  1. I screw the ends of the hose together, loop it up into a circle and then tie both sides with bungee balls to keep it ready to use. Then I have a 4' hose that I use from the hose bib to the filter. I use the bungee balls to then strap the filter to the stand pipe or screw the ends of the 4' hose to the filter for storage. I usually keep them in a box, but... I still need to buy a new box for the new trailer :)
  2. So... How many sets does it take to cap everything? Just 4? Or do you cap both ends of the hose for storage? I thought about running brass 90°s and pipe them both over to the tail, but it's not bad now that I've done it a few times with the chair.
  3. So they leave them uncapped then, yuk... I have a chair that I use for set up, so I can sit down right in front of them, reach right in and put the hose on with no pain. I thought about using the quick connect on my filter but I would still need 2 to make a cap for each end, so there it sits for now...
  4. I really don't understand what people use the water quick connect for. I just don't see any benefits for it. How do you guys use it?
  5. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01B25HKU4/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=DVETVI1ZF5E8&coliid=I15J168SFYH0DS&psc=1 My text keeps disappearing today.... 3rd time writing a response... Lol. Jason said they might be changing over to the back up camera we had them install for us because it's better and costs less. We have to let California DMV see our rig at the closest location, so it's just a quick trip over the state line and then back to Arizona to a friend's house. Every time I set up to paste the link above, all my text and the picture disappeared, so this better work, hehe.
  6. We're in Morganton tonight off I40 heading towards Shawsboro up in the North Eastern tip to see a friend for a few days, so we've past you just today but we will be here at Walmart in Morganton until tomorrow afternoon rearranging everything... Then next week, down the coast to Charleston to see another friend,, then back to Cali to get registered... Then back to New Mexico to see friends,.. Then back to Texas to Little House Customs for window awnings and helping Larry take measurements for custom Oliver work so he can add a bunch of mods for Oliver's if possible. Oliver doesn't change the bathroom faucet out for people anymore so we might be doing a shower install there also. He has the fridge buttons, hinges, and a lot of parts already that will fit both the Casita and the Oliver's already. He's never had the chance to really look one over so... Maybe an Oliver mod store will open soon :) Our biggest dip is stopping in the middle to back to Cali to register it, kinda put a damper on things, but it's workable :)
  7. And the photo -
  8. We hit up the Old Mill Restaurant for lunch today and the Corn Chowder was great. On to North Carolina in the morning :)
  9. We will be heading that way tomorrow now, we can walk there from here.
  10. +1 on what Bill said. It will change depending on what accessories you've ordered. We also got the Camco sewer hose ,which is OK, but we bought a new Rhinoflex hose to use as the main sewer hose. Ours also came with a brass water pressure regulator, a water hose quick coupler that I just don't have a need for, and some male propane connection for the extra ports that we had added. Then it also came with a 30amp RV to 15amp VAC adapter for common house electricity. What it didn't come with was any decalsifyer for the Truma AquaGo that we bought, but they didn't know about it until I had brought it up. I'm sure that will be remedied soon. You will need 1 - water filter 2 - wheel chocks or 4 pieces of firewood to block the tires 3 - some pads and blocks to use under the jacks. These work, I have 2 sets - https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B0028PJ10K/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=DVETVI1ZF5E8&coliid=I2D37L01Z4XZKW&psc=1 https://smile.amazon.com/Tri-Lynx-00019-LynxCap/dp/B000UOBIZC/ref=cm_wl_huc_err Then you can look at this list for other ideas - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/DVETVI1ZF5E8/ref=nav_wishlist_lists_2?reveal=all&view=null I use pieces of cut plywood under the jacks and then put the Tri- Lynx blocks with caps on top when needed. We didn't have room to bring everything with us but you will want to bring a regular garden hose to hook up to the black tank wash and a Y adapter for the faucet so that you can run both the trailer water hose and the tank rinse hose at the same time. Also this is adaquit but ramps are better https://smile.amazon.com/Camco-43051-Sidewinder-Plastic-Support/dp/B000BUU5WW/ref=pd_sim_263_4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=VP41P0XJ4FMY97ZVN2H4
  11. Y'all are hillarious, hahaha. They've got the lights outside our window as a Veterans Memorial, it's really beautiful in person here in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee by the old mill.
  12. In the end, when it was almost finished, we head them add it and it looks good. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ TODAY - Was Black Tank Test Day... And what fun it was. Karen and I drew straws to see where the 90% line really was.... It was dark and... Well anyway, she had to go, so she became my little lab monkey this time. The tank read 90% full and down the rabbit hole she went. I was already hooked up to the sewer and was ready to go pull the handle if needed and then I heard her scream, it was horrible, but it still said only 95% full, so I waited... Her screams became even more terrifying, "Reed! Your a real... " hehe. I quickly let go of the bathroom door and ran outside, away from her claws and well beyond her reach... Then she stuck her head out of the bathroom and what I saw was, "The Creature from the Black Lagoon", staring out at me, with death in her eyes and toilet paper bunched up in her hair... OK, so I go too far some times, hehe, we found out that there is no 100% full on our tank, at 95% it was already up into the bowl half way. So this ended this test and we found out that if it hits 80%, then we have room for one more in case of emergency but in our tank, 90% means totally full. At least we only need to do this test once because it would be real hard to set her up next time. Reed
  13. The Silver looks great also :) Here's the link to the Silver Gray Metallic page or it's in the top section on the link above. http://www.orafol.com/gp/europe/en/support/colour-cards/oracal-951-premium-cast We we're just going to do the sides as well, but then at the end we decided to go with the logo on the front also. Having it trimmed in just one color does help give it a nice look.
