  1. Sorry about the thread hijacking. I didn't intend to disrupt a good battery/charger thread. Yes it will. After I learn how !
  2. oopz, sorry. It is a internet capable cell phone. I am on the job and dropped by to see who all was chattin'.
  3. Good info ! This is my first post from the new HTC 6800 !
  4. DougI, I like that idea a lot. Any chance you might post a link to a web site or a photo of the Olympian. I just did a search and found different modles. Do they all look about the same. No fan noise ? He, he, sounds too good to be true ! Do they flush mount or surface mount ?
  5. OOpz, DougI, I forgot to mention, there is a small tool that comes with the screens that you use to quickly hook the screens in place. It comes in each screen package.
  6. The Nashville CW is the one we went to. It is on the North Loop. You drive right past the CW and come back to it on the frontage road. There are several good places to eat nearby. The screens we decided on are stainless steel and attach with a spring that holds them tight. The service Manager looked our Ollie over and complimented it on being so well thought out. He helped with the selection to insure we got the correct screens. While we were there we had a set of road wings installed on our Jeep Wrangler tow vehicle, to keep road debris from impacting the front of Ollie.
  7. Screens and covers are what we use. Even then there are times that we will find a problem directly related to a dirt dobber stoppage. Most of the time a blast from a water hose clears it right up though. The screens and the covers are readily available from most mail order supply places. Our first stop after leaving Hohenwald was Camping World where we could pick the right screens from a large selection that was on hand. The refrigerator, water heater and furnace screens work well, but the cover over the air conditioner is marginal, likely because of the fit or age of the elastic. Or, maybe because it is more difficult to put on right while on a ladder ? The tire covers seem to gather wasps and dirt dobbers, but they pull right off before a trip and the insect nest goes with them. Most of the time the insects have evacuated the tire covers by the time we get back from a trip, but sometimes we have to deal with them.
  8. Eight months since I posted the "OVERNIGHTING AT SAM'S CLUB" video. The video was shot in the wee hours of the morning with a cell phone, and it featured our 08' OLIVER Legacy Elite. When I checked on it recently I was astonished to note that it had been viewed 6,246 times ! Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypOszBZYLcI
  9. Hey, Chuck, you guys ever snorkle with the Manatees ? We always wanted to do that.
  10. Capn' Al has to adjust the boat's heading to compensate for another boat that enters the inlet that we are tubeing in, causing slack in the tow ropes after the momentum slings the riders up past the tow boat. He narrowly avoids a bad situation for the riders by slacking the throttle to scrub off the tubes speed. >
  11. I know that SCUBARX, Steve & Talli, are SCUBA divers. And the Mountainborn's, Larry & Betty are SCUBA divers also. Are there other water sports enthusiasts on these forums ? Here is one of our other water sports past times while at the lake. He, he, yeh, we really do other stuff besides catch catfish at the lake !
  12. CUMBRES PASS COLORADO ELEVATION 10,022 FEET We found this one on http://www.freecampgrounds.com Here is a paste from that website, it has several entrys including ours. > Chama Pass State: Colorado Nearest City: Chama, NM Nearest Town: Chama, NM Cost: Free Number of Campsites: 10 or less Max days allowed: 7 Road: Dirt Miles from paved road: 0.20 Scenery Rating: 5 out of 5 Noise Level: 1 out of 5 Amenities: None Status: Official Months Open: Unknown Description At the top of Chama Pass - right behind the railway station. Follow the signs to the campground and take the first left just after exiting the highway right behind the railway station. The very first spot IMO is the best. If you have a big rig, walk in first unless the first spot is open. Water at the campground, about 2+ miles up the hill. $3 dump at visitor's center in Chama (town). You're actually in Colorado here but Chama is in New Mexico. Contributor: Kathy Smith Fulltimers SD Added: 1/28/2006 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Comments (5) Post a Comment Overnighted here on 06-24-2008. The directions are right on. Snow still heavy on the ground in shady areas. Snow mosquitoes abundant during daylight hours. No seeums' not bad at all. Great spot. Easy walk to the train depot. 10K feet of elevation. Posted: 7/3/2008 Larry Harmon Vandervoort Arkansas -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This spot is Cumbres Pass--not Chama. It is about 12 miles north of Chama, New Mexico, on Highway 17. Take a left just past the old railroad buildings. The road is marked Trujillo Reservoir 2 miles. Then take the next left (a few 100 yards) and drive in behind the buildings into a beautiful camping area. There is a very clean, well supplied, vault toilet. As was said earlier, water is available at the campground about 2 miles farther in. It is Trujillo Campground and is 14 dollars a night. The free area is much prettier and more convenient. I tent camped there July 11 and rode the Cumbres-Toltec train the next day. Wonderful! Posted: 7/19/2006 Beth Murray Bastrop Texas -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Simply a perfect spot at 10,022 feet. It's behind the station, first left of the turn from the highway. A 5 of 5 for scenery and a 5 of 5 for quiet. Take NM-17 from Chama if in NM. See more at http://community.webshots.com/myphotos? ... ity=VgqYav Posted: 6/22/2006 Richard n Shirley Weatherford Texas -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where is Chama Pass? I can find no one who ever heard of it. I am assuming Highway 17 north of Chama, NM. Is there another name? Can anyone give additional directions to the campground? Posted: 6/5/2006 Beth Murray Bastrop Texas -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This could be a great location for individuals who are interested in riding on the scenic Cumbres and Toltec narrow-gauge railroad, which runs in summer between Chama, New Mexico and Antonito, Colorado. There are several trains each way, and even the option of debarking at the pass, but tickets must be purchased at either starting point. The Antonito segment is considerably longer and more scenic since it parallels the Toltec gorge, but there are more tourist shops and restaurants in Chama. The views are great! 13. Your wish is my command, mam' ! Duno' How I missed it when Geri posted the same request. Any how, it's there now. Maybe you'll have to poke me with a sharp stick to get my attention next time ! he, He . . . .
  14. Here is a still photo for those that might want a look at the fish, but don't want to wait for a video to load.
  15. Later this morning we land a Gar. Gar fish very hard. Their torpedo shaped body gives them great speed and their rows of razor sharp theeth make them a formidable predator. Though a Gar is a bit difficult to handle, are quite slimey and are odoriferous, they are quite tasty ! Here is the video:
  16. Just for perspective, here is a "good eatin' " size catfish, the next fish that we landed that morning, for comparison. After seeing that 32 pounder in the above videos, this six pounder looks pretty small, then we hear the actual weight:
  17. Fish Fever again ! I cut that video a bit short also ! In this next video we release the fish back into the lake wondering if we might ever see or catch it again !
  18. When the large fish entered the net, I accidently bumped the stop button and ended the video a bit early. The old timers have a saying about someone that gets excited and misses a good buck. They call it "buck fever". I wonder if I was experiencing a touch of fish fever ? He, He. . . In the next video of the series, the fish is aboard and the father / daughter team removes the hook, checks the fish's condition and weighs it:
