We read about the XP's and the Earthroamers also and they were not going to be something that we could comfortably get up into and use. After looking at the XP forum link just now, I wanted to add that in all of the other trailers that we have owned, we had big condensation issues. Where we haven't had any condensation at all in the Lil' Nugget :) We even brought DampRid with us to use on rainy days like today, but there is no visable condensation inside anywhere. There is rain on the windows but all of the moisture stays outside, while the inside of the windows are dry. We have only had a little water around the windows along the edge from when we have them cracked open in the rain. We were always wiping the wet windows in the Casita and had at least 2 boxes of DampRid open and in use at all times. On another note we are really enjoying our Side Dinette Awning that we got from Little House Customs, it's easy to open right from the table, rain or shine, and keep the sun and glare outside :)

One of the things that really is interesting to me is that in the first 10 years they built 200 trailers with ours #200 being finished February 9th. And now 2 months later they're up in the 240's. This is really ramping up the line this year, and it really showed while we were there. The Sales Office workers had been brought back into the factory, so they felt out of place for the time being until their office is remodeled, Tommy had quit a couple weeks before, so we never met him. Jason had been thrown into the Service Managers position, before the new gal, is her name Tracy?, was hired. Anita was filling in for Jason as Salesman... And they were building a new custom trailer for Jim Oliver also and he picked his up at the same time we picked up ours. So we went from Jason to Anita as our salesman 3/4 of the way thru, and then after the paperwork was done and they had finally finished our trailer at the end of the day, Jason walked us thru the trailer partially and then took us over to Fall Hollow and he helped me set up quickly just before dark. We didn't hook up the sewer and we just filled the water tank to check the pump because it had already been a long day for everyone. Basically because they hadn't finished buffing out the rough spots when we got there and hadn't put in our extra outlets where we wanted them so there were 4 guys still working on our trailer when we got there. Plus Jason didn't need to go thru everything with me because this is our 5th trailer and I told him not to bother because of other things he had going on at the same time also. But every time we've called since we picked up the trailer, Jason has been right there to help in any way he can and that's the kind of service that keeps people coming back :)

I just checked ours and the one on the sidewalk side is also not installed correctly. I'll show Reed when he gets home. I also have a very hard time opening and closing the windows, I have to use both hands to get the one over the small dinette to open and close. Karen

Plus, I think doubling their line has really put a lot more stress on the guys building them. Businesses are always looking for ways to cut costs and make things faster and that all reflects on the quality overall after a certain point. We've been really happy with our trailer and everything checked out great at the factory. The drawer problem that we had was an easy fix. And now after using the Zamp controller, I'm ok with it even though the Blue Sky controller is better overall being that an mppt controller and is the best and newest controller on the market. The Zamp is dependable and runs itself more or less and that's why they switched to it and so far, it has charged up the batteries every day, though we don't use much ourselves anyway. Lots of things go wrong in new RV's all of the time, but here with Oliver, that didn't happen and everything worked from day one. I did have to set the Zamp controller to our "Wet battery" system but that was a quick and simple fix. It had come set on the AGM factory default setting. In Jasons Technical Sevices Bulletin, he says that they set it there, but that just didn't happen with ours and I don't see how it really could have been missed when it was installed. Still it was another quick and simple fix. Overall, I expected to find more problems and being that they also supplied everything needed to operate our new trailer from day one... That says a lot :)

Most places are set up to fill the tanks in place, I've only filled these twice but I don't pull the tanks. When I pull in they either direct me or I look for their hose and park next to it. That's how I filled my old Motorhome also with as stationary tank. Different companies will have vastly different prices also, up to a dollar or more per gallon difference, so be sure to use your "Gas Buddy" app or using "Google Assistant" also can help if Gas Buddy is coming up empty :)

I think it's a touch smaller then 1/4". My Masterlock wouldn't fit but there was room to drill so I opened it up to 1/4" for it. It seemed strange that the outside was smaller then the normal size lock but the inside was 5/16" give or take, so there was plenty of room to open it up. I figured it was a Bull Dog gimick to make you buy their lock but who knows... I'm sure that they can drill it out for you at Oliver if you don't feel like bringing a drill. I,ve only needed a drill otherwise for a few pilot holes in the drawers, but that's it.

