing. Plan your adventure: Cisco Grove Campground 5. Manchester Beach KOA, Mendocino If you are looking to take your traveling trailers to a place where you can have some great family time, Manchester Beach KOA is the place for you. It is often said about this campsite offers some of the best camping in Northern California. You will get to see the lighthouses and a peek at the beautiful Mendocino village. The place also has some spots for anglers to catch some fish. There will be a lot of opportunities to have family fun in this place. You can go wine tasting because Anderson Valley wineries are here too. Don’t forget to bring your dog here because an interactive dog park is just the right place for your dog to have some fun. Plan your adventure: Mendocino Coast KOA 6. Gerle Creek Campground You want to spend some quality family time, you like water sports and you feel like getting as close to nature as possible. If you feel like doing any of that, Gerle Creek Campground is the best place to go. This place is all about beauty. A lot of egg campers arrive here to enjoy the serenity of mountains more than 5,000 feet high. The Gerle Creek is beautiful with surrounding serene mountain tops and trees. You can catch some fish here or simply enjoy kayaking and canoeing. The favorite fish to catch here is rainbow trout. Plan your adventure: Gerle Creek Campground 7. D.L. Bliss State Park, Lake Tahoe When it comes to breathtaking views and spectacular sightings, nothing beats Lake Tahoe campsites. While you can always spend your time enthralled by the beauty of Lake Tahoe, there are some of the best hiking trails of the country available in this area. Balancing Rock Nature Trail and The Lighthouse Trail are the two most famous ones. To make the best of beach fun you should visit the area in summer. Plan your adventure: D.L. BLISS SP, CA 8. McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State is one of the best travel trailer campgrounds offering different flavors of nature to its visitors. Nearly 1000 acres of land is all forest with nearly 5 miles shoreline. The gem of this region for most campers is Burney Falls. These waterfalls are nearly 130 feet high. You won’t be enthralled by their tallness because there are some high waterfalls in the country, but you could safely say they are some of the most beautiful ones. The campgrounds have received recent renovations for travel trailers and the addition of some beautiful bathrooms as well. Plan your adventure: McArthur-Burney Falls State Park 9. Caples Lake, Kirkwood If Gerle Creek’s more than 5000 ft of elevation was not high enough for you, Caples Lake might give you some relief. There are a lot of sites available here for camping and fishing located right next to Caples Lake. Bring in your travel trailers even if you are a big family because they have the right sites available for big families here too. As for how high Caples Lake is, this one is 7800 ft high, more than 2000 ft higher than Gerle Creek. Does this make you happy? See Oliver's design benefits when it comes to 4 seasons camping. Plan your adventure: Caples Lake Campground 10. Redwood National and State Parks There is a lot of effort that goes into maintaining this place and keeping it in good condition. To support these efforts, you are recommended to spend some time in the state park’s campground. The park is surrounded by some of the tallest trees in the world. When visiting in summer, you are highly recommended to make reservations. Once you are out of the awe of being among these tall trees, you can take a hike on more than 200 miles of trails. It is one of the camping experiences you will never forget. 7. Thanks Jason, I think that Karen and I just got caught up in the middle of the change over. The Blue Sky system was what was being advertised still and I read all about it and was expecting to have that system on our rig. When we went thru our walk thru, Jason said we had the Zamp system and I had to ask him, “What’s a Zamp?” because I’d never heard of it and didn’t know beforehand that our solar system had been changed out. So that was our first surprise, then learning the difference between the MPPT & PWM systems. In order for the Zamp system to compare with the MPPT, it needs to have a 3rd panel added because a PWM system is 1/3 less efficient then an MPPT of equal size. There was no office when we picked ours up, everything was in turmoil and everyone was working from a temporary desk at the factory while the sales office was being remodeled. Tommy had retired, Jason had stepped out of sales and dropped in as service manager and Anita became our salesperson while we were driving out to pick up hull #200. So we got caught in the middle of the big change and the trailer needed our entire pick up day to be completed and ready, which was fine. It put us into Fall Hollow after dark but we’re experienced with trailers anyway and that night was the first time that I had ever heard of Zamp… Which brings me to the next question, on our paperwork it just states a 320 watt Solar System and we paid $2800.00 for it. I’ve done a ton of homework on the Zamp system now and have found that the 320 watt Zamp Solar package sells complete for between $1100 – $1300 retail and it has had me wondering for sometime, did I get charged the $2800 for the Blue Sky System or or was the solar installation cost the extra $1500+? Reed Thanks for clearing that up. We were definitely going through some transitions as the Oliver popularity has been growing and thankfully we've completed them. As for the pricing of your Zamp that would be an Anita question. You would be able to reach her Monday morning. The number is: 1-888-526-3978 - Jason
  8. Greetings Campers! We believe in transparency at Oliver Travel Trailers. We would like to clarify our decision to change from the BlueSky charge controller to the ZAMP charge controller was based on the idea of providing an easy and enjoyable camping experience. We chose a charge controller that was hassle free and designed to best suit the Oliver. Listed below are the reasons why. · ZAMP solar is based in a world-class factory in Bend, Oregon, USA · Easy to use, less complex than MPPT controllers · Less prone to failure than MPPT controllers · Recommended for smaller (under 350 watts) systems like the Oliver · Prevents overcharging and gassing of your batteries · Recommended for travel trailers and RVs We hope this clears up any confusion as to why we chose to go with ZAMP. If you have any questions please feel free to call our Service Dept. at 1-866-205-2621. Thank you!

