  1. Thanks Sherry & Paul, we sure will miss you guys at Greeson, are ya' sure ya' can't slip off to the lake for a bit ?
  2. Welcome ! You will have a great time catching, frying, eating those monster sized catfish !
  3. Way to go ! Now, that's the way to stay focused ! I wonder if a couple of those "rare earth" magnets would hold the cap when the plug is in place ?
  4. Oh Yeah ! Great photos, Thanks. Now I see why there is such intrest in the 22 !
  5. Great Project ! We really enjoyed all of the photos. How deep did you have to drill to get water ?
  6. Yep, there's a lot of things to consider alright. Another thing came up yesterday during a conversation with a friend who is also my insurance agent. Should our home have no one in it for sixty consecutive days, our insurance policy will become void. Wow ! When I asked how long we would have to come back home and stay to keep the policy intact, the answer was "one night". Looks like the grand daughter who looks after things and takes care of animals may pick up some extra work. Any one else have this occupancy problem in their policy ? Or, maybe no one is staying away over sixty days ? Have you got a solution ?
  7. Even though it is quite a windy day you can still hear those fish cooker burners roar ! Here is the video:
  8. We had looked at and talked about the Camp Chef Oven. After reading some reviews on the oven, we ordered one. That would mean changing up our propane hookups for Betty's outdoor kitchen. After a couple of adjustments, here is the result:
  9. Yamaha's Colin Iwasa was at the Bass Prp Shops Outdoor Skills Village in Springfield. Betty and I were chatting with him when this photo was taken. Being the rotten rascal that I am, I tried to trick him into having his photo taken with a Honda generator, the one on the tongue of the Oliver display Legacy Elite. Demonstrating great situational awareness, Colin said, "sure" to the photo, but casually set his back pack in front of the Honda generator to hide it. He later commented that he would have rather had his photo taken with us in front of our Oliver. ( Ours has the Yamaha genset on the tongue, he, he, he never did mention the "H" word ).
  10. He,he, we wish ! Just rounding up a few things and getting ready. We did however, see our first Dogwood Tree blooming late yesterday afternoon. Many of the dogwood trees are well into the budding phase, but are not quite ready to bloom. The old timers here in the mountains say that when the dogwoods are blooming, the catfish are biteing. We are ready to go find out for ourselves !
  11. Video Look at the Old VS the New jugs, click to play:
  12. Old jugs on the left. New Jugs on the right. Some of the old jugs are years old and are photo degraded badly. A close look shows fine cracks on the older ones. This fishing tackle is rated by the State game and Fish commission as unlimited class tackle.
  13. Bass Pro Shop's truck load of camping equipment for us to display included items of all descriptions: At the end of the day we carefully packed each item up and refilled the truck. When I asked the driver where his next stop was, he replied, the outlet store. WOW ! These things had been opened up and displayed for a day, and were going to be deeply discounted to the public in the outlet store ! Sugggestion, when in Springfield, don't miss a chance to shop the outlet store !
  14. All are up early on the morning of the Bass pro shops Skills Village. As the first rays of sunshine arrive, breakfast is well under way. Within the hour we are busy setting up displays, ect., it was the start of a long, fun day !
  15. With the arrival of the Cardinals Mascot Louie, BuffaloBob and mountainborn already on the scene, the stage was set for mayhem ! Louie has just wandered up to the Oliver display and information table, and doesn't realize that he is about to get led off into deep water by mountainborn & BuffaloBob !
  16. BuffaloBob and the Cardinals Mascot:

  18. Bass Pro's boat house on Lake Springfield is in the background: All of the above photos are by ORCC's Rick ( jeepin' )
  19. It was quite the busy day and later in the day I was begining to hunt up that chair more and more often ! Notice the very agressive hat on backwards ! This may have been taken right after the battle with that atrocious Cardinals Mascot !
  20. During a break, Betty and I discuss the merits of a dip net that Professional Angler Rick kluhn has designed:
  21. The Oliver Display/Open House is set up: ( you won't believe how many times we showed that Ollie on that day ! ) Note that the sun is just now beginning to come up !
  22. Setting up the display booths and tables:
  23. The truck load of display items from Bass pro is being unloaded:
  24. While cruising through some old files, I located some more photos from the Bass Pro shops Outdoors Skills Village: Here is BuffaloBob's Ollie beside ours, camped in Springfield park.