Man, I'm getting tired of having to copy and paste replies half a dozen times to get them posted... Here we go again - What about a simple Dutch Oven? They come in all shapes and sizes and they work fine over a single propane burner also with a hood. Karen bakes everything and makes pies in ours as well over a single burner or with the standard charcoal briquetts. They have Dutch Oven contests at some of the Rally's we go to. And the flat top lid is used to put coals on the top. This is our main open fire cooking pot. Our friends use the tripod also in the list but we just set it in the coals or use a single burner with a lid. https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_4_18?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=camping+cast+iron+dutch+oven&sprefix=Camping+Dutch+oven%2Caps%2C281&crid=13W4MKEF62DG1&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Acamping+cast+iron+dutch+oven Here's the lid for using with a burner https://www.amazon.com/Volcano-Outdoors-30-700-Lid-Grilling/dp/B004FGP07S -

If you have the bottom Blum runners with the Orange handle then so far, only the front screws are being replaced by longer ones. You can see if you have the Blum runners by using a mirror to look under the top drawer. If you see this Then you simply squeeze the edges to open the lock and lift the drawer out and off of the runner. Oliver is replacing the short front screws you can see in the picture with longer screws. Then on page 1 there are links to 2 youtube videos that go into the Blum runners and how they work extensively if you do have these drawer runners. -

It seemed to improve but then this morning it switched to the text screen, so in came the small fonts and no more spelling or grammar checks. when I click visual, it's just not there... I never thought that I would actually miss the spell checker, but... I never post without first saving the text to my clip board, and it took me 5 tries to get one post to load in today. It kept saying it was a copy but never showed the original, so I kept adding words, re-pasting and submitting until it finally took and I could see it. Pretty ridiculous actually but, I remember how we used to have to fight the 90's style forums... This one brings back old triggers, so I always save now before sending :) Do I need bigger glasses? Or do we all :) -

... OTT is taking this seriously and has already secured a fix for the trailers still in their inventory, and they have already got the new screws, 2 new drawers, and a new mirror in the mail to us, so they are on the ball and making the changes needed immediately. This is a small issue and easily fixed, even on the road. Oliver has made some big changes in the last few years and they continue to do their best to give us the highest quality product out there. These Blum slides are supposed to be the top of the line and as far as sliding, they work great, they looked at my fix today with the extra screws and called me up to talk about the slides. I told them that I like them and also we talked about how to improve them. So Oliver is on it, and there's no worries about that on our end :) -

I also spoke to Jason today and they have replaced the short screws with the longer. I ended up pulling the drawers out, checking all of the screws and fixing the sponge drawer by addin a piece of tooth pick to each hole. It is a soft wood laminate with simply the wrong screws. OTT is taking this seriously and has already secured a fix for the trailers still in their inventory. I scored the plywood face easily with my index fingers fingernail. On another note, the page doesn't let me run in "Visual" mode anymore, so I have no spell check anymore and sometimes I peck too fast on this little tablet... So I am appologizing for some of the incorrect spelling that you guys are seeing of mine because I'm just to lazy to go back and fix it when I see them all. It's nothing serious, so please take my bad spelling with a grain oif salt :) -
We have an old Coleman stove also :) Very Old, and was given to us for free :) Always works when we need it. If I didn't already have enough stoves, the partner stove looks nice enough but way over priced for what you get that I can see and then you still need a table to put it on and propane, pots, pans,a griddle... a pizza oven maybe?. The stove might work at 10,000 feet but unfortunately... Karen & I don't work well ourselves at all over 8000' and it looks just like the $50.00 Coleman. Do you really want a small high tech camp stove that still needs propane just like a small Coleman? I've never seen these in action, they look great, but do they come with everything that you want? Out of all of the outfitters that recommend this stove, how many actually use it for the groups that they take out and cook for? We can cook breakfast for 12 people easily with ours, it comes with its own table built in and works just fine at the 7000' level that we max out at. We usually camp at 5500 or below these days. Where 8000' wasn't an issue 10 years ago, these days Karen can't be safely taken above 7300' or she starts getting altitude sickness and needs oxygen to live up that high. So for us, we have differrent needs and cook for groups when we cook outside, so the 3 burners was a minimum for us. I appologize for the rambling, I'm just a little biased it seems. The Partner Stove looks great, it just works where we don't, so I'm a little jealous :)

