Refrigerator troubleshooting?

in preparation for my departure tomorrow, I fired up the fridge using gas and it ran for several hours now went quiet and is showing an F. I switched it to DC. But I don’t hear it running or anything coming out of the exhaust by the outside door I checked my propane tanks. I have gas and the burners are working fine next step?

What refrigerator do you have?  When we ran out of propane running our Norcold it could be switched to AC or DC without displaying an error code.  When the propane was refilled and the stove burners, hot water and furnace were working, the fridge still gave an error code on propane.  After turning the fridge off and then back on, then the propane worked.

Thanks Steve, we have a Norcold. I just turned it off and then back on and it is running so I’ll check on it in an hour. All of our gas burners are working. I was just wondering if I have it on DC just to be safe. Should I be hearing something coming out of the Outside vent?

Our refrigerator has an external cooling fan as standard equipment. If yours is similarly equipped, then you should hear that. Ours is loud enough to drown out the sound of the propane flame. If the propane flame fails to light, then the error code will reappear within a couple of minutes.  

A side comment: the factory cooling fan isn't adequate for Texas summer heat.  Like several others have done, we've added an auxiliary fan from Beech.

Our Norcold fan is temperature driven so you can't necessarily rely on it as an indicator that the fridge is operating. It only runs when the fridge compartment reaches a set temperature.

I hope you are plugged in to shore power, if you are running on dc.

F on a dometic means failure to light. Could have been an air bubble. Or many other issues... 

You won't "hear" much if you're running on dc. Or ac. Pretty much have to put your ear to the door , and you'll only hear something when the compressor is running. Not nearly as much heat exhausted at the vent, because you don't have flame, and all that heat.