  17. Share and Enjoy !0Shares0 0 The crackle of the campfire above 10k feet of elevation in the predawn chill of the Rocky Mountains, accented by the massive echoing call of a bull Elk and a steaming cup of your favorite coffee taking in the view from your travel trailer. That is part of what makes coffee a camping staple in all of our adventures! Sound Heavenly? Yes indeed! Over the years on these forums, we have visited lots of coffee topics, from many ways to brew it, and beans to blends. Now, over the years Betty and I have pretty well settled in on a couple of coffee brands that we like real well, and have noticed that the most consistent thing that effects the taste of our coffee is the water. We generally take a couple of gallons of distilled water with us, but not any commercially available brand. It is free, courtesy of the National Parks Service. Free and open to the public at locations all over down town Hot Springs Arkansas. These free springs are both hot and cold depending on where they are. So just exactly where are they you might ask ? The NPS provides a handy map and lots of information about the springs at this location: https://www.nps.gov/hosp/planyourvisit/maps.htm Here is a map grab from that page: Here is what our favorite Spring fed Jug Fountain looks like: It is a pretty simple process, just pull up in your vehicle, step out with a jug and fill it up ! Well, that is, depending upon how big of a jug you bring. The lady in the photo below is loading five gallons at a time, jug after jug. People drive from miles around to get this delicious tasting water. Which makes one wonder, just what is in the water ? Here is a quick grab from that NPS article that is linked above. Note that the water is one hundred forty three degrees Fahrenheit ! Early Spanish Explorers heard about the Hot Springs from Native Americans and came to the area to check it out, thinking it might be the legendary fountain of youth. Betty and I have tried both the Hot and the Cold spring water and prefer the Hot to make our Coffee with. That chemical analysis is interesting, but, in the end, the proof is in the taste. If you are pulling your Oliver anywhere near Hot Springs, be sure to fill a jug and find out for yourself if the taste can make yours, the perfect cup of coffee. 19. Share and Enjoy !0Shares0 0 With the military many years behind, some of the terminology seems to have remained. I had used the term FOB, an acronym for Forward Operating Base, in a conversation with the Oliver sales manager. Betty and I were describing our camping style and where we wanted to go with an Oliver camping trailer. He listened patiently, asking a question from time to time, and he grinned widely as he began to figure out why we were so insistent. It was a busy place, there at the River Valley Egg Rally, the very first one, being held in Van Buren Arkansas, just off of I-40. It was show and tell non stop, for everyone seemed to have questions about the new Oliver Legacy Elite. We still marvel that he found time to listen to us ! We were ever so close to having our perfect camper, but, and now that is a very large BUT, it had one feature that would never let us use it the way that we wanted to. Being avid Jeep trail explorers and Ghost Town prowlers, we needed to be able to traverse rough ground to get where we wanted to go. Up high in the front range of the Rocky Mountains. We needed more ground clearance. Here is a look at that rally, with a Casita sitting by the Oliver we were looking at, for ground clearance comparison. Please forgive the low quality video, cell phones were pretty low resolution back then. The video starts with the neighboring trailer for ground clearance comparison. In the video it is clear that the Oliver Sales Team is busy, yet, somehow they made time to listen to our needs. Then they made our much needed ground clearance happen ! That attention to customer needs has endeared the Oliver brand to so many that it is quite hard to fathom. Here is a look at our FOB OLLIE crossing the Continental Divide in a snow storm, take a quick look at our ground clearance. More changes followed as we tended to prowl further and higher in the Rocky Mountains. Jeep trails and Ghost towns, here we come. Thanks Oliver for listening and making it happen !