  14. Thanks Hap, yes it will be fun to meet along the way somewhere. If you're going to California next week, then you should stay along the coast in Southern California because when wee have flood years like this one too many roads get closed and washed out. Right now there are closed roads all over Northern Cal; But... This is the Spring to see Yosemite and believe me, it will be spectacular like no other year before. We will be there for a week beginning April 23rd. The falls are based on water and snow melt and this year tops them all, so they will be huge, so this is the Spring to put Yosemite on your list. The falls usually dry up to almost nothing by September every year, but it's still worth seeing. We went after the 1997 & 2005 floods also just because Yosemite is really something to see at flood stage. The best way in is through Mariposa along HWY 140. Others will work but 140 is easiest with a trailer. Gas up in Mariposa for sure and you will have enough for the whole trip through the Park for a few days. Plus there is camping along 140 if you can't find anything in the Parks campgrounds. You can usually find one or 2 night spots during the week but Yosemite is booked 6 months in advance this time of year on weekends.
  15. I ended up buying the Rhinoflex 15' sewer hose today. I just really like it a lot better because you pull it open and it stays at the length that you open it too, so you can set it exactly where you want it. Plus it comes with a cap for the 90° that makes it capped in one length with no extra pieces to deal with other then the sewer multi-thread adapter. The Camco hose was OK but there's no comparison, so the Camco just became the extension hose.
  16. Darn tablet, web page keeps saying duplicate post but doesn't show the first..... So I add some Words and send again............. We told Jason that we wanted a metallic gold like they use on the lettering on fire Trucks. They have a metallic silver also. They sent us a color sheet, just ask them or send them your color. It is from Oracal. Here's a link - http://www.orafol.com/gp/europe/en/support/colour-cards/oracal-651-intermediate-cal

  18. We checked into the Gatlinburg KOA tonight to refill and dump the tanks. It's a nice camp ground and a safe place to leave the trailer today and go for a drive here in the Smokey Mountain National Park and see the sights :) The adjustable step has been in use the last 3 days, I'm definitely glad that we brought it with us.
  19. Thanks Mike :) we have a small box heater for it at home that we didn't have room for in the car this time. Do you use it when boondocking? And what voltage are you seeing before sunrise? We're getting down to 12.4 vdc at the lowest, so there's plenty of room to go lower. Our little heater is a 1250 watt but it works great and is the right size. So far we haven't had a need to run the inverter at night. Karen's CPAP can be ran on either AC or DC.
  20. Karen just got back, the switch was stock on ours. I was looking at this set up - http://www.lci1.com/waste-master because I like the drain line ramps but it has a good handle on it. I brought my grinder and plan on opening up the holes on each side and maybe putting one in the middle. The one cap that it didn't come with is the elbo cap... So I pulled the elbo this time but will probably pick up the smaller elbo cap tomorrow. I like having everything put together and complete, while being ready to go. I have the accordion ramp and it works good but with the height of the Olli tail, these other ramps would work so much better at some of the campgrounds. Fall Hollow was an up hill run and I used the old lift and gurgle method once again... Lol. http://www.lci1.com/waste-master
  21. I'm sure they would reverse it if you wanted but this way works fine for us. Karen just got back, the switch was stock on ours. 22. We're playing it by ear, either above Idaho City at the top of the mountain on a friend's mining claim or at mom's in Florence, Or. On the coast, most likely will be the coast. I think it's after the Bandon, Or. Rally, so most likely Florence with a group of friends.
  23. We have a day clock too, had it in the Casita and it was nice to know what day it was every now and again :)
  24. The back flow preventer switch is no longer an option as far as I know. They don't put the pull handle in anymore. It's nice to have the switch but we close it when we're not using the sink or shower to keep the green light off. I like sleeping in pitch black, so it gets closed at night. Then here's a pic of the new thermostat and so far, it's doing a great job. It's a 2 stage programmable that allows you to shut it off or set the time and temp to cool it down at night. The first 2 nights it got cold in here because the heater was shutting off at midnight. I read the manual quickly and found that by holding down the Program button for 3 seconds, it resets everything to the factory setting and shuts off the 2nd time program, and that solved the heat problem. (Or was that push it 3 times fast? Hmmm, one of them anyway) We're Boondocking again tonight and will from now on. There's no need to ever have hook ups with the stock solar set up :) We set the temp to 62° at night and it stays very comfortable.
  25. That's the new shower back flow preventer, electric switch.
