  1. As anyone who's every owned or driven a Corvette knows, fiberglass squeaks. I don't have the problem that you're talking about here but if I did it would be a simple fix to take the foot off the bottom of the jack, remove the nuts from the frame bolts, knock them back up into the the trailer and pull the jack out through the opening under the bed. Take a round file and enlarge the hole where it is rubbing on the jack. Reinstall the jack and re-caulk the hole. Done - maybe an hour?

That is kind of a weird setup, the hose just flops around among all the other parts. I have been trying to think of a way to retain it, a net bag for example…. for water drainage; any ideas?

I was hoping someone would find an upgrade for the outdoor water system and post a how-to about it.

I've been thinking about that same issue for going on 15 years now. I finally just straightened the hose and just never twist it while removing and replacing it. It works fine for me.

  3. There are four bolts associated with mounting the jacks. Two attach the mounting bracket to the jack tube. The other two attach the bracket to the trailer frame. Make sure all the are tightened down well. I believe all the bolts are carriage style so the nuts are easily tightened with no worries about the bolt spinning in the hole. The bracket to frame are accessible from underneath the trailer. The other two are accessed from under the bed.

The cost to clean our rig, going only to the arctic circle and back, was more like 30 bucks. Still, priceless .

The mosquitoes were awful. As was the drive.  No kidding.

In our 2019 foray to Alaska, we found a campground that had a wash bay that you could use for free.

In Mississippi the mosquitoes will eat me alive every evening. During our four month trip to Alaska, I didn't get bitten a single time. They were everywhere and lit on me often but apparently out of respect or perhaps fear of catching something from me they just moved on.

What is the bumper water connection?.  2008 owner here. Only discharge, in the bumper compartment.

Yours is located under the starboard side bed near the water pump. It consists of a short length of hose that you can drop over into a container of water. Just like in the current models you will have to reverse your valves, although yours will be two 3-way valves instead of four on/off valves. Turn on the water pump and you’re putting water in the fresh tank.

Yes to both questions. I’ve used my generator on my previous camper(Casita), but that didn’t solar panels on that.

There is a slight difference in generator charging your former Casita and your present Oliver. The Oliver has a built in Electrical Management System (EMS) that most likely your Casita did not have. If you don't have a neutral bonding plug in your generator the EMS will prevent the generator from connecting to the electrical system in your trailer, but for the time being it's OK to bypass the EMS.

I have a 2” adapter that increase it from a 1.25 to 2” but it adds another 7-8 inches out.  Just looking for a simple fix……I will be calling Oliver service on Monday but was hoping for some experienced suggestion that would work….thanks!

    Nothing will convert very safely...

Oliver's gonna tell you that, from their standpoint, you should not use anything other than their 1-1/2" receiver.

Wow, that was hard for me to watch. I could almost feel the residual stress as they rolled in late at night with 8 or 9 percent left. That equates to less than 10 miles of range… Stopping every 80-100 miles for well over an hour and close to two if everything doesn’t go perfectly?  This was under ideal conditions weather wise and no other charging traffic.  Very enlightening, not something we’re going to try any time soon.

Made me wanna throw up watching all that. Approx 1 mile/Kw, Over an hour to get enough juice to go another 100 plus miles, having to unhook in most cases. I'll stick with our big boy diesel. I'm not really concerned about the price of fuel, I planned for this lifestyle for nearly 20 years and calculated fuel at $5.00/gal into those plans.

    Load up....

This morning we were towing Ollie on I40E just east of Black Mountain NC when a LE2 Ollie rig passed us! This Ollie had a University of Tennessee orange "T" on the front!

I just checked the three mounting bolts on my front jack and they were all loose.  Glad I caught them now.

BTW... what tool do you guys use to track the maintenance on your Oliver?

Our truck keeps up with it and tells me when it is due.

With towing MPG certainly a bigger consideration these days, I thought I would share the fuel economy numbers from my last two trips up into the Colorado mountains and back while towing my LEII.  (Water tank full outbound and empty on return) This is a stock 2021 Silverado 1500 with the 3.0L diesel in-line 6 cylinder.  If you are considering a new tow vehicle, this truck has been solid and comfortable.  Power and control towing both up and down the mountain passes in Colorado.  The only shortcoming is limited payload in the truck and use of WD hitch, as has been discussed here for all half ton trucks - but these haven’t been a problem for me so far.  Almost 17k miles and zero problems.

Have you noticed that when the tow/haul mode is engaged, the last gauge changes from an amp meter to transmission temperature?

We can't wait for our f 150 hybrid to be delivered!  We bought it because we wanted to use the onboard generator-7.2 KW for boondocking.  Got our Ollie April 29, ordered week before Christmas.  Ordered the truck first week of January-"oh it will take about 10-12 weeks to get here". It is built but waiting on a chip. Slowly going stir crazy not being able to camp-we sold our Casita mid december.

Has anyone else used the onboard generator while boondocking?  How was it?

Take a look at this article. Substitute “trailer”every time it says “home.”

  13. After futzing around with the leaking high marker light for about three years, I finally dug all the caulking out from around the lens. After bedding it in butyl tape I re-caulked it and thought everything was fine. This was all done in a campground in Idaho several years ago. The next rain proved that it was not fine and upon closer examination, I discovered water was still coming around a marker light adjacent to the lens. Rather than trying to get it out and caulk around it, I just covered the inside of the fixture with caulk. Five years and not a drop since. I would not fool with trying to remove one of the markers lights unless I was going to have to replace it.
