OUCH. Thought it would be easier to replace the 2000 watt Xantrex with the 3000 Xantrex. Just ordered this weekend. Should I cancel and change to Victron?

JD, as always great advice. Previous post talked about “BatteryCablesUSA.com.” Good prices for custom cables. I got great info on how to take out the battery tray, the right size bit to take out the rivets and I would have never got the last bolt lose. I wish I could remember who posted putting the Loew’s plastic board on the top of their batteries with a cutoff switch. I am copying that install and I could only find an 8 foot board so I will have lots to spare to secure the batteries. For some very strange reason Amazon said I could not get delivery to my house for the 3000 watt Xantrex. So ordered it from a Certified Xantrex Tampa Bay Area Boat dealer. Will find out this Monday if they will have time to install before the rally. Just to be safe, I installed the 4045CSV board to charge the Lithiums. My new to me Armada came with new Weather Tech, so my old ones will line the bottom. If I do buy the 3rd battery, I was thinking of putting them all in sideways. Is there a reason I don’t know, why you said 2 long way and one cross way. Oh, they won’t push very easily on the rubber mat. Thanks again for your help. Gary s

JD, I got these off Amazon after I saw a Will Prowse review with his cut out. WattCycle 2 Pack 12V 300Ah（280Ah） LiFePO4 Lithium Battery Mini Size, Built-in 200A BMS, EVE A+ Rated Cells, Low Temperature Protection, Up to 15,000 Cycles(2 Pack). With the Battery Tray out there is room for a 3rd battery. With the possible Tariff excitement, I’m thinking of ordering the 3rd, before the prices go up 50%. Your thoughts. I also have read if adding a 3rd battery, it should be within 3 months of the first batteries. Don’t know if that is true, or not.

JD, I’m about to install the Xantrex 3000 with my 2 new 280ah Lithiums. To run the AC off the inverter I saw I needed the KIASE TS20 Transfer Switch. When I went on their website, it says max 2000 inverter. Is there a KIASE transfer switch for a 3000 watt inverter. My search only shows their inverter with the Transfer Switch. Thanks Gary

I’m about to install Xantrex 3000. Are the “Cheap fuses” the ones that came in the Oliver? I’ve got 2017 Hull 292. If so, what fuses did you get to replace them. And because I’m new to all this, where do you install them/between what and where? Thanks Gary

John, I just noticed as of March 31st, I have been on the Oliver Forum for 1 full year. the great support from other Owners, like you and many more, gave me the comfort to buy Hull 292. I have enjoyed all of your great info you have provided in the past and yes, after the April Rally, we have an appointment at the Mothership. Want to/Hope to have everything installed before then. Have a call into a Local Xantrex repair/installer for a quote. I took the plunge and ordered 2 280 Ah Lithiums. Based on the Tariff adventure and the fact that I took out the Battery Tray and have the room, I’m thinking of ordering a 3rd, before the price goes up 50%. Gary

My portable solar will only help a little. Have an inverter generator and if way off the grid can use it to charge if need be. While compounding and waxing the roof of the Ollie, I wondered, how hard would it be to use the awning plates on curb side and street side to build a solar rack??? Do you know if anyone has done that? Has anyone used the flexible solar panels on their Ollie? Every thought like this, takes me deeper into the Rabbit Hole. As always, thanks for the input. Gary

I had never opened the portable Solar setup. Duh, the controller was in the pocket of the case. I’m good to go with the solar. ‘Thanks for the info Robert.

This is Great info. Thanks. My new 280 ah lithiums arrived yesterday. took out the Battery tray. I’m pretty sure it was your post that told me hot to drill out the rivets and how to get that last bolt off. Thanks. The Lithium charger arrives Monday and I’ll get them to full charge before I install. Had a very interesting thing happen when I tried, and tried, and tried to order the Xantrex Freedom Pro on Amazon. It kept saying can not deliver to my address??? Canada Tariffs issue? So I went on Xantrex website, found a local boat dealer and ordered. It should arrive in about 7 days. Have another Tariff thought. With the Battery Tray out, I could fit a 3rd 280 ah battery in. I wonder, should I buy at pre tariff price? Your thought? The thought of running the AC off Lithium for even a few hours in the Florida heat is very appealing. A big yes on cleaning up the cables. I’m also planning on adding a Blue Sea Battery cut off switch. I’m not anywhere close to your skill level but based on your’s and other’s pictures and descriptions I’m going to give the Xantrex install a shot. Will post pictures before I turn it on. If need be, will have one of the Xantrex local installers finish it up for me. I’ve already got a call in for an install quote. Hope to be good to go by the April Rally.

MJ, I too have a 2017 Hull 292. Have the same set up except no Zamp charge controller. Have portable Solar with its own Charge Controller. I’m swapping out the 4045 board with the 4045CSV board. Not sure when/if I will upgrade to the vantrex 3000 MP. What have you done?

Great info. Getting ready to buy the Victron Multiplex II. Should I get the GX model? I will have 2 280Ah Lithiums (they arrive tomorrow) ‘the 4045CSV replacement board arrives Monday, and I have 380 portable Solar with the controller that came with the panels. Went on Victron site and saw they have 2 boat install vendors in St. Pete, across the bay from Tampa, where I live. The video is great, and let me know this install is above my pay grade. I will reach out to them for install price, so I am good to go for the April Rally.

PJ, what ever choice you make on the batteries, the right choice is an Oliver. It’s not just the Trailer, which is fantastic, it’s great fellow Ollie Owner, like Mossey who will take the time to answer your questions, and you will have lots of questions, after you get your Oliver. Hope to see you at one of the Rally’s. Lake Guntersville Rally is at the end of April. You would learn a lot and meet some great folks.