Karen does turn into the Hulk when confronted :) I think it's from the Fukushima water that we all love to drink here on the west coast. It's gotta be good if it's made in Japan, right? :) Actually Jason sent us an email today warning us about the sponge drawer.... Just a few minutes to late... Apparently the 3 new 2017's that went out with ours, are all having the same problems and Oliver as you know, will make everything right. Unfortunately, I think it is mostly being caused by using pine as the cabinet backing. Are the 2016 and before cabinets made from pine or a hardwood? We might end up with Cocobolo wood or abalone faces if I get inclined, it would be a simply beautiful fix :) -
All of ours are on quick disconnects because it makes everything uniform and easy. If the water pressure is high, I will use an adjustable regulator at the faucet, then I also have the simple brass regulator with quick connects that I can add in later. I've found that the large blue filter pictured, with the carbon filter replacement, really works best when the water has a bad taste. But it also really reduces the pressure a lot on its own. So when using it, I put the regulator after this filter on low flowing water systems. I have 3 different regulators and I have left the water on all the time when hooked up for decades... Until now... :) I've had broken water pipes in my motorhome and seeing the water spraying made it easy to find the leak... Lol. But now that I have the Oliver Boat, I would hate to come home to see a waterfall coming out under the door... :) Our dog Riffles loves the water too :)

And now... Karen went to open the sponge drawer and... How the heck am I supposed to get screws back into that corner? This short screws in the cabinet issue, is really getting rediculous... I'm going to have to pull all of the drawers, then play gymnast, to try and getto these to put it back together... Where's the quality we paid so much money for? -
Here's a link to the step, and this one can be adjusted to work with slopes. https://www.amazon.com/Camco-43676-Adjustable-Aluminum-Platform/dp/B00G258I0G/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1491325600&sr=8-4&keywords=adjustable+step+platform

Omnia camping oven, and other kitchen gadgetry
KarenLukens replied to SeaDawg's topic in Submit Your Story
I'm guessing that you can't see my other tries at this post, so I'm condensing the 4th try... +1 on Buzzy's answer, we have the same set up that he does, just the Pro90 instead of the Pro60 because we usually cook for 4 to 8 people when using it. The griddle and the pizza oven are all we need to cook everything. Then here Mom, Karen and I made pizza for around 10 people. -

With the shower rod that you had installed in the bathroom, he will be able to pull himself up and also sit down on his own. Then with the handle outside the bathroom door like we did in this picture, it really gives access to both the trailer door and its bathroom a lot of stability. If he is going to be wanting to do it alone, then another handle on the right side of the closet along with the screen door bar will really make his entry a lot easier. As far as making it to the bed and so on, the suction cup style added in a few places down roof should give him all of the extra hand holds needed once inside. If he does everything that he can on his own, like the ampute I know, then just ask him what else he needs :) This extra handle outside the bathroom door should be standard on all Ollie's, it gets used for everything. Also the bungee ball that you see hanging from it, hooks over the bathroom door handle on the inside to hold the door closed if you need a little more room when turning around in the shower. It keeps the pressure off of the door. Then a few of these below, placed where he wants them on the ceiling, will give him the freedom he wants inside.

No, there was nothing unusual, normal speed bumps and dips, nothing unusual that we don't drive over everyday. Yea, twisting over a speed bump is a posibility but this trailer hasn't seen any off road time yet. Frame flex is normal no matter what we drive, but without being inside the trailer to see what happens over speed bumps or pot holes, all we can do is speculate. I'm going to be taking this trailer over some dirt roads in the future, but here in California, the dirt roads are usually smoother than the poc marked pavement :)

Nope, it was latched as usual. That was the first thing we checked also... Then we looked in the bathroom and all around trying to find something out of place that could have flown into it, and the towel was covering what looked like the impact point, so we are drawing a blank all the way around being that we only drove an hour and a half to Sacramento from Turlock. There was a plastic cup in the bathroom that is the only possibility, but it's stretching it even then... Then I took the Mercedes in to the service center this morning and was greeted by an old friend that was our Certified Rep in Rocklin a few years ago, so it's nice being close to home even if we haven't actually made it there yet :)

I'm wondering if any others have the Dexter Easy Flex like we do and if it could be a contributor? -
The mirror has us baffled... There was nothing that could have hit it... We will be going back to the factory in the fall because the propane cover doesn't fit tight against it's mating surfaces, so the slide in clamp on the upper back along with the 2 Hummer style hinges are the only things holding it in place. The front piece that secures it to the outside edge that was glued on... fell off before we got to the east coast and we notified Oliver then after we filled the tanks for the first time in Pigeon Forge, TN after touring the Smokies and saw it hanging there. That 30 day California registration time limit really tied our hands... But we have really learned a lot about our Olli and don't sweat the small stuff. I was underneath last week looking at the frame, springs, shocks, and gas lines just doing a visual inspection and it looks stout under there. Are the mirror doors the same on the older models? I can see how this will be an issue if left as designed... This is the inside with the towel rack above with the towel on it. We're probably going to go with a wood insert on the door and then mount a mirror to it for stability like in the Casita.
