yes, the good news is Lithiums are a LOT lighter than the AGMs. But, at 57 pounds each, that’s 171 pounds for the 3. After reading about someone saying they felt like a “German Mechanic working on car” I came up with a Rube Goldberg solution. The original 4 AGMs were wired with no bus bars and no cut off switch. After seeing some sweet forum posts I decided to add the Blue Sea bus bars for Neg and POS, the 400 amp Blue Sea Fuse, and the Blue Sea Switch. (FYI, Blue Sea is very proud of their equipment and price it accordingly.) Using 4/0 welding cable, not the 4AWG from BatteryCablesUSAA.com that I ordered by accident, I realized it would be really hard to do this in the box. (By the way, BatteryCablesUSA not only refunded me for the wrong size cables I ordered, but helped me get the right ones, and 2 day shipped them in time to get them installed before putting the new Victron Multiplus in Monday.) See the pics below where I used the Loews what ever board, not the expensive board Oliver uses. thanks Forum. I wired the 3 Watt Cycle 280Ah, (not 300Ah, like it says on the label) on the table and made sure I had all the spacing right. Then disconcerted and put them on the board with the PVC pipe as rollers and hooked them up, Worked pretty well, except for the Blue Sea On/Off switch. It was almost too tall with the board and pvc rollers. (If you try this, use smaller pvc or a 1/2 inch board.) Good news is it’s all hooked up and good to go. Will update when the new Victron MP gets installed. I could not have even considered doing this if it had not been for the wonderful detailed posts other owner have posted and great responses to my questions. Oliver is a Great Trailer, and even better, because of the wonderful owners on the forum that support newbies like me. Thanks Gary

JD, will fly into Flagstaff in May for a Grand Canyon Rafting trip. Had already booked the flights before we bought the trailer in Dec. We are driving down to Sedona on the 12th and 13th. That’s as close to Prescott until we head out West in 2026 with the Ollie. Thanks for the parking offer. Look forward to taking you up on that. Gary

JD, hope to see you at the Rally and have your Favorite Beverage waiting for you for all the help you have given me. I’m Printing this out to give to the installer. My goal when I owned my 2 Radio Stations, was to know just enough when my Engineer told me something, I could give him a LOOK, and a question, to keep him on his toes. Will use this info to do the same with the installer. Gary

What all can be removed when replacing Xantrex ProWatt SW with Victron Multiplex. I have a Mobile RV Repair guy coming Monday the 21st to put in the Victron Multiplex. In addition to the Xantrex ProWatt and the SW unit what else can be removed? Can the Transfer switch in the dinette seat basement go? Does the aluminum junction box, under the SW unit stay or go into the new MP? Any and all suggestions are appreciated. Thanks Gary

Victron Multiplus and MPII Feedback Request
Teaney Hull 292 replied to jd1923's topic in Ollie Modifications
thanks. FYI, in my 1 step forward, 2 steps backwards Battery/Inverter upgrade, my BatteryCablesUSA battery cables arrived to add the 3rd battery and bus block, Fuse block, and off switch. I now know 4AWG is NOT 4/0 AWG. Will know at 9am today if they can ship all the 4/0 cables to me in time for me to install before we leave for Guntersville. -
Victron Multiplus and MPII Feedback Request
Teaney Hull 292 replied to jd1923's topic in Ollie Modifications
Jd, did you need the Victron Current Transformer? If so, which one or is there only one? Thanks. Gary Hull 292 -
I pulled the plug and got 3 Watt Cycle 280 Ah Lithium Batteries for a total of 840 Ahs. Yes, based on Will Prowse’s review, got the Blue Sea 400 amp fuse. I also bought the Victron Multiplus, yes, not the II, the Cerbo GX, and the Victron 50 Touchscreen. Good news is that Beast fits where the old Xantrex ProWatt SW was. I’ve read, and reread, and reread the great posts other owners have posted on their MultiPlus upgrades. Sad to say, it’s way over my pay grade. Have a mobile RV guy coming out to install. He is saying 3 to 5 hours for install. Seems fair to me, since I don’t have a clue. He says it might also take an hour to configure the Multiplus. I am hoping someone can give me their configuration or tell me who might get me that info to save me that $150 an hour of button pushing. I’ll have him install the Cerbo GX. I may install the Victron 50 Touchscreen later. Would like some advice on best place to run the wire and mount for that. I do NOT have the Zamp Controller panel installed so that hole does not exist in my trailer. My goal is to have all this work done before I’m on the road to the April Ollie Rally at Lake Guntersville. Any comments, suggestions, questions will be much appreciated. Thanks Gary Hull 292 The Range Rover

JD, as always great advice. Previous post talked about “BatteryCablesUSA.com.” Good prices for custom cables. I got great info on how to take out the battery tray, the right size bit to take out the rivets and I would have never got the last bolt lose. I wish I could remember who posted putting the Loew’s plastic board on the top of their batteries with a cutoff switch. I am copying that install and I could only find an 8 foot board so I will have lots to spare to secure the batteries. For some very strange reason Amazon said I could not get delivery to my house for the 3000 watt Xantrex. So ordered it from a Certified Xantrex Tampa Bay Area Boat dealer. Will find out this Monday if they will have time to install before the rally. Just to be safe, I installed the 4045CSV board to charge the Lithiums. My new to me Armada came with new Weather Tech, so my old ones will line the bottom. If I do buy the 3rd battery, I was thinking of putting them all in sideways. Is there a reason I don’t know, why you said 2 long way and one cross way. Oh, they won’t push very easily on the rubber mat. Thanks again for your help. Gary s

JD, I got these off Amazon after I saw a Will Prowse review with his cut out. WattCycle 2 Pack 12V 300Ah(280Ah) LiFePO4 Lithium Battery Mini Size, Built-in 200A BMS, EVE A+ Rated Cells, Low Temperature Protection, Up to 15,000 Cycles(2 Pack). With the Battery Tray out there is room for a 3rd battery. With the possible Tariff excitement, I’m thinking of ordering the 3rd, before the prices go up 50%. Your thoughts. I also have read if adding a 3rd battery, it should be within 3 months of the first batteries. Don’t know if that is true, or not.

JD, I’m about to install the Xantrex 3000 with my 2 new 280ah Lithiums. To run the AC off the inverter I saw I needed the KIASE TS20 Transfer Switch. When I went on their website, it says max 2000 inverter. Is there a KIASE transfer switch for a 3000 watt inverter. My search only shows their inverter with the Transfer Switch. Thanks Gary

John, I just noticed as of March 31st, I have been on the Oliver Forum for 1 full year. the great support from other Owners, like you and many more, gave me the comfort to buy Hull 292. I have enjoyed all of your great info you have provided in the past and yes, after the April Rally, we have an appointment at the Mothership. Want to/Hope to have everything installed before then. Have a call into a Local Xantrex repair/installer for a quote. I took the plunge and ordered 2 280 Ah Lithiums. Based on the Tariff adventure and the fact that I took out the Battery Tray and have the room, I’m thinking of ordering a 3rd, before the price goes up 50%. Gary

My portable solar will only help a little. Have an inverter generator and if way off the grid can use it to charge if need be. While compounding and waxing the roof of the Ollie, I wondered, how hard would it be to use the awning plates on curb side and street side to build a solar rack??? Do you know if anyone has done that? Has anyone used the flexible solar panels on their Ollie? Every thought like this, takes me deeper into the Rabbit Hole. As always, thanks for the input. Gary
