  1. Our current RV is a B+ motorhome with onboard generator. Like you, we don't use the generator often, and hardly ever for long periods of time. We would be fine with carrying a portable generator (Honda) in the pickup and setting it on the Ollie tongue box when in use. Curious how you secure your generator in the pickup bed to deter theft.
  2. Exactly what is the clearance to the lowest point on the bike rack? Our rack, mounted on the recessed bumper receiver of our Leisure Travel Van Unity has more clearance than the lowest point on the chassis (the macerator pump). In addition, the distance from the receiver to the rear axel is much further. I really want to make the 1UP work with an Oliver, but I want it to be safe!
  3. Are the tiles heat resistant; the stove is pretty close to the wall there. I did this a while back in our 5th-wheel, but omitted the area behind the stove because the tiles I purchased (from Lowes or Home Depot, don't recall) were not intended for use behind stoves.
  4. I think I read a comment, somewhere, that is was a liability issue. Oliver is afraid someone would use the 2" receiver to tow another trailer (legal in some states).
  5. I was wondering about bed width in the twin bed. Our current RV twins are 34"x76 - 4" narrower and 1" shorter than the Oliver. My husband is 6'1" and also a back sleeper. This looks like a great solution. I would rather not have the table mounts in the floor. I like your Lagun table top. Is this something you did? The table could also serve as a replacement for the nightstand that the twin floorplan includes. In our current RV layout, the nightstand is the same height as the bed platform and includes a filler mattress (for transforming into a king bed). If the Oliver twin was designed this way, you could do this mod. You give up the drawer between the beds, but are always tradeoffs. On the topic of tables: Can someone tell me the dimensions of the dinette table. Has anyone modified it with a sliding extension or some way to make it just a bit wider? I appreciate everyone sharing their ideas so we can make the best decision on floorplan, options, etc.
  6. Thanks for the photo. So, I assume the cabinet material (fiberglass?) tolerates the heat. Do you do something to brace it when on the move so it doesn't slide around or does it stay put just fine? We have the bamboo cutting board that fits the top of the oven. I modified another model cutting board by moving the feet to fit the recesses on top; not sure why they don't sell one for the Mini. I love the wood counter. With the stock counter being removable, I have plans to replace it with wood as well. My husband is quite handy with wooden cutting boards, counters, etc. Your picture brings up another question: I was thinking, with the door to the cabinet in the open position, I could place the wooden cutting board (salvaged from our HS Home Ec room) there to make more counter space. I use it to cover the glass top on the burners in our current RV for the same purpose. Is that what you have done here? Does there need to be something under the door to support it?
  7. Count me in! We already have a 1UP 😀
  8. Thanks for the warning! Our RV isn't at the house right now, so I can't see what the clearance is. We do have skid wheels installed in the rear, but more to protect the sewer macerator pump that is the low point on the chassis. The wheels have only drug I time when we were coming down a steep driveway onto a street. I wonder if the 1Up could be mounted with a riser receiver adapter? Grasping at straws here, but I love this rack! Another possibility might be to make an attachment for the rack in the bed of the pickup. Comments?
  9. Thank you for the info. Where do you place the Breville oven when in use? I know it puts out a lot of heat. I saved the molded styrofoam the oven came packed in, knowing I might be using it in an RV. This would add additional width to the oven - making it approx 18" wide. If Oliver is now putting lights in the pantry, perhaps they are also putting them in the microwave cabinet. If you could, would you mind posting a picture of the MW cabinet with the Breville in it so I can get an idea of the space. Thanks 😊
  10. I was thinking the same, about the black breaking up the all white interior. Fingerprints might show, but do they wipe off easily? The light glow around the edge of the door would alert you that the lights are on. We put stick on (I know, that's tacky!) individual LED tough lights in all of the cupboards of our RV (no hard wired lights except in the wardrobes), but they are a pain to have to replace the batteries and remove them when the RV is not used for a long period of time. Questions: Where is the switch for the cabinet doors? By chance, does the light come on when you open the door automatically even when the switch is off? I am considering the additional cupboard, in place of the microwave. We have a Breville Mini Smart oven that we would carry in that space. Does the cabinet come with an interior light as do the upper cabinets? I appreciate the pictures. I am saving these, and others, in a file for reference for decision making down the line.
  11. We are still in the planning stages of an Oliver purchase. Thinking about getting the black doors. Do the contents of the cupboard show through them> And how do they look with the lights on in the cabinet?
  12. We were at Gros Ventre last year, mid-May.
  13. Please!!!! BTW: the 1up rack is one of few approved for use on RVs. It is so easy to load and unload (takes less than a minute); can accommodate 29" and "fat tires"; 200# capacity (225# if you get the Super Duty model) so can carry most electric bikes; is extremely well built; and made in the USA. I highly recommend it 👍 https://www.1up-usa.com/product/2in-heavy-duty-double-bike-rack/
  14. Don't have our rack at the house to tell: is there enough clearance for the bumper door to be opened when there are bikes loaded on the rack? Our rack has an 8" extension because the RV we use it on has a recessed receiver. I would welcome this set up, providing the ground clearance is sufficient for towing on less than perfect forest roads. Count me in if you need more requests for this type of receiver factory installed on the Oliver.
  15. We have the 1Up rack. It tilts downward (it also folds up when not in use) so I think accessing the spare would not be a problem.. I can't say for certain if this would be the case on the Oliver, as we are still prospective owners. Hoping to have a solution so we can use the 1Up rack that we love. Curious to see other solutions for using a 2" bike rack.
  16. Haven't purchased an Oliver yet . . . . checking all the angles. We have a 1upUSA bike rack with a 2" hitch. Wondering if mounting the rack between the pickup and the trailer using a dual hitch receiver adapter would be an option. E-trailer example https://www.etrailer.com/Hitch-Adapters/Malone/MPG544.html Edit: after some research, I find the dual hitch receiver adapter can't be used for towing a trailer - only flat towing with a tow bar. I will be watching this thread, hoping someone comes up with a modification for using a 2" rack.
